wool u have impoved ur skills much more in recent days ~ good work with the face , well done , mate

Thanks man. How are you doing lately? Haven't talked in a long time. How are your models coming along?

Agreed, looks fantastic.

:)

you know this guide is good for picking up colors, you could use max render to texture to help you add emphasis on certain areas.

Guide

EDIT:
Oh oops, I mean this one: Character design Page 3 and 11 pretty much is the thing i want you to look at. In the case of wc3, the gradiante shouldn't be linear but more stepped so it keeps the cartoonish feeling.

The other one is better for sculping, but I'm leaving it as well.

Wow, thanks! Really useful, I'll definately take a look at it. The one is useful as well, though not as relevant for WC3.

I am really sad to hear that you won't do Blackhand. He is the most badass warlord right now... =( At least I want to see Killrog then !

Heh, well I never said it was my plan to do all the WoD Warlords. I simply chose Grom because I liked his design, same goes for Durotan if I make him. If I don't like the designs of the Warlords, I'm not gonna make them. And again, I already made Blackhand based on the REAL Blackhand from the concept art.

I might make Kilrogg, but I will probably mix the designs from WoD and the old concept art, as his WoD design is very boring. Too empty.

No man :p I mean the thing Homer Simpson and Grom Hellscream have in common xD
That goatee thing above the lips

BTW, maybe give him a strap for his shoulder pad? Looks weird if it's just hanging there

o_O dude, Grom never had a goatee.. I'm sorry, I can't really figure out what you're referring to. Above the lips? Normally a goatee is on the chin, which would be under the lips...

If you're talking about the black part under his nose, that's just the shadow cast from his nose.

Waitt actually I meant that white part above his lips.

Oh that. That's just the shading on his upper lips. It's not actually a beard, it's just the lighting that changes.
Anyway I did actually add that, I just think it's too overdone on Blizzards texture.

WIP:

Started doing some shading on his torso. Haven't added the strap for his shoulderpad.. I think it would look bad as a texture. I might have to add that as geometry later on.

dammit, looks so fun to Texture like that :p

It's a lot of fun.. You should try it out ;)

So which parts are gonna be team colored? Those black parts there? Or were you planning to put metallic textures on top of those?

Yeah, the plan is adding team color on the black areas. I think it makes the most sense.

I think the green is to bright... But nice anyway! ;)

Hmm, I don't really agree there. Try looking at the grunt texture or some of the other orcs - they're all a pretty bright green. And thanks :)

Maybe add in some dirt? Orcs don't strike me as very clean.

While this is true, the absolute most important thing to remember when texturing is not realism. It's the art style. Whatever I make has to fit in with the other models. So, seeing as none of the other orcs in the game are dirty, I'm making him squeaky clean as well ;)

Still doing shading on his torso:

Progress is a a little slow, but getting there. I'm quite satisfied with the results so far.

The texture looks awesome but I have to be honest with you. There's something off about it and I just don't know why :/ I feel like there's something wrong about the texture. Damn I hate judging :p Im not sure what I hate about the texture though even though it looks great. I just don't have the same feels for it like your Blackhand model or the Orgrim one.

Dunno hehe, each to his own I guess. From a technical standpoint, I'd say this one is much better textured than the other two so far.

A couple more pics before I sleep:

*Shoots self in the head, unable to understand the wondrous magic at hand, that Tauer has grasped within his modeling*

Haha

Tauer, great work, man.

Thanks :)

Nice, I wonder how his axe will be

Looking forward to making the axe :D

Now if you get to his pants, please try some raggedy old look for those.

Definately ;)

That's so HD man... That's like a whole new design for a Warcraft 4 thing :D

Hehe, thanks. But not really though. If we ever get a WC4 (please God) it's sure to be a friggin' beautiful game, way better than anything I can ever hope to do :p
Just look at the new WoD models. Even though I don't like all of the designs, I can't deny that they're pretty darn eye candy.

Still texturing:

Gloves are done. Slowly texturing my way down...
