Dude i think that in warcraft and wow, should Horde and The Alliance unite against Scourge and defeat it... and then they would live in peace and fight only in arena and battleground ... but that didnt happened ... so in this you should do it :)

Thanks for replying.
Though I think there should be a bit more that the old story of Arthas dies ect.
I dont know making him good I would love to see but a bit to too good to be true. Anyway mabey bring something other than the scourge in and then all the factions must unite (even the scourge in its own way) to kill or drive back the intruders, for Azeroth.

No offense guys, but come on, Little Red Riding Hood is more interesting than that. What people want is a breathtaking story where evil devastates good and the good struggles to reach a peaceful life that just seems out of reach. Warcraft III got the popularity because you could play both sides, no advance of good over evil and that made the game to become epic.
Now, I always wanted to make a sequel in the old WE, but I lacked skill and people. Nevertheless, I continued developing the story and hoping that one day someone makes a project like this one. Now, after many years, most of my material got lost, but I still have 2 campaigns written in short terms. If you are interested in seeing my writings I can send you them in a private message. Yes or no?

The New Dawn: Storyline

Opening Cinematic - A World in Ruin.
All Azeroth, Northrend and Outland are in ruin. Decrepit buildings litter the landscapes. Animal corpses are seen rotting on the ground, picked at by cruel, featherless birds. The forests, too, are dead; none living walk the dusty wastelands.

Stormwind is a ghost-riddled relic. Oggrimar's flags are torn, covered in dust. The wisps of Sacred Darnassus have twinkled and gone out. No warrior cries out in vengeance, no voices ring out to the gods. No songs are sung.

Beyond the gates of the Black Citadel, where Arthas once sat as king, a hungry brood rumbles. Here we see one; it wears the tattered garb of an elvish priest, fighting with another for an object unknown. Others circle the duo, yammering, among them faces that were once human, and orc and elf. Their eyes betray their nature - dark and hollow, devoid of soul. Finally the once-elf falls, her tattered garb now smeared with grime and dried blood and the object she held is seen in its full light.

It is the head of Arthas and, on it, the crown of the Frozen Throne.

The warcraft storyline started going wrong when blizzard decided to make gameplay dictate writing (WoW). While they also chose gameplay first for WC3 they still manged to keep the warcraft universe in tact. To write wow they had to retcon and add all kinds of stupid shit; blood elves in silvermoon, amani trolls, father winter, warrior gnomes, the eredar/draenei misnomer, elves allying with forsaken and orcs and trolls. All to make wow gameplay "epic", they should have just improved gameplay or introduce more factions w/e. Personally I think that 25 little guys attacking a giant illidan is rediculous by anyones standards. A good story doesn't tell or show you what you want to here and see it has a message and a struggle with real loses. So my recommendation is if you want to make a good story start fresh right after the lich king CONTROLS arthas... so stupid that they made arthas more then a slave after ner'zul entered his body, he should be nothing but a husk.

Of course you will need to add new characters to the story.

I understand gameplay is essential. But you must also remember that story and gameplay must be woven together. That gameplay mechanics are written on par with video game story. Any great video game story has mechanics in mind and the gameplay is written with story in mind.

Warcraft 1-3 were great games because they accomplished this. Any great games have also.

This game/mod/map/campagin. Will be a great rendition of what happened after WC3 which was a giant cliff hanger. You have the Azerothian Kingdoms, Iron Forge Dwarves, Theramore, Human Surviviors in Lordaeron, the Night Elves and Druids. And hell the burning legion, kael'thas and Illidian. You have infinite supply of information. Can't wait to see the end result one day.

Woadrider said nicely what we all think.
I don't like the idea where in different chapters you play different races. Race change must happen with campaign change. I have worked out stories for the first two campaigns I tried to make to continue the story of wc3 in world editor, but I couldn't finish them. Mine first campaign happens after Arthas became LK, you play the Scourge (with Lich and Anubarak at charge) which attacks Khaz Modan. I thought about similar advancement through Khaz Modan as in wc3 through Quel'Thalas. Also they would deal with the Forsaken. The second campaign would be a blood elf one. I wouldn't ressurect Illidan, as by my opinion it was a terrible idea in WOW. Kael and Vashj would kill the Draenei, fight with the Scourge and bring Kiljaeden in Lordaeron and the BL would be back for another invasion.
These campaigns would also involve betrayals, some major character death, increase to lvl 20 of heroes (but other units would have stats improved, too). I had the stories worked out through chapters, but I don't have them anymore. Still I remember many things.
