Hey!
You returned (once) at least for 5 seconds!
2 months? Darn that is a long time. By then I will have probably started the cinematic.
I plan to start in a few days, after I do some non-
Warcraft related stuff, and fix my Jass problems (I plan to do the cinematic in GUI anyway, because it is easier to move and delete actions.)

I'd love to see some demos, because I really don't got much going on with my Wc3. I'm doing more stuff on the hive, and the rest I spend on Jasscraft, making little scripts for fun and practice. I NEED to learn how to use the Hashtable (Grayzzzz at HordeStudios DEFINITLY knows how to use them, and I'll just read his script.) and then I plan to maybe make a spell of something in my wait.
Any spell Ideas?

Spells for anything I guess. They could be for angus if I make them in certian ways, since knockbacking spells often send people to hidden places because they are walkable in pathing.
What spell should I make for anything? Jass is pretty unlimited as I've found out, and can still be pretty multi-unit-instanceable, as long as one unit isn't casting two spells at the same time, which is supposed to be impossible, unless badly triggered. =D

Im going to see if I can make the cultist boss demo and other demos later today. Ima start at around 12:00 - 1:00 pm. I just want to play a kickass WW2 game for a while. (Time of Wrath OWNS) Btw, for spell ideas... hm... well, since Angus is mostly a melee fighter hero, perhaps make an ability that is like an overhead slam or something, like it works similar to the ability War Stomp, but instead of stomping ON the hero, it stomps in FRONT of the hero. The spell will also act as if its war stomp, meaning the player will have to make sure the hero is facing the enemy before using it, or he can completely miss. Ill PM you a neater version of the idea though. It will be like as if the hero is using a overhead strike.

Yeah, I could already see how easy that one would be... Just a dummy unit in front of the main unit.
I plan to have a pretty @#$%ed up day today, so I won't be on much after this morning.

Some magic, but you know, like melle magic, like stuff that make his weapon and armor magical, but not throwing fireballs at people.
Boomerrangs are awesome, but I gotta find out how that one works. I might need to do some math, and that is what I am awesome at....

(Got to page 8, and on individual results for math bowl 2009, in 7th grade, Matt Vosters (me!) is in first place. The math bowl i basically a competition for the smartest kids of schools in Northeast Wisconsin.)
 
Wow... cool..! and yes i agree, or like this (maybe)

Battleharrow, every time angus is struck by a blow, he has a chance to an incredibly fast retaliation blow, the higher the damage of the attack the higher the chance that he will retaliate, but the lower amount of dmage he will do... gotta get off for an hour or two now...

However, I think Angus should atleast have 1 healing spell. I mean, he has slayed many beasts and demons before, maybe he knows some magic to defeat them? (like holy magic) but I dunno about that either, since most holy magic goes to paladins and priests, and obviously, angus is not a priest :). Or maybe we can have it like a combat/heal spell, like he does a defensive roar that boosts his armor by a bit and heals him by a bit, then after a duration his armor goes back to normal. Thats too simple though, I think we should fancy that idea up or something if we decide to go with it.
 
ok back, and yes a combat healing ability would be nice... lets give hims some dark-ish powers jut to intensify the feeling that his is by no means a really nice awesome guy, he is a mercenary warrior who has maybe had some shamanistic training (born to some woodland clan?) and he fights for payment. so he may have some ablilitys that seem... evil?...

Also, this may seem a bit nubbish, but after not triggering for a long time im a bit rusty, how do u make a computer player boss cast spells? Or do I have to switch the boss to neutral hostile.

Hm, k wait for flat to come back and he will invite u in :). But also, If you do come up with ideas, be sure to PM the other people who are working on the same style. Like if u do a boss, PM me, flat, and asomath so we can all give our opinions on it, and even sudgestions. lol Im working on my Cultist Boss demo now. I finished all the triggers, just have a bit of buggy problems happening every time i try it out again. Like the boss not using spells, so untill I get the answer to my question above, ima have to use triggers for the boss to use abilities, which is really bad. Once I get the answer of how to make it so the boss uses its abilities, ill bring the demo in :).

Depends on how you want him to cast them.
If he does it when you tell him to use: Unit- Order unit to -use one of the constants here- [whether it is a point/unit/self spell]
If you want him to cast it like he normally would in combat, base it off of a PREMADE ability, and make sure it is NOT channel.


how that rather LARGE fact makes channel better, I do not know.
How to trigger in JASS, I now know, and I'm determined to take-off! (Suggestion: If you got a nooby first spell, post it at Hordestudios, because they are pretty accepting....)

Well, I dont feel like editing the demo again to redo the custom spells I put in, so im gunna post the map anyways. Btw, the boss will use certain abilities when u smack him with ur hammer (as i said, too lazy to edit it again) but if the ability is on a cool down, he wont use it until its ready again. Also, your hero can use holy light on himself for healing.

BTW, here is some tips, for u will need it during the fight.

Cultist Boss Tips

Tip 1: Do NOT ASSUME - As the title says, do not assume that the boss's abilities are easy going and not much of a problem. The massive 6 second stun + mobs = poor u. Like some guy said before.. "Do not Assume! Never Assume! For if you assume, you make a ass out of u, and me! (Ass)(u)(me) :).

Tip 2: Zombies Hurt
- Zombies have a 80% chance to stunlock you, so stay away from them. They die in 35 seconds after being spawned.

Tip 3: Its Not Impossible - Save up your mana after u kill the abomination for if you dont, you will most likely die in the final phase. Skeletons are able to do high dps if they surround you, and if u have no mana u will die. ALSO, if you do not kill the Cultist before he casts Death and Decay, you will also die. Do not let the skeletons surround u, for if they do, most likely u will die unless u escape them.

Remember to read the phases as well in the first post of this thread so u can defeat the Cultist Boss!

lol thx. It would have been more better if I was not as lazy as I am today, and actually made it so Death Pact works better and so that the boss casted spells on his own, but meh, still good i guess.

@OMonaxos: Oh, sorry OMon. You can help us out if u truly want to. Since Flat is currently going on and off, and not really able to visit this thread, I will just act in his presence. Welcome to the team. Do you have anay ideas you would like to share now?

@noob134: Everything is going good. Since Asomath, and Flat are busy though, progress got a bit slower, but not by much. We are currently making demos for certain bosses/random stuff of the project. And now we got a new team member, OMon :).

@TheHunterKiller: Well for a really good, and long-lasting RPG we shall need for it to be long :). And we just nearly started, and havn't actually began making the terrain/map, although we may soon. We would like to have the brainstorming, for the most part, done before we actually begin crafting the map and such. For now, download the demos that are released by the members of the team if you wish, so you can try certain aspects (even some boss fights! But that will be limited...) until then. I am going to update my demo soon so it will actually be more effective/better. Check a couple of posts up to see the current Cultist Boss demo that I released, but needs updating :).

That means soon I'm gonna have to pull some stuff out of the "unspoken" members, like Leet.Firefox, Misha, and Asomath (Who is partially spoken)

Edit: We are going to add more spells, were just not to that yet.
You probably get to choose like some maps you've seen.

Well dude, that is not gunna be the hero :). That is a placeholder for we havn't started on the actual hero. The hero's abilities shall be based on him, his stats, and his current weapon that he has equipped. I like the new ability for the demo, summons do help for helping against the abomination/final phase, but the only thing is that the spell that was removed to place that ability in, (thunder clap) was also something that helped alot during the fight, for it is the ultimate skeleton-clearer. So I am gunna remove devotion aura, and add thunderclap in. In the next version of the demo, the spells for the boss will actually work, and he will recieve a new spell, muahahhaha!

I got no idea where mr. insert comment is. I am going to start thinking of the spells for Angus as well. And Patch 1.24? for wc3?

Well, our current plan is to make this campaign singleplayer, because there are already plenty of multiplayer RPGs that consist boss fights.. but there is never a truly awesome singleplayer-bossfight campaign. And Single Player Boss Fights tend to force the player to apply more action. Maybe when the project is done, we may consider making different versions of this for multiplayer, but for now, it will stay singleplayer :). And demos are free for everyone! But NOTE: As vosty said, The content withen the demo is subject to change during the making of this campaign, but they will be updated when the changes are..err..changed?

Flat suggested we wait till SC2 comes out....
Killed as of 1 hour ago.
Sc2 comes out in 2010, and screw that.


MAYBE, when we are all done (don't even think about it right now) we will make a mulitplayer map similar to Impossible bosses, but less lag (more Jass) and kewler fights.

We plan to upgrade the warcraft experience, with all sorts of kewl stuff. Not just "Dodge me!"

Just one question, which is based on your opinion.
What music should we use?
I know SoL has got some, but you can use basically ANY music, because I've seen it all done.

I also need some stuff to build the inside of my castle. I'm just using Dalaran Violet Citadel as my outside.

Hm... for music it should be something calmish yet heroic music for the castle, but I got nothing on me head :). I will think on that later. BTW, I am updating the demo for the cultist, which will probably be up later on tonight or early tomarow. We shall see :).

Yeah I know. Im not the best triggerer. The Circle of Power was actually supposed to light up when the acolytes are walking to it, and the Cultist Boss is supposed to show a teleport effect when he ehm.. teleports. I also forgot to add some more sounds to the boss. Not only that, But i didnt even set the atmosphere to the boss, like I didnt set the environment. I didnt fix it to midnight, I didnt add any weather. I assure you, when we all decide to make a really really good demo of the campaign, it will look much much spazzier, and better then my little thing. I am gunna have to update the demo much later tomarow, for things got in the way :).
