Once you have joined a game on battle.net, you can disconnect from the internet and still have people on your LAN stay in the game (the host should stay on until the game starts though, as they need to be on for the game to show up on the game list).
So you're telling me to start the game on one computer with battle.net, then get onto battle.net with another computer, and join the game? doesn't work, never has, because
I can't even log onto battle.net with the second computer. I would have to buy another game AND another internet for that to work, I DON'T HAVE KIND OF MONEY, WE DON'T EVEN HAVE CABLE dispite having 3 TVs, WE CANCELED OUR WOW ACCOUT BECAUSE $20 A MONTH WAS TO MUCH, AND YOUR TELLING ME TO SPEND, WHAT, AN EXTRA $50 A MONTH FOR THIS?!
I just realized, your telling me to do a LAN! Even though you said, explicitly, that you were going to tell me how to do it WITHOUT using LAN! I can do LAN parties on WC3 and SC1 with no trouble, with or without the Internet.
and for the record, 5 $20 games is $100, and 5 $50 games(the cheapest SC2 will be for the next 2 years) is $250! I CAN'T PAY THAT FOR ALL 7+ GAMES WITH LAN SO I CAN PLAY LAN!
As for Piracy, They should jest use the CD keys they used for WC3 and SC1.
I have 4 coppies (of the same origonal disc) of SC so I can have LAN parties, but I can only go onto battle.net with one computer,
because there can only be one instance of a CD key on battle.net at any one time.
I have no problem with this.
I acualy think this is fair.
As for mods... I only care about Homeworld 2 and Team Fortress 2 mods, the rest, who cares?
Not me.
Not mention, the WorldEditor is so powerful, that mods are unecesary, just use custom maps.
