There are many bosses left. Some are...
An ice monster. (I'd love to see a dragon fight!)
a monster that spawns many tentacles.
Any suggestions are always nice for a new genre.

Third opinions are always nice.

I think the best looking one is the undead lindormr dragon (the second one). I'd also prefer to use that model particularly because the fight I am planning will have the boss change from being on the ground and flying, so it's good that that model has those features.

Well, let me give the village chapter a bit more detail. Chapter 4 will be a chapter where our hero ends up stumbling upon a village with many problems. This village shall be in a forested summer-area. But make your dragon with ice or anything, and we will decide whether he will be in chapter 4 or in another chapter with a different situation

We get new idea guys everyday. I like having lots of opinions, because more people's idea vary.
We will definitely add you.
A normal dragon could be nice too. (jus got a have a pimped model. Wc3's are nor very nice.)
We will just make the frozen farm, later ingame.
WE also gotta make a level with a monster that has tentacles, and the mission must have high cooperation with the wood elves.
Still waiting on that castle. (Is anyone even making it? It says we got a modeler.) and a few other models me and Flat will pick and choose, AND Asomath's voice overs (that is the awesomest part of this campaign, and Chapter Prelude will begin!

EDIT: About the dragon. What if you fight part of it on it's back while it flies? (classic. I know)

Well I believe that the tentacle beast should be one of the final bosses. Because that one will probably require plenty of interaction. And it just seems like a real bad-ass boss. :). Tomorrow I am going to begin boss-storming again. It would be cool if Misha can begin modeling (LOL.. sounds funny) on that castle and stuff. Also, has anyone done any story writing on our hero's background? If not, I will start brainstorming on that as well, cause so far all we know about our hero is that he is currently a nomad/mercenary, but has slain demons/monsters in the past. This way we can get a new feeling for our hero and it will help more with the storyline. We also know that he has a touch of a Rogue-like personality, which is how he handled that guy asking for a mass amount of money (giving him a fake rupee :) ). Also Asomath is doing voiceovers!?!? ZOMG... kickass!

Yes. Apparantly Asomath is part of some league of voice actors for commercials and stuff. He has offered to get us voice for our campaign.
Just keep making bosses. I will flow the story around them. (I got it figured out so far. I'm just waiting on Flat for some details.)

Too bad it wasn't on top of the dragon as it flies!

What are those ideas? Are they private like that last 3 or so bosses? Or can they be public?

PS: what does Cse'tian look like. I think I might have our loading screen guy make a sweet drawing of him in a sweet backrground or something like coming out of a portal.

I've got a little map rigged up that shows a little bit of how I'm envisioning the Salkerug boss I proposed earlier. It just shows a little town square, what Salkerug looks like during the first two phases (perched up on a tower), and how the third phase could work (with the ballistae).

I can't find a way to attach anything to a private message, so I will just have to put it here. Note that I just used simple GUI triggers for everything, and they leak. But the entire purpose is just to give an example, so I didn't bother with getting in-depth.

Try to hit Salkerug with the ballista by running up to the circle of power behind it.

The demo was nice. It was fun, and the triggers were clever.

Other than to show what it would look like, the guy on the tower don't do stuff.
There is also no win condition. But it is a DEMO, and you made it, so credit is yours.

What if the mission was like a mini-Aos? (one or two lanes)
The boss hides on the other side, while your base has just got some damn artifact or headquarters or something...
Other idea...
One general, who is invulnerable, unitl the 4 flagbearers of his army are dead, and the flagbearers are invulnerable, until all his surround troops/mages are dead.
Like that one loads!

I was thinking that there should be a bossfight based off a large scale battle with loads of units that look like they are fighting, and the goal is to kill the enemy leader or the use archer strikes and trebuchets to destryo the army, or both...

I came back and was going to introduce that idea with my return as well as some other junk.

Cool idea, and that should be a part, but i was thinking a castle, where you run along the walls and order archers and trebuchets to fire on small cohorts of incoming enemies... but the troops just sti there in a line trading blows forever, occasionally the just die, and new lines come in, butyou need to help by using archer strikes etc... and maybe kill powerful monsters with balistae on the wall... :D

Thanks for posting screenshots, vosty. I didn't even bother, huh.

The guy on the tower in the center is just to show how I was thinking of having Salkerug be roosted up there. I don't really know how to script really cool spells though, so I didn't put any in the demo.

I'd really like to see Salkerug with a flame-thrower-like effect that he can spray down from up there.


EDIT: Some things that I did have problems with were the timing of the ensnare and the fact that it suddenly makes the unit appear on the ground instead of having it slowly fall. The timing was difficult to get precise because the dummy unit that uses the ensnare takes a little while to be created and cast the spell, even though the cast time is instant. Because of that, it can sometimes look like the dragon has moved too far from the target area and still gets snared.

I sent Flat the full battle info, though I don't have all the spells yet. I'll send the overview to you as well.
Like the battle. Spanky is determined to thwart you as main boss (it seems like a violent struggle for power. That's why I bought a gun!)

I've made a much better working demo for Salkerug now. Instead of creating a dummy unit to ensnare Salkerug, I set it up so that Salkerug will gain the ensnare buff, while at the same time transforming to it's ground form. This kills two birds with one stone: not only is the ensnare effect instant now (making the timing much better), but Salkerug now slowly falls to the ground in a smooth animation.
