Story
Background Story
Twelve peaceful years have passed since The Great War ended. The war that lasted centuries but no man could recall the reason of. The age of despair, bloodshed, loss and grief is now past. The new age brought the opportunity for human kingdoms to rise, as humanity has broken free from the grip of the dragons.

This story focuses on Kingdom of Balgaron and three famous Dragon Slayers: Phodom, Fradz and Galeoth. Each of them starts their journey in different places, but they will eventually meet eachother and join forces along the path. Together, the three are forced to go a conflict beyond their imaginations.

Lead them into an epic world, guided by a strong storyline that covers hate, love, war and peace.

The honored Dragon Slayer Phodom gave up his life as a warrior and began a new life with his wife and his children, far away from the capital of Balgaron in the small town called Dalli. All his plans were going smooth and easy until someone steps into his life and changes everything...Fradz is a young energetic Dragon Slayer known for his short temper and bad manners. This silly thief is a very powerful warrior and it is said that he even killed powerful dragons single-handedly. After the war, Fradz went on many journeys, but one day a mysterious voice told him to travel to the famous Dragon Inn to meet someone who was once very close to him. Fradz accepts this new journey, as he knows that he cannot decline it...Galeoth, the son of a legendary Dragon Slayer lived up to his father's name and became one of the leaders of Balgaron. After the war, Galeoth still believed that the war was not yet over. His obsession to find dragons led him towards the Icy Mountains where he is about to uncover a horrible secret that will change the fate of mankind...

'Critical Chance' attribute added! It starts from 5% and it can be increased various ways.

Improved chapter 3's ending dialogues (outdated).
Vacuum's area of effect reduced. You cannot grab items from far away anymore.
Background stories and so-called "Books" are completely added to all chapters in this version.
Every single Spell Book spell has been added to the campaign!
Many new items and item changes. For example, superior items, which costs a huge amount of gold, are added to middle chapters; however, they're worth it!
Improved the multiboard a lot. Now it is more informative and better organized.
Combat kings once again rebalanced and changed. The major thing is that now they all cost 2 Honor Points.
Espers improved and made even stronger. Please come and tell me what you think about the Espers now. I've seen that players don't use them and I really want to make them useful.
Many changes to the starting packs! Now they should be balanced, every single one of them!
Stealing improved; now it shows the percentages.
Easter Eggs added; currently just 2 but there will be a total of 12 Easter Eggs. Check them all out!
Mystic Storm and Frost Shard recoded.
From this version onwards, a number of items can only be bought once. Choose wisely and try not to lose those items. You cannot buy them again!
Small changes to abilities, but not much. I plan to once again balance them in the coming minor versions. For example, I was thinking to completely remove Bleed, Brittle and Stagger. What do you think?

Now every fourth ranked synthesis Item will require a Zozi to reduce player from getting too many powerful items at early chapters.
Now each STR gives 20 health instead of 25.
Now each INT gives 10 mana instead of 15.
Chapter 4 Wisps are now easier to catch
Black merchant can only be seen between 24:00 to 6:00 o'clock.

Chapter 7 is now opened.
Boss points are now removed from the game. You can still change your Boss points to Honor points by writing this code: "-change".
Remade all item, ability, spell, esper and all other descriptions: they are now shorter and easier to read.
There is only fire, ice, and lightning spells now.
Improved multiboard by a lot, added some new stats to it also.
Added new combat kings and new spells. Combat Kings now only go up to level 5.
Added some more tactical meaning to the battle: some abilities can do or use buffs called Brittle, Stagger, and Bleed. For example some other abilities can use these buffs to deal increased damage.
Now Special abilities will increase by every level instead of every fifth level.
All professionals are now universal.
The Critical Damage bonus starts from 100% instead of 0%. The chance to do a Critical Hit is still 10%.
Once again, more items.
New Spell System: Instead of spell books you can easily use spells from left corner just like potions.
The file size is now bigger because I imported some resources to the campaign. The expected file size in the end will be about 120mb to 140mb. I hope the file size won't be a problem.
New balanced attack and armor types: Sharp, Blunt, Magic, Light, Medium, Heavy, Sturdy and Elemental.
Now some enemies are categorized as Summoned, Undead, Drgon and Monster. Some items and abilities can do extra effects to them.
Now enemies won't do their abilities while stunned.
The campaign is now optimized and protected. All thanks to Shadow Daemon for creating the awesome "campaign optimizator" program".
Fixed some bugs.

Most of the item descriptions are updated.
Some of the items are remade.

at the very first!.................when i got home to test the 1.7i.................still the problem is there.................ROT AFOR has a problem on RIDDLE QUESTIONS....ALMOST I REVIEW ALL I CAN BUT STILL I DONT KNOW........PLS HELP ME I REALLY WANT TO FINISH THE MAP i played it every night and i spend more than 3 hours just to PLAY IT! RATHER THAN DOTA!

Nope. I just made the campaign faster.

In a week or two major version will come with a lot fixes like these:

Ah okay. Nice, so it's a positive feedback. Okay nice nice nice that someone likes this improvement. More will come, in a week or two version 1.8 with a lot of improvements.

Good news: It seems the bug with not finding the "Amulet of Strength" initially, was a problem with save/loading from older versions, but it works if I complete the quests/chapters from scratch. So DON'T add another amulet in the next version.

Bad news: certain skill descriptions are either not accurate, or do not appear at all. Example: Phodom's Fire Shield loses its description upon levelling up more than once. I also would like to understand why the vast majority of spells revolve around intellect, when the primary attribute of my hero is anything other than...

A really strange bug/glitch: if you have any "charged" items (Soldier's Set / Phodom's Hammer / Fradtz's Sword / etc.) they might be at full when you save the game, but if you decide to load your character at any given time, these bonuses disappear until you drop the specific item(s) and pick'em up again. This is no MAJOR issue, but when you're facing a boss at your highest difficulty and you save/load accordingly, it becomes really troublesome (to say the least).

Another aspect I don't get: When you're with Fradtz and you apply "Vigor" (movement speed + hp regen), your status bar won't indicate you are under the effect of these bonuses, therefore making it tricky to pin-point when you should retreat in a tough situation, or if you should stick and fight (counting on the regeneration, of course). It would also help if the movement speed indicator "Fast" would change its colour to Green (Very Fast). <-- I know that sounds stupid, but I hope you understand what I mean.

And there are other minor things that impact game-play, but I won't turn my rant into a page-breaker. You're doing great, Aero!

Hmmm I don't remember what happened when the Power Heal bug happened but I think its because I died while the Extra Health effect from the Power Heal caused the bug I don't know but you should test it someday, but I think the level of the power heal does not affect the bug as it happened thrice, once on Chapter One and Twice on Chapter Six and by the way,

okay, Aero. In chapter seven archbishop optional quest. this lich mini-boss. Did you make it on purpose that it keeps ressurecting portals back to life and keeps tping around every 5sec and when he tps he get full hp back or is it a bug? If you made it on purpose, then : how on hell your supposed to beat you who heals himself back to full hp every 5sec!? And, idk if any other has said this but in newest ver Fradz's invisible strike has minor bug in it : if you deal killing blow when your in invisible strike invisible strike wont go away and you can safely kill/attack another mob and get bonus dmg using it only once and if you activate it the right time its dmg is 2x more than what it should be.

P.S. I really laughed my head off when i got optional quest to deliver those letters in Terdroom Castle :p

Its actually the "Wild boar chieftain" holds the Power Orb item and by the way...
I think the description of Power Orb item is wrong, It should be steal 500 hitpoints and not 1000. Unless some monsters had some resistance to it.

Multi Board Bug?

In Chapter 3, the Multiboard does not show 1/1 on both elite boss and epic boss when I killed them and I also believe that the one of the five items listed on the Multiboard, "Path of Speed" is actually "Path of Magic" and it also does not show 1/1.

Power Heal Bug...

Replayed the Campaign, Power Heal bug happened again, this time it was at Chapter 5 and Chapter 6. Was battling with Pumpkin Lord when this bug happened. Fradz and Phodom did not die. Second time was in Chapter 6 always happens when i was battling Vampire Lord could be because of him always turning me into critters while i had the Power Heal buff on.

oh and Aero you should fix butcher's set, elixir and butcher's wep cause elixir gives you full vitality when you use it and causes shop bug and butcher's set gives you one vitality every time you kill enemy. Also you should remove all these food items cause now they got no use at all cause you dont get almost any gold from them and they give only vitality :/

Aero, I've been thinking about it and it's not the best idea to edit my previous post (#3999), but rather wait and with your approval, I will do an almost "complete bug/glitch/suggestion review" of the current version of The Chosen Ones. I feel this is necessary because there are so many things that need pointing out, that I'd hate not to address all of them, rather than simply naming a few at a time. However, if you consider you'd want to improve your campaign step by step (instead of some huge update), please tell me (I am currently re-playing chapters II, III and IV, because these are the most troublesome).

In short: Should I test further and give it all to you in one big bulk? (might take a while) Or should I post all of my findings, at this point, and wait for your reply? (this would only take 3-4 hours after I post this, since I'll be taking a nap)

Also: what do I have to do to open a "crate of wonder"?

By the way is Northrend winds skill bugged? Last time I tried using the spell long time ago Galeoth couldn't move nor cast a spell. But I didn't report the bug until now.

I'll post screen-shots with an explanation for each of these encounters as soon as I find every single bug, or anything that would get in the way of the player to experience this campaign to its fullest.

Okay, now that I understand the "Crate of Wonder" in Chapter V is "broken" (won't work), can anyone tell me what I should do to complete the "Forgotten Ones" puzzle in Chapter VI? I'm afraid this one might be bugged as well.

Hmm, yes. The trick is he uses his mana to heal himself every 10 second. So mana must be destroyed so that he can't anymore heal himself with mana.

Replayed the Campaign, Power Heal bug happened again, this time it was at Chapter 5 and Chapter 6. Was battling with Pumpkin Lord when this bug happened. Fradz and Phodom did not die. Second time was in Chapter 6 always happens when i was battling Vampire Lord could be because of him always turning me into critters while i had the Power Heal buff on.
Okay, I can understand the critter bug, but what about the Pumpkin? WHat he could do? Power Heal maximum health increase and decrease is made by using items. So if a hero doesn't have an inventory then it starts to bug... Did the Pumpin have some kind of hex too or was a hero dead?

No no no no no no, you must find the "Mysterious Ghost" in the market areas... I think the first appearance of the ghost is at the synthesis market then to the gem store area he will tell you to gather 1 adept staff, 1 elixir, 1 potion of mana(the one that gives permanent stat I think) and 1 magic ball lesser or greater I forgot

oh and by the way I don't know how to activate this mysterious ghost to appear at the market I just saw it.

2)Chapter 4 Slurgal Boss has invulnerabilty at 1 hp but I'm sure you already wrote that you fixed this

3)Chapter 5, the teleporter sometimes doesn't teleport the player to the selected area pans the camera to the area but the player remains at the same spot... which is kinda irritating.

4)The item: "Aerial Boots" stacked while I was synthesizing it, I placed 1 Ruby, The recipe for aerial boots, 1 Speedy Boots into the storage box then put in 4 lesser magic balls (I don't know how to make it unstack =/ ) And the result was a "Aerial Boots" x4 and m9 4 lesser magic balls disappeared.

5)Phodom's Colossal Slam skill is not worth leveling up? cause the calculation is: (lvlx100)+(strx5) so it just wastes the player's ability point leveling it or is there a benefit? I didn't want to waste my ability point in case it doesn't benefit.

6)The stat info for the item: "Sapphire Axe" well, its just a tiny lil text error its should have been mana regen and not mana rege, same for the item "Ice Crown" stat info should have been Intellect and not Intelligence.

7)Portal Quest in Chapter 5 the reward given says Boss Point.. whats a boss point?

8)Kaza Quest in Chapter 5 the Quest Update info should have been William and not Richard. Well, go do that quest I think you should get it.

Reminders: and of cause the Multiboard bug in Chapter 3 which i have mentioned in an earlier post and also the Power Heal bug...well ok that is all, for now.

8)Kaza Quest in Chapter 5 the Quest Update info should have been William and not Richard. Well, go do that quest I think you should get it.

Reminders: and of cause the Multiboard bug in Chapter 3 which i have mentioned in an earlier post and also the Power Heal bug...well ok that is all, for now.

I've already got this covered in the update due tomorrow, but good eyes nonetheless. Also, try to use the EDIT button next time.

3)Chapter 5, the teleporter sometimes doesn't teleport the player to the selected area pans the camera to the area but the player remains at the same spot... which is kinda irritating.
I didn't understand this bug.

5)Phodom's Colossal Slam skill is not worth leveling up? cause the calculation is: (lvlx100)+(strx5) so it just wastes the player's ability point leveling it or is there a benefit? I didn't want to waste my ability point in case it doesn't benefit.
What do you say if I make it (lvlx150)+(strx5)?

Okay I played through this like the 12 time now with always different versions and so. Here are some of my thoughts:

The best think first: No vitality system. This is sooooo awesome not having to waste inventory space / time with this was so good. I hope this systems stays dead and is buried forever and eeeevvvveeeeerrrrr, please.

The soldier Set: This is odd it claims to be a 3 part set yet you find more then those 3. In chapter two I found sword, belt, boots, helm. Also can it be that this one is made from the silver set? While wearing it I saw sometimes the typical stun hammer that came along with the silver set. I also was unable to find Soldier Set 2 in chap 5 what is the trick there?

Chap 1 Epic fight: While all in all a good fight I think that the one that drains vitality is plain boring (despite vitality not being in the game). I mean you just stand there while the enemy channels let him cast flamestrike or something while he does that so I have something to do.

Stealing/Digging: A while back there was a version where only Phodom could dig and only Fradz could steal. I found that to be much better. Its just plain annoying to try and steal with Phodom in the midst of a boss fight while he has really low chances. It even requires to switch out items which is annoying. If you want to keep it that can't you make it steal chance works like luck which is increased by items in your boxes?

Fradz skillset: All in all they are fun and divers but I dislike the approach of giving him magical abilities that scale of magepower and level only. I tried to build him as a pure caster but that didn't work which also came due to the fact that there physical/agility items in chap 2 are much much better then caster ones. This makes some abilities useless to level up like Lightning ball which offers great utility with 25% heal and being invulnerable while casting. I mean why would 1 put more then one point for a minimal damage increase?

Also blessing of lighting feels to strong 10 of all stats per level is massive. I would suggest reducing this to like 7 of all stats per level to get in more in line. In turn the mana cost should go down a little.

Fradz ultimate: Not sure the name of lighting ball but teleport strike does soooo much more damage and offerers the utility of being invulnerable as well as the enemy trying to hit Fradz (as if Fradz did a taunt) and thus working like a 6 second stun.

Chapter 3: This chapter feels short really short compared to both chap 1 and 2. Also the bosses should be stronger. I can tank the Omega boss by throwing in these overpowered heals and just stay right in front of it. Suggestion: Increase the health of this boss a lot like 3 or 4 time. Then you let him channel an orb that grows over like 6 seconds or so somewhere in the arena. If the cast goes through the boss will gain a damage increase of lets say 10% now if you run with Garoth close to the orb he will get this orb and the damage increase.

This should replace the phase we summons those wisps that heal him. He conjures so many and Garoth has such high cooldowns and slow attack speed that not once I have managed to destroy all of them.

Chapter 4: This chapter is good as it is except that the epic boss uses his phase switch (which kills a player standing right next to it) and sometimes uses teleport right this goes off. I have died a lot to this without the chance of doing anything against it.

Chapter 5: There is a dude in the mystic forest that cloaks himself and can be revealed with the dust but then he disappears again without leaving anything. Is there more to this guy?

Soldier: Set I said that already but its kinda confusing me you can get like 6(?) parts of this set here. I assume you have to combine them in the right 'order' or you will get the lower one so could you please spoil how to get Soldier set (2) ?

The cave of the epic boss fight should be accessible after the fight. I didn't pick up an item and now its lost :(

Dig sides: again I missed one I studied the map revisted any cave I could get in butI couldn't find it. I found the one in the forest to the north of Phodoms start point. The one in the mountains. The one next to the crate of wonders. The two next to the lumber camp (one close to the water hidden behind a tree). The one near the furbolg village, the one one next to these stone golems and the 3 wolves and the one one the hill where you find the shovel. Which one did I miss?

Mini-bosses: It said I found only 7 of 8 bosses. I killed golem, wolf, bear, turtle, Doomguard, Vampires and Zombie Jack which one did I miss?

Chapter 6: to the top right in the firey cave is there a dig spot? It looks like it but I can't find it. If there is can you make it slightly bigger if there is not then :(

The red warden general (don't know its name) can be killed by the effect of scythe of annihilation.

Now In general:

the Zozi I know you want to limit epic items but why? It takes a lot of playthrough till you are able to get them anyway and I always felt rewarded when getting them but now I'm rather limited :(. Can you please reverse this change?

I'm sure the Chapter VI elite boss is Faerga the Fire esper..... I think you have to go back to the summoning area at the starting point when you enter Kar'gath. But I don't know whether it'll be triggered then. I plan to wait for the next update.


And also I think you have to do this before you get Galeoth
 
The soldier's set works like that :
boot + belt + helm = Set (1)
Set (1) + other items = Set (2)
Set (2) + other items = Set (3)
It is fine for me, except that you find too much amount of set's part through the game (I end up with 3 Set (1) in chapter 5, even if I may have buy 1 of them, that's still too much).
Also, the quest for the sword (Soldier's sword) in chapter 4 still use the old name of that item in its dialogs (Silver sword I think).

+1 for the vitality system, that's really better now that it is gone :p.

And yes, pretty much all the regular bosses from chapter 6 can now be easily killed by the scythe of annihilation.

I killed all the 8 mini-bosses in chapter 5 so it should be fine. Maybe you missed the pumpkin, Zinive? There is also a mini-boss close to the doomguard's portal that you can fight really soon in the chapter (I think that's another turtle? I have a memory hole ^^').

Oh, yes, what happened to the animal set? You said you edited it but it seems you just removed it instead.

And in chapter 5, it seems like you should get a blue orb (for the elemental orb set -> you got the fire orb and lightning orb in this chapter) at the place there was a gate-puzzle before, but the blue fire only dealt damage to me.

To the mini bosses yeah I forgot to mention the murloc which I did kill. So maybe it was just a bug with multiboard. Also I killed the punpkin.

To the part of killing the bosses with the scythe that is not really intended is it? Seems really op Fradz was just looking at that one dude and he dropped dead.

I also need something confirmed do enemies that have items to steal drop them on death? I'm generally to obsessed with this stealing and always go for it except this one dude who only had crap. I didn't steal from him but the item was on the ground in addition to his on kill item.

In Chapter 7 the game just showed me the extended middlefinger as I played exploder and as it was finished the game told me that I cheated and ended the game (which I haven't saved of course) for me.

Also the auction house is kinda bugged if you have full items you won't get the item.

Its still in the game you have to use the synthetis dude to get it now still made from the items from the rock king, ghost wolf, turtle and bear. But there is a bug when you make it the turtle shell isn't used up. So you get the item + turtle shell. Also the active didn't drain. I used it Galroth and it made the item way more powerful then it was supposed to be.

Oh, so someone likes the vitality is gone. Well more will come, food will be removed and potions will be moved all to Restore Panel(no more item potions) in the next version.

I understand and a change is coming. Instead of 100 damage per level, I was thinking about 150 damage. Is that ok or not? Or do you have a better idea?

You can get Zozi as same much as playing first time or many times.

I made it sysnthes item with three pieces.

Turtle Shell is now stand-alone item... Is it useful?

Okay, quick question (though I promised it would be my last one last time as well):

Chapter VI: Shard of Shadows. Where can I find it / what do I do / etc.?

ANY pointers would be great.

Also, Aero, do you want me to post my findings so far? (up to chapter VI?)

(3 missing dig spots in the same chapter (only found 7/10), by the way...are they in the area we keep saying has no access?...and I can't find / trigger 2 of the 4 mini-games / puzzles. I can only find the one bottom right *I am proud of you* , and the second gives you 1 honour point and around 500 gold coins)

I downloaded the campaign and it's seems to be awesome, but when I start the Prology, my game just goes black screen with a repeating sound of wilderness and a frog which is really annoying. My Vram is 128mb and my Ram is 1gb. Please help!

Also the First chapter thingie works fine, exept that I don't have a character forwhich I need the prology.

please help me i already play this in 1 whole day i cant find the (night and day) sword and also only 4 mini boss where i can find the fifth one , i fight with this bosses 1.fishern, 2.big plant 3. big plant 4.spider . . . . . . which one i miss and where i can find it ... . . ... please i need your help . . . . . thank you

Hmm... go find the item: "Orange Stone" near the middle of the map... I don't know how to thoroughly explain where it is but I can a few paces to the right is a wall of rock.

there is only one missing in chapter 5 of ''THE CHOSEN ONE'' i cannot find this puzzle, and what about this ''crate of wonder'' near billy's farm anyone there help me please i'm stuck here in this chapter for the whole day . . . . .

Anyway: Zombie Jack - you're missing Zombie Jack (unless that's your "no. 6"). Also, "Crate of Wonder" is bugged. It won't work. Stop trying.

You haven't missed a boss. The multiboard is just wrong in that regard. As for the crate of wonders it is currently disabled and does nothing.

Now to my bug reeeeeeeeeeeeeeport

Chapter1: Right after the start I go south on the left side of the mountain and will find there a gnolls and a flower. Killing this gnoll kills my game throws me out and shows me an error. I have tried it 3 times and 2 times it happened

Chapter 8:
That Ill... something the fire caster wasn't there. I mean his model never showed up he talked in the cinematics but couldn't be seen. I also couldn't see himoutside of cinematics. I normally skip all cut scenes and I did so when he first should have appeared in chapter 7. I think that caused the problem.

I couldn't forge the life stealer and the aerial ... thingy well that what is to be made of the other aerial stuff. I checked it many times and I'm 100% sure I had all the items on 1 character. I even tried out different character with the same result.

As for the stealing stuff.

Neither adding more items with steal chance nor changing the difficult would help. Can't you make it so that it works like luck? When I place a luck item in a box it still increases luck and if that would be the same with steal chance then yay :D.

For the epic boss in chapter 3 as I suggested to switch this phase up. The boss channels in the middle and somewhere in the arena appears a wisp that is growing over the course of 4 seconds and once it finishes it will buff the boss to do 10% more damage and the next wisp will appear doing the same thing. Now if the hero kills this wisps he should get a stacking buff that increases his damage by 10% for the rest of the fight.

For the chapter 4 epic boss the problem is just that he can insta kill someone without a chance to do anything against it. Can't you make it so that he can not teleport when he is switching his colors?

For the scaling of abilities. I'm not sure a higher increase would work. But still some spells are just so much better then others. Like the lightning ball who makes Fradz invulnerable and heals him. Such spells should not do any damage at all. For example Fradz turns into this ball and can run around a bit before he turns back where the orb is currently. This movement would be on the ground and not flying. I will return later with more of my thoughts on this matter.
