I'm having tremendous problems attaching the arm of my zombie to the torso.

The problem I'm encountering is, every time I attach the arm, the shoulder warps in animations requiring the arm to be extended forwards.

One person suggested I use the same trick WoW uses, but I can't work out how they got their model to not stretch/warp, because even with that method the shoulder deforms like a piece of clippy-lego.

Could somebody give me a hand with this?

Adding some bones to those surrounding verticies and animating them is probably the solution that will end up looking the best.

Or adding more polygons should reduce the stretching too.

This sketch is in no way accurate but I guess you know what I mean. After you've extended the mesh, these "in-between-polies" should be attached both to the arm bone as well as the chest bone to give it a smooth transition.

I might end up adding an extra bone on the shoulder that rotates only the connecting polygons to reduce the stretching

I literally stood in front of a mirror with my sleeves rolled up trying to work out how to bend the arm without warping and I only succeeded in waving my arms around for 5 minutes :p

    *Edit

Oh God, it's getting worse! D:
