hello citizens of the hiveworkshop , i made this thread so that we can share our weird dreams here.

dreams are strange sometimes you can make sense of the events sometimes you cant its something interesting what our minds can conjure here is 2 weird dreams i had the past months luckily i wrote them down when i woke up so i can never forget them and this thread works the same share your weird dreams so they are saved forever here.

dream 1: i found myself in a hilltop near a pillbox idk who side i was with but from the vague details they were either germans or ukranians , but i do remember the enemy it was the soviets from ww2 all i can remember is t34s big explosions and soviet infantry running to the other side of the hilltop where the rest of my team is kek got blown out or away , one very memorable thing about this dream is moments after i was in a snowy passage and it had a very narrow pass i peeked to take a look and found a polar bear and that was it.

dream 2: the dream had the kingdom of belgium wage a war against russia sometime later they invaded atlantis which is located north of egypt then the people of atlantis turned into the Chinese who fought the invaders with slings and large green shields.

some honorable mentions from dreams i cant remember well enough are:

-a house i entered and had a stabbing battle against some weird looking creature who then had a chainsaw or i had the chainsaw.

do consider to write down the dream as soon as possible to not forget many details.

last night I had a dream where I think I was watching a movie with a very complicated plot, and the main character was born the type of person some think of as bad, maybe a male and a demon or something, but then there was another character that everyone expected to be good that was a female angel type of character. But they looked very human, mostly hiding their nature

After a long plot that I forget, there was a moment when there was a funeral and I think the male demon character was younger than the female angel and was giving a speech at her funeral about how she had been a really good influence on him. but then because her funeral was a sham, and she was secret immortal, she stopped by anyway looking as young as the day she met him, and she breathed out some plague ability on him and all the people and revealed herself as some evil judgement being that only seduced him into thinking they were friends, but really she judged them all as evil, and now was just magically killing everyone, or something

Then I had a dream that I was in the center of town and all the buildings had been temporarily boarded up and scribbled over with sharpie or something to try to pretend that the town was actually the same town from a book/movie whose author had recently gotten popular on society media. I had the decided feeling that the pretend doctoring of the town buildings to make them look like the ones in some story... was done by too few people, but who thought themselves to be genius. They had bothered the whole town and rented out all its buildings and yet more than half of them were just locked and decorated on the outside for art purposes, whereas ideally if someone was going to do this project they could have allowed people to go inside

So I guess it was all social media's fault in the end

...

Also, watching these two videos in sequence, for some folks, is said to have a dream like quality:

Today I was drinking coffee with my friends in the local coffee shop. One of the friends talked about his dream last night, like he dreamt about someone who cut their finger. 10 minutes after that another guy enters the cafe and approached to say hi and first thing we noticed is his finger was bandaged :vw_wtf:

Ah, if only I could remember my dreams for more than one minutes after I wake up.
Which is of course just enough to be left with a lingering dread of the unknown.
90% of my suicidal mornings aside, I do sometimes, once upon a blue moon, remember a dream.

Maybe I'll return here when I do.

Dreams are fascinating though, I've heard one theory that the main purpose of dreams is for the brain to process all your daily experiences, both emotionally and intelligibly (and to contemplate/prepare for upcoming events or activities you are worried about, which is why they can sometimes seem "prophetic"), and why they usually seem extremely strange, since the brain is working in "standby mode".

Some years back I was shocked to learn that people actually have dreams with actual context or plot. My dreams are a mish-mash of absurd things that make no sense in any context or chronology. Let me give an example of what my dreams can be like:
I - or someone I am seeing things as - is in a room. Or perhaps it is not a room as there is no shape. No color. Nothing. It is just a dimension of existence. Then there is cake. A cream cake to be exact, but instead of strawberries on the cake, there are salami sausages, and in place of candles... oh nevermind the cake has no top, it is just cake... without the top part? Oh yeah, and under the cake is a waterfall, the cake is floating in the flowing waterfall, that starts from somewhere and ends somewhere else (hard to tell as there is no direction or shape). Someone is eating the cake. There is only one cake, the one with salami, but it is no longer salami, and instead the waterfall is made of salami now, and the cake is a deer with a pan as a hat.

Yeah... that's more or less my dreams - or people I know in places that cannot exist, in forms that cannot be, doing things like painting the air. Duh, would be fun to dream something real or even close to reality.

i figured this out, and this is serious, I'm pretty sure this is true:

whenever I'm in a situation and i start to worry that it's not real, and it's actually a dream, what I do is to push against a wall. My brain's contextual understanding of reality, and of "walls" is based on playing World of Warcraft during puberty, and so my mind trained itself to believe that behind the walls that are seen is an empty error space, and that the walls are just triangles of the computer simulation that look like walls from this side but have no reverse side.

Because that's how my brain approximates what is real, in a dream I can usually push against a wall through a geometric error in the programming and pass through it to the other side of the wall into the empty space, like we do in video games. any time if i am in a dream that is bad and that i dont want to be real, i can push through a wall in this way. Once I pass through to the other side, I have disproven the reality of the simulation, and proven that I am existing within my neurons and my incorrect understanding of reality instead of existing in real reality where we can't do that

Sometimes it is very helpful. But it is also materialistic like this, to think that my dreams only exist in my own head, since that is my experience. There are wacky people out there who want to claim that some people have telepathy, or that dreams are looking into another world, and that completely doesn't align with my experience at all. If dreams are looking into another world, then it shouldn't be possible that all my dreams follow the rules of video games when reality doesn't -- they shouldn't be based on how i perceive things to be, but rather on how things are. And yet, they do seem to be based on how i perceive things to be. So, if some humans have telepathy or dreams with foresight, I don't have that, I am just cleaning my little neurons and hoping for my survival.

retra proving once again he is one of a kind.

This thread makes me remember the several times I had the moment from future for example, when I talk with friends and they say the exact same sentence from dream, the one moment where I am sitting in the class and then the sun rays show from rainy day while students sit in the same pattern (i didnt meet them then, i think it was expectation from first day in college) and so on. I had maybe up to 5 deja vu moments from dreams in my life, hope I will see a dream where I m in the mountains and have a cool pretty house :cool:2

Of course there is one dream I will never forget, call it a nightmare or just a dream of a weirdo, but it's actually a dream where I get beaten by a taxi driver and steal his moustache. This dream happened when I was 4-5 y. O

Sometimes dreams are like those AI constructed videos

Do we know if this is confirmation bias or actually some sort of clairvoyant prediction-in-advance?

If you actually have dreams that predict the future, then shouldn't there be some cases where the dream predicted a future, and you knew it was a clairvoyant dream that was indeed predicting the future, but then somehow that future did not come to pass?

If there aren't data points like that, where you thought in advance it was going to happen but then it did not, is it possible that you are simply choosing to remember certain moments for being similar in how you processed them in your mind to the dreams that preceded them?

As far as I know the same thing applies to dejávu, where the reason is not really that something that happens has happened before, but instead your brain left and right side have slight delay, giving you the perception that something you experienced just happened again - technically it did, but it was just caused by the other side of your brain to 'process' the information slower than the other, so indeed you experience the same thing twice.

Not sure if it's same with dreams, I would expect that it's just your brain thinking it knows things in advance and makes this illusion. I've tried it in the past (thinking I know something - such as what someone is going to as), only to learn I was wrong. :D

Yeah. But what I was describing was similar to when I said that all my dreams have video game rules and are obviously hallucinations of my own mind and not another dimension -- this is all based on my own experience of reality, and my own definition of what is real and what is not, which some people might define as materialistic because I am not aware of anything supernatural necessarily being real. There may be some things that I do not understand, but I do not consider them to be incapable of being understood.

I lived for a long time with that world view, but then I was reading some absolute trollish gobbeletygook on the internet in the last year or so and I found myself reading something on cia.gov where a US government report indicated that about 1% of the human population was shown under scientific testing to have what the report referred to as "anomalous cognition," which they described in detail as essentially being like ESP -- the ability to obtain information about the world around them without using the 5 senses. This government report:
  • was studying the "AC" phenomenon in order to build a detector machine that utilized the same technology as the brain
  • was written before I was born on this Earth

When I combine those two facts in my head, it's easy for me to stop and think for a moment about whether what I believe to be true and not true in this world might actually be a lie. Many ways in which I perceive our 3D world were trained and grown while using World Editor at the same time, causing me to perceive 3D simulation and 3D reality to be less different in my mind than perhaps they really are.

What if all that "Ed Snowden" stuff is a psyop, and the reason our computers and advertisements are evil is actually that the ad companies like Google have a computer that is itself capable of using long-range ESP to watch all of us even if we cut the power to all computers near to us, or go to a deserted island with no technology at all? That kind of psyop... might explain such rampant corruption. It's not consistent with my understanding of the laws of physics, but I also understand that there are limits to my knowledge.

And I guess if we ever doubt reality itself, then we may as well doubt the nature of our dreams.
