Story
Background Story
Twelve peaceful years have passed since The Great War ended. The war that lasted centuries but no man could recall the reason of. The age of despair, bloodshed, loss and grief is now past. The new age brought the opportunity for human kingdoms to rise, as humanity has broken free from the grip of the dragons.

This story focuses on Kingdom of Balgaron and three famous Dragon Slayers: Phodom, Fradz and Galeoth. Each of them starts their journey in different places, but they will eventually meet eachother and join forces along the path. Together, the three are forced to go a conflict beyond their imaginations.

Lead them into an epic world, guided by a strong storyline that covers hate, love, war and peace.

The honored Dragon Slayer Phodom gave up his life as a warrior and began a new life with his wife and his children, far away from the capital of Balgaron in the small town called Dalli. All his plans were going smooth and easy until someone steps into his life and changes everything...Fradz is a young energetic Dragon Slayer known for his short temper and bad manners. This silly thief is a very powerful warrior and it is said that he even killed powerful dragons single-handedly. After the war, Fradz went on many journeys, but one day a mysterious voice told him to travel to the famous Dragon Inn to meet someone who was once very close to him. Fradz accepts this new journey, as he knows that he cannot decline it...Galeoth, the son of a legendary Dragon Slayer lived up to his father's name and became one of the leaders of Balgaron. After the war, Galeoth still believed that the war was not yet over. His obsession to find dragons led him towards the Icy Mountains where he is about to uncover a horrible secret that will change the fate of mankind...

All abilities remade and new abilities: Battle Banner, Fiery Ball, Fire Power, Ultimate Sacrifice, Counter Attack, Energy Shield, High Strike, Crystal Plane, Galeoth's Order, Illusion Army, Magic Convert and Magical Fog.
'Critical Chance' attribute added! It starts from 5% and it can be increased various ways.
Now also Strenght increases Critical Damage just like Agility.
Chapter 5 Pumpking Quest's second cinematic updated.
Chapter 7 Epic Boss removed the terrain deforming to decrease lag.

Vacuum's area of effect reduced. You cannot grab items from far away anymore.
Background stories and so-called "Books" are completely added to all chapters in this version.
Every single Spell Book spell has been added to the campaign!
Many new items and item changes. For example, superior items, which costs a huge amount of gold, are added to middle chapters; however, they're worth it!
Improved the multiboard a lot. Now it is more informative and better organized.
Combat kings once again rebalanced and changed. The major thing is that now they all cost 2 Honor Points.
Espers improved and made even stronger. Please come and tell me what you think about the Espers now. I've seen that players don't use them and I really want to make them useful.
Many changes to the starting packs! Now they should be balanced, every single one of them!
Stealing improved; now it shows the percentages.
Easter Eggs added; currently just 2 but there will be a total of 12 Easter Eggs. Check them all out!

Now each STR gives 20 health instead of 25.
Now each INT gives 10 mana instead of 15.

Chapter 7 is now opened.
Boss points are now removed from the game. You can still change your Boss points to Honor points by writing this code: "-change".
Remade all item, ability, spell, esper and all other descriptions: they are now shorter and easier to read.
There is only fire, ice, and lightning spells now.
Improved multiboard by a lot, added some new stats to it also.
Added new combat kings and new spells. Combat Kings now only go up to level 5.
Added some more tactical meaning to the battle: some abilities can do or use buffs called Brittle, Stagger, and Bleed. For example some other abilities can use these buffs to deal increased damage.
Now Special abilities will increase by every level instead of every fifth level.
All professionals are now universal.
The Critical Damage bonus starts from 100% instead of 0%. The chance to do a Critical Hit is still 10%.
Once again, more items.
New Spell System: Instead of spell books you can easily use spells from left corner just like potions.
The file size is now bigger because I imported some resources to the campaign. The expected file size in the end will be about 120mb to 140mb. I hope the file size won't be a problem.
New balanced attack and armor types: Sharp, Blunt, Magic, Light, Medium, Heavy, Sturdy and Elemental.
Now some enemies are categorized as Summoned, Undead, Drgon and Monster. Some items and abilities can do extra effects to them.
Now enemies won't do their abilities while stunned.
The campaign is now optimized and protected. All thanks to Shadow Daemon for creating the awesome "campaign optimizator" program".

Added Game Panel where you can for example eat food, move your boxes and cast espers.

Now quests will give experience like before.

I can't find the epic boss in chapter 7. Any clues? Also in chapter 6 you said after xod and before Galeoth when I was asking about dark messiah. What or who is Xod?

For Chapter 6, I have 2 or 3 optional quest unfinish, I want to get out chapter 6 as soon as possible because it is so boring.


I think I found another bug, Save/Load work fine in normal player, but it may bug sometime :

In Chapter 3, for epic quest, I saved it before start the invisible path (the one with Blue/Orange bubble).

after finish that quest with Omega Orb 3, I saved with new name and done for that day.

next day, I try load earlier saved so I can try for Omega Orb 6, but the Orange/Blue "bubble" never show and I can't do much without those bubble.

It bugs you can't fight against epic boss in chapter 7.

Xod is in the middle of chapter, but in west side.

Strange. But I think it might be one bug I can't fix: when there are too much effects done, sometimes almost all effects are not shown anymore.

Yea, i cant find him too...and 3 part of damned set(damned shoes i think)...Aero give us some help? And 1 more think, there is a bug in auction hall, there was different items but sudenly something is happen, and seller sold to me only health gem and mana gem...and nothing else...before that there was various items

with above combat king, Ring of Mega Rejuvenate become :
+1125hp
+565mana
+141damage

How can I make this chapter less 'boring'?

I am not sure, but I can list possible reason that make me feel "boring" :
- Shop ...... I want to buy something, but never want to visit them, I can wait for next chapter.
- Pathing... I hate the room can only enter from East/West/South wall
- Mini map ... mini map was useful in other chapter, but it is useless in this chapter.

in other chapter, I can remember the all important location after finish that chapter, but I can't remember anything for chapter 6 (except mini boss in far West room)

Suggestion:
- Remove "black mark" inside temple? or at lease shop area ?
- Put unique icon/color for shop (on mini map) after explored.
- pathing... either symmetry or linear ?

eg for Symmetry:
- two main path: West-East and North-South, and you can access room from those two main path

for linear :
- like Diablo2's chapel, one main hall lead to final boss, many side hall with mini boss.

Actually now that I remember before I had a special map in this chapter which made things a lot easier. I could put it back. Yeah I'll put it back. Then it's gonna be pretty easy.

for Chapter 6, there are one mini-game with 4 "Iron Gate", I think this mini game suck because player can get stucked (require load game to continue play)

also on Chapter 7 team arena fight, I get stucked after 3rd or 4th fight(2xRanbow Dancer), I killed both enemy while they casting some big spell, but the game never get teleport out. enemy's corpse still there with some glowing effect, I have a spell that summon hand to attack enemy every x second, and I saw this "hand" attacking corpse. (or attacking invisible dummy)

Here is a bug I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned. Lightning spiral does not upgrade and still wastes honor points when you try. I am also wondering from replaying several chapters, is there really the amount of flowers it says there are on the multi-board? I did find them all in chapter one but in chapter 2 I am 10 off. I've scoured the entire map and am not seeing where these could be. I would understand if I was 1 or 2 off but 10? Same with chapter 3...

I spent my week playing to this :goblin_yeah:.

Truly it's a great campaign. The story is decent enough and the gameplay is all but boring. I think the best quality of it is how much work you put in : there are always things to discover, side-quests, mini-games... (I'm only at chapter 7 and it's increasingly full of quests). I'm not a fan of food system but it's the only one (the item / difficulty / digging / alchemist / esper / etc... systems are good enough for me). The chapter 6 is long but it didn't bore me, personnaly.

But it's too much obvious that it's a beta in my opinion : there are too much major bugs. I didn't read all the thread (lol) to see which ones have been said but here are some :
- In chapter 4, after the boss fight at south east, I was having an incredible food value, like 2M (the figure was too big too be fully displayed and the life regen was as if I had 0). After eating some food, it went back to 0 and then it was ok.
- In chapter 6, I had a fatal error twice during a fight against a Death Bringer (I think it's his name : the big Spirit Walker). I manage to kill them all so it was not unavoidable. Maybe this bug is a compatibility issue because I'm under Linux but I generally never have a fatal error due to Linux (if it is Linux's fault, it may be because a custom model has a little glitch armless for window users).
- Sometimes, the hero's sight dramatically drops (to ~200). This bug happens when a hero revives (maybe when he revives too fast) but is quiet rare. However, he keeps that sight through chapters : my Galeoth can't see anything when he is alone.
- Some attack modifier, like the 3rd hero skill which deals damages depending on the hero's mana, are triggering when the hero initialize the attack move, so you can deal huge damages by clicking on "stop" repeatively.
I hope this helps. I didn't mention bugs which I know you are aware of.

Also, the loading time (and sometimes, the lag) is irritating. I think you can widgetize the object datas in a campaign : it would worth it. There are surely other ways to optimize that.

Despite that, it's really entertaining (I played it with my bad computer that makes 10 minutes to load a chapter : it's good enough for me to wait:thumbs_up:) and I wish you good luck for later versions.

I agree with what he said, there are still some bugs like in the first chapter when I had to kill the ogre boss in the cave and save the people for example. After I killed him and finished the quest, nothing happened and the game didn't move forward. I got over it now but it happened to me twice. Dunno if there's something I did wrong to trigger that bug but it didn't repeat after I tried the 3 time. This was the most annoying thing, to start the game again and again.
Also, the loading time is too great, but having a awesome computer the game didn't lag.
Just make sure that there are no extra objects or to many badly placed lights because it will make the game lag, try to be as efficient with the terrain and all entities in the map as you can.
Ps: I discovered a way to add an unlimited number of grass, flowers and vegetation without making wc3 lag. The secret is to remove the bones, the more bones there are in a map the higher the lag.

The same problem did occur to me quite often, while I know it could be different. In previous versions the invisible path puzzle did function properly with the blue and yellow bubbles showing up.

Also some spells do not show any effects, mainly Galeoths Frozen Storm.

Do you have any clue on how to prevent this from occuring?

Well, making less effects of course. I think after 10,000 effects are shown then no more effects. So what chapter you were playing when this happened?

Chapter 3 was most annoying with the yellow and blue bubbles gone missing.
The bug with frozen storm happened throughout the whole campaign (just see the brilliance aura manifestation but no waves.

Its also difficult in chapter 7 in the gladiator arena when the force waves of the Dragon Knight are not visible (like I already mentioned in TCO website)

Any hints on what chapter the espers are?
I found one in when you first use the ice mage dude in the icy mountains.

Also, questions.
Do you need to kill the doom lord in chapter 5 first before he teleports away or is that part of the quest?

Why won't the pumpkin king die? I've "killed" him like half a dozen times and he keeps coming back.

Does the combat kings last only for one chapter?

How do you open the barriers like the one in chapter 2 just next to the mausoleum of the guy who made the dragon slayers?

Can somebody reply me, i just dont get ogre quest in mission 1. When i killed ogre boss and try to rescue that guys, they just standin there. I just dont get what i should do...

First off, I only registered today to comment on this campaign. It is that good!

Really love what you have done with this campaign. The characters are all interesting and the skills are well balanced from what I have tested. Figuring out how to defeat the epic encounters was very entertaining.

I have only finished the 3rd chapter so far, but I hope that you continue working on this project. It is the first hack and slash RPG mod I have played that did not feel like a total cliche.

Keep up the good work!

Okay let's see. Thanks for the comments. I've been playing Skyrim last one week so I haven't focused on the campaign. After I've completed the game I'll continue making the campaign. Also makers must have fun sometimes!

I'll fix the Combat King - Magic Torment by giving it 1 sec cooldown I guess that will do the job.

The version I downloaded didn't seem very optimized and is surely not widgetized.

There are hundreds of models in the campaign the optimizer can't optimize them so that's why the loading time is so huge. Well I'm not sure if that's the reason but I believe so.

4.9wc3mapoptimizer = best at reduce map size (your map is so big so size doesn't matter)
Widgetizer 1.3.0.9 = best at reduce loading time

Effect of optimization on Pyramidal loading:
Raw Map ~ 4 min 10 sec
Vex Optimizer ~ 3 min
Vex Optimizer + Ultimate Map SLK Optimizer ~ 2 min 5 sec
Vex Optimizer + Widgetizer ~ 1 min 50 sec


I think the one that reduce loading time is "Clean SLK and Text file"

Aha. Okay, good to know. I hope this works well together with my campaign optimizator...

What settings you prefer? Those?

Just try out Widgetizer with difference setting, and see which setting reduce loading time, then only use that one.

some bug always happen when you use them together. so you need to find out "safe" setting, because every map is difference.


I use "Vex Optimizer + Ultimate Map SLK Optimizer", (but SLK Optimizer do not work on campaign file.)

Here is what I did :
- run Vex Optimizer first, disable everything, except script optimizer
- run 2nd SLK Optimizer with SLK & remove editor only file.

hey bro, i played chapter 1, and i think there a bug= ogre quest, after beating ogre boss, i dont see the man that give me the quest

load time for this campaign so long, and terrain isnt too good

this campaign the greatest i ever played

Excellent map, but I have discovered a rather silly problem with Phodom when I played chapter one!

When you use Spinning Death, you sometimes begin to channel meditate, and when you try to channel meditate, you use Spinning Death! For the former, you just get smacked by creeps and it goes off, and for the latter, your mana regain is drastically reduced. Hopefully you can fix this problem!

Game crash to desktop :

- last difficult on 2nd row
- Phodom during boss fight outside his house (after killed his children & wife)

this boss cast instant kill spell and kill me instantly, game crash when he cast same spel again(I die instantly), I think I have divine heal on me when he cast 2nd time ?

game crash with fatal error.

I don't really like instant kill spell, it happen so often :( (like chapter 4 epic boss, chapter 6 etc)

I'm using that other optimizator plus a special campaign optimizator. However using the campaign optimizator plus the one you suggest doesn't work together. I'll ask from the creator if he could make some changes... Let's hope so.

You can avoid those "instant spells" pretty easily. They're suppose to make the fights a little bit more strategic.

I can't seem to get out from Chapter 5 Basement even after killing the two vampire lords.

Yea it bugs. :[

terrain isn't too good??? terain is amaizing if u look any other map or champaign. Since u played only first chappter don't judge too soon because terrain by itself could be your enemy later on ( u'll see what i mean after u finish a few more chapters).

Is there any specific way to find those black merchants? I've been searching the one that sells the Excallibur Sword for ages.

At chapter 6 and Chapter 2, I've suffered from these few problems. Generally, they all involve Fradz and game crashing.

Chapter 2
-Necrophiliac boss jumps and lands on me, taking away 90% of my life bar and killing me with a normal hit. Game crashes.

Chapter 6
-Dark Messiah uses triple shockwave on Fradz, instakill. Game crashes.
-Executioner uses special ability on party, the one where he channels some blue aura. Fradz dies, game crashes.

EDIT:
Should I download a new version, let's say, 1.7, and I'm currently using 1.6d, will my give up resources be transferred over?

But what gives the game crash? I don't know. It's not those bosses abilities, it's something else I don't know...

yup, i mean just ch1 isn't too good, other ch really good

Okay maybe then I can do something about it.

How much steal resist does Mielipouli have? It's really hard to steal from him.

Perhaps Fradz dying causes the game to crash. :D
