I wonder though this. Could it be that Largoth serves the mysterious figure that appears in the trailer for the Second Books, or at least be aware of it? And will this 'hidden evil' decide to appear and take action just like Aridon, or stand neutral? And what about the Forgotten, are they aligned with this new figure or not? If the Demon Legions are some kind of Arkain's conterparts to the Burning Legion, could he or she be the Old Gods' conterpart?

This campaign is really making me question everything and I am enjoying it!
Hate to do this but...Do not double post...It is agains the rules.Just edit the previous post if you had something new to add
Shar said this campain is not related to WC in anyway. So we don't even know if there are old gods

I didn´t knew. I just realized today how to hide spoilers or things related to spoilers.
I found a mistake or bug in chapter six: after I destroyed the two bases it says 'Main Quest Completed: Undead Intervention' and then 'Side Quest Completed: Undead Intervention'. After Largoth betrays the undead and when he destroys the base it says 'Side Quest Failed: Dragons of Ice'.Why did I worked so hard to protect the boneyard if in the end it ends up destroyed one way or another?

Ladies and gentleman,

it's hard for me to write these lines since I have something sad to announce to you this day:
After a long time of consideration, I've decided to quit this project and leave the Hive for good. I've realized that - since the release of the First Human Book - I stopped being pleased by the way this project was going. Everything after the First Human Book became worse and worse, in both story and gameplay aspects. I can't accept this anymore.
I considered continuing the series as a book but I lack the time to write a book because of my job. Also, I won't allow ANYONE to continue this series since no one has any idea about the future of the storylines.
I'm sorry.

Read this for further information:
GODDAMNIT, you didn't actually believe that, did you? It's just my (late) April's Fools joke! As if I'd ever stop this project before it is finished! ;)
Progress on the next chapter is going well, I think the release of Chapter Seven shouldn't take so long.
Have a nice day!

Don´t scare the fans of these campaigns like that! I was shocked until I read the hidden information. :goblin_jawdrop:

Damn, i believed you actually xD. 1 thing tho, im not sure if someone mentioned this already but in Ch2, HotKeys for Death Coil and Cripple are the same. Not a major issue but it would be nice if you could pass Cripple to Revenge ( IMO it fits better to him also, as a sin). Love your story so far, i really didnt have much chance to play a long , quality campaign in a long time. Just, Thank you.

HAHAHA!You got me there! You almost game a heartattack! Its annoying how i fell for that joke but it made me emotional until i saw the "Further Information" Anyways, The most nicest one that you posted in the game was
Gardon will be a main hero in The Second book.
BTW, Gardon is getting too overpowered with his ultimate so...to be fair, can you put it a bit less damage like 15 damage aura or 10 to be exact? Well its up to you so good luck! :goblin_good_job:

Version 0.60 released

General:
- Changed Rahandir's Dragonslayer Upgrade to an Attribute Bonus ability due to bugs that occured

Chapter Two:
- Changed Cruelty's hotkeys

Chapter Six:
- Side Quest will no longer be marked as failed in the Epilogue

Chapter Seven:
- Completed Chapter Seven

I had to change Rahandir's abilities due to bugs that were caused by them (WarCraft doesn't seem to like the Dragonslayer Upgrade), so you'll have to play Chapter Three again - unless you want to play with less ability points.

If it is not too much to ask, could you please put the trigger which allow us the possibility to use items of deceased heroes?

Let me explain. Along the campaign, Veringar has found very useful items and there wasn´t enough room to put in other heroes' inventories. In the sixth mission he was killed and so did all the items he had. I just think it is a great waste. The items he had could appear in the next mission so that my other heroes could use them.

This is just a suggestion though. I am okay if you don´t do it.

Don't worry, you'll get them at a later point. You have to keep in mind that Chapter Six and Seven play at the exact same time, it wouldn't make sense if you already got the items.

Thanks.
Yeah it would make far more sense once they figure out about Largoth's betrayal and Veringar's death.

I just finished the seventh mission and just remembered that the demon that serves Aridon is the same I beat in the human campaign! OMG! I just thought that demon was some sort of optional mini boss but instead he had a role! Well done! But I realized this. Why Aridon is not holding the Artifact of Life, the one Veringar gathered?

Excellent

I feel that other books follow the correct path of Human Book.

Btw, what does don't destroying tunnel in chapter five do? Since I don't feel anything changed yet.

And does it means destroying both bases in chapter six killed both sides commanders?

Btw, I feel Largoth's face looks strange when it's too near with the camera. I think that's Dreadlord face in General, so it's okay. I'm referring to Chapter Six Cinematic.

I'd rather say that all three follow the same route, it only looks like they followed the Human Book because it was the first to be released.

It will most likely change a later chapter. Also, keep in mind that this will be imported to the other Undead Books.

Yes, if you destroyed their bases (only if both!) both are dead.

Yeah, that's a model issue. Gonna take a look at it and move the camera a bit, if I dislike it.

Yeah, I have to agree with that.

It surely will and affect other books, but I was expecting it affect soon. I'm an impatient guy, I think.

I knew it! So I don't have to see them at other books. Though I'm confused which should be done. According to Human and Orc Books, Undead Forces ONLY decimates the fleets. This means they must be spared, correct?

Perhaps use Balnazzar or Tichondrius model?

I had the same question a few weeks ago. The books are not related to each other and they have separated stories. Each faction's actions differ from book to book. Plus they being defeated doesn´t mean they were killed.

I would like to see a map of Arkain one day. It would be interesting.

I replayed the two last undead missions and found two errors: in the sixth mission Largoth has 0 of armor (again) and in the seventh mission Rahandir has -1 (I don´t know how that is even possible).

Announcement
Bah, I absolutely hate announcing this, but I guess there's no other way...
I'm sorry to tell you that Chapter Eight has been cancelled. It was supposed to be a chapter about Krom and a special hunt that had been mentioned in the Orc Book (kinda), but it simply doesn't work out. While the concept of the map sounded absolutely amazing, the actual attempt to create the chapter showed that it'd be either be a short, boring filler chapter (sadly) or too repetitive to be interesting.
Again, I'm sorry for making the campaign shorter than I wanted it to be, but it's the only right choice here.

It is okay, at least for me. I really hate fillers so that is cool.
But I hope that the interlude will answer some questions and that there is some plot twists.

Progress report:
Working on the Interlude right now. It should make some things clearer while also introducing you to more parts of the lore. All of you will also soon be introduced to a "new" character. Stay tuned!

Spoilers for the next chapters ahead!
The Undead will soon send massive forces to intervene and fight the Demons directly. The next two chapters will include getting to the front and smashing the hell outta 'dem Demon scum - while also seeing Humans and Orcs killing each other.

Nice.
The time has finnaly come to bring the fight to the demons directly rather than fighting their slaves and put them in their place. I think I am going to laugh while seeing imperials and orcs fighting each other, while the demons are planning to kill them all.
I am curious who this character is. Could it be another that we didn´t find important in the other books?
By the way I am curious. I have seen humans, dwarves and elves among the demons' slaves, but I have never seen orcs. I found it hard to believe that in a race that relishes on war and pillage, there is no group that bowed to the demons.

Believe it or not, but there's not a single Orc who is serving the Demons or was enslaved by them. Despite of their savage and barbaric culture and behaviour, they'd rather die than serve the Demons.
Their mind works different than the one of Humans, Elves or Dwarves, making it impossible to manipulate them with mind control. It has something to do with their heritage, that might be discovered one day.
Also, keep in mind that the Demon race massacred almost half of the Orcs when the Orcs started their own invasion. The Humans and their allies had put up a good fight as well, but the Demons were the main reason why the Orcs lost. The Orcs don't share the Human's opinion that the Demons are their arch enemies and aren't afraid of using dark magic and other things that the Humans relate to the Demons, but they still absolutely despise Demons and all who serve them.

By the way, this just came to my mind:
The Orcs had no idea that the Demons had launched another big invasion. Since they only knew that Humans and Demons fight all the time, but never knew about the size of these battles, and also never encountered large Demon armies, they thought of it as if it was nothing but ordinary battles - until the final chapter where the gigantic Demon wave was announced. They won't stop fighting the other races, I can tell you that much - and I'm pretty sure that everyone already knows that this isn't WarCraft and the races won't just ally up against the Demons - in the other books, but the Orcs will finally realize the urgency of the Demon threat.

I just remember something.

At Chapter 4, why there's no ending story after the claiming of Artifact of Life? Only one sentence from Veringar?
It's okay though.

At chapter 5, I'm sure there are 2 artifacts on the map, both guarded by those golem thingies. If memory serves, I see one disappears when I picked up the other. I doubt it that much as I don't really have good memories bout this chapter.

At chapter 6, why we have restriction in building?
Also, on the first run, I suicide strike the naval shipyards and thought that was all I need, and it Doesn't said mission complete and fail realize the fleet then rage quit xD
On the second run, I instead overrun both bases and finally notices this "fleet" word on the main quest, I feel ashamed xD
Also, now I understand how Undead freakily destroy my naval on human and Orc books.

At chapter 7, I notices that this chapter test patience and tactic, as with the limited army, only Aridon and Sapphira can replenish the army with summons (unless I miss someone).

About incoming Chapter 8, does this means that all four sides will clash at once in the battlefield for the first time in the whole Campaign? (Correct me, but it haven't seen any chapter with all four races fighting each other on the other books)

Since this is a development thread for all Arkain books, I might as well post it here. I've found a bug in chapter two of the first human book.
(No spoilers ahead)
When the yellow orcs try to call for backup, and if they succeed, they will continue spawning at the top right corner of the screen. They will, as usual try to call for backup, but when they reach the bottom left corner of the screen, they return to their spawn location and endlessly countinue to mass like that in the top right corner, making a large yellow army.

In Chapter Nine (the final one) there will be the four major factions, yes, just like in the Orc final.

Interlude Two:
- Completed Chapter Seven

All of you who want to have Veringar's items back, have to play Chapter Six again (Yeah, there was some cache bug). Enjoy!

I have already watched the interlude, but not the chapter six.
So that is the true shape of the Sign of Life.
If you didn´t wanted to make a filler chapter, then you shouldn´t make references about it later. Honestly, after hearing Krom, I am curious of how he assassinated the chieftains.
Who is 'her' that Aridon wishes to reanimate?
I guess Rahandir has figured out that Gardon uses mind control to keep his men's loyalty. I remember Rangul discussing this in the orc book.

I made a reference in the Orc Book as well, but yeah, I know what you mean. However, I did this to create a connection between the books, so that you know who was responsible for killing the chieftains while you, as Orcs, fought Rahandir.

I just played the sixth chapter but I didn´t found Veringar's items. Plus there is still that bug where Rahandir has -1 of armor.
But the plot is getting exciting. A new possible hero for the undead? The final showdown is finnaly coming?
I am honestly surprised that Sapphira doesn´t old a grudge against Rahandir. I mean she seeks revenge against her people but Rahandir was the one that KILLED her. Is she grateful about this new chance of serving as an undead or is this due to Rahandir's control over her? Only time will tell right?

Chapter Six is the one with Veringar. You have to play it again in order to get the items on another mission later on.
Saphira blames the Queen and the Deathbreeze Clan for her death, not Rahandir. If he wouldn't have caught her, the Ocs would have most likely followed her. And she believes that the cause of the Undead is right, she is grateful for this chance and yeah, perhaps her being controlled by Aridon is responsible as well, but you could say this about most Undead.

Once I again, I'm happy to bring to you a little story I've written. It should make a certain event of the First Orc Book much clearer. Enjoy!

Dark Heart and Mind

I sat in the corner and sighed. I had no idea how long it had been since they threw me in this prison. I was alone for hours. Sometimes, the guards passed by, but they wouldn't dare say a word. I didn't know why, but they only looked at me, grim expressions in their faces. They despised me, they couldn't understand that I wasn't one of them. I've never been one of them. I was raised far away from them, by an Orc as an Orc among Orcs who couldn't accept me either. Only the one who raised me, the one I even called father, and the one I called brother really accepted me. Others tolerated my presence, but I never got anything from them without fighting for it – but that was a common thing among Orcs. I was happy that I had so many opportunities to prove my worth. I had forgotten everything that was before.
My orcish foster father said that he'd unite the Orcs one day. That he'd create a future for his people that would make them get the life they deserved. While pillaging was part of the culture, it shouldn't be the limit. He wanted to see the Orcs in their own kingdom, he kept telling me. I loved listening to him and discussing his plans with him. He also insisted that I'd have a respected position in that future. I had forgotten so much.
I was more than happy to fulfil every single order he had for me. It wasn't the first time he sent me to infiltrate the Empire, not the first time I got information for him since the Humans always believed that I was one of them. However, on the last mission, they caught me. I still have no idea how they could have found us, but they had. The Imperial knights rushed the camp we had built just a few hours ago and killed everyone inside, excluding me. I managed to escape while the Orcs sacrificed themselves for me. In the end, it was in vain. I reached a Human village and tried to get through unnoticed. While doing so, I overheard many talks between the Humans. Before, I had never really cared about their small-talk, I was only interested in the things I knew. I realized that the Humans and the Orcs weren't so different.
However, before I could start to ponder about this, the knights found me. They had noticed me when I escaped and rode after me. This time, there was no escape, no battle. They caught me. There was a mage in brown clothes who accompanied them. He just had to wave his hand and I couldn't move anymore. I was helpless, when they enchained me. The mage had a short talk with one of the knights before he and half of the knights were on their way. The knights said, there was someone who wanted to talk with me.
I was thinking about this capture, when I suddenly heard noises and looked up. From far away, I could see light. A tall figure, bearing a torch, was coming my way. I could already hear the heavy armor from afar. When he came closer, I noticed the dark armor he was wearing and knew who it was. It was the very person I had been brought to after the knight captured me. I had never seen anyone else with this armor. It was black with some golden ornaments on it, but that wasn't all of it. Being a magic user myself, I could FEEL the magic of this armor. Dark magic. He put the torch aside and looked at me. The torch allowed me to see his face. It was completely cold. He didn't say a single word, he just looked at me.
"What is it?!” I asked him. I wasn't scared of him – unlike the Imperials. I had heard several tales about him, claiming that he was the most intimidating, living Human. But I was no Imperial, I grew up among Orcs. Orcs don't fear their enemies. He didn't reply. Instead, however, he opened my cell and entered. From this close, I could see how tall he was. Had he been an Orc, he would still be tall in comparison to others. Even taller than my foster father.
"You have only a limited amount of time until the Orcs will be here, Imperial. You should run, you cannot hope to have the power to withstand them!” I told him after some time of silence. When I said "power”, he seemed to be amused. He smiled. He claimed that I had no idea about TRUE power, that I was naïve to trust on others. He came closer and as much as I tried to deny it, his presence started to intimidate me. I blamed some spell of his armor. He removed his helmet and came closer until his face was almost touching mine. I could've tried to use this opportunity to try and kill him to escape, but I couldn't do it. I had to listen to what he told me next, what he whispered in my ear. I had to listen to the dark and sinister secrets, that he told me. My eyes widened, the longer I listened to him,the less horrified and the more fascinated I was by this secrets. It didn't take long until I LONGED FOR knowing more. He whispered of things, unable to describe. I forgot everything I had known, he was filling my mind with things so monstrous and so wunderful at the same time, I couldn't have dreamt of. He talked for hours and the more I listened to him, the more obsessed I became with learning more. More knowledge, more power, there was nothing else I could think about. I completely forgot everything else. It didn't matter anymore that I was imprisoned, it didn't matter that he should've been my enemy, I just wanted power and knowledge, no matter how dangerous it was, I WANTED it. When he stopped talking, I begged him to continue. He told me, that he would tell me more next time we met, but also that he had to go now. Then, he just left.
I knew that he had changed me. He had darkened my thoughts by simply talking with me. Sometimes, I could still hear his whispers afterwards.
The moment he left, I forsake all the plans Rangul had. There was only one thing left in my mind: Power. I longed for it. It was like an addiction and I wanted to see it satisfied. I would find my own ways of gaining power and then seek him out again.

I just read this short story.
I wonder who this mysterious man is. Now I see that Vanessa isn´t as good as I thought she was. She is now obssessed with power and it seems is only a matter of time until she betrays her surrogate family.
I started sensing this after she, in the orc book, sounded interested in being Empress of Mankind.

if the story is related to Chapter 6 (Battle vs Knights of Kome), then I could say the man is General Gardon Bloodclaw.

Most likely is Gardon Bloodclaw.

This story further makes me think that Bloodclaw was or is somehow related to demons...
Btw Shar how comes that both powerhungry main characters are Females?

Why both power hungry characters are females you ask?
Simple. Because as you may have already realized most of the top generals and sorcerers are males. In most medieval-like cultures they mostly value strenght and women are regarded as weaker than men. So if a female wants to reach the same level as male, she has to work harder to achieve it. I am not sexist, but I think that is why. If there is someone out there that feels insulted by my statement, say it and I will remove this.

Have you read Aedale's background? She, as a child, possessed a clear inferiority complex, being constantly seen as weak compared to her siblings, so she started seeking to prove herself to others, no matter how. Her ambitions grew even more after absorbing the artifacts, corrupting her and filling her with hatred towards those that stood in her way, including her own family.

Vanessa was an outcast among orcs, as she was a human. Orcs are a race that value strenght above almost everything else, and I guess they see humans as weaklings so if Vanessa, who was already disliked for being a human, was seen as weak, they would certainly kill or exile her, regardless who her adoptive father was.

First of all Adele had no inferiority complex. Her parents were overportective in case all other siblings lost their lifes so she could continue the blood line. She held a high ranking in the empire and was praised as a promising mage in the future.

Second Vanessa got chosen by Rangul as his daughter and as state in the story fighting for your rights among orcs was common even if you were a warchief son/daughter.This story clearly states she gave to power only cuz of what Gardon said to her not to prove anything cuz she dident have to prove anything anyway...She was one of RANGUL'G GENERALS and had influence in both Rangul and Sasrogan(potentially the next warchief).I see this as a more greater power than just mere strength.
There are females characters that have alot of power as well.

I just come by to remind you two of something I wrote about Aedale a long time ago.

Some of you may have played the Secret Chapter and have seen something about this. Others haven't and don't know a thing. This is the complete truth about Aedale's past - whether you like it or not.
Aedale grew up in a noble family as the youngest child with both some brothers and sisters. Her father is a proud officer of the Imperial Army and her mother a popular noble woman. Her brothers and sisters are all either mages or soldiers. They all managed to become officers and she has always been under pressure and was compared to her siblings - and since she had potential but didn't find a way to use it, she never got the attention her parents gave to their other children. She was considered to be too weak to be useful for the army and was supposed to marry some noble and become his faithful wife.
Only because of her teachers, she wasn't called back from her studies. When she volunteered to join the Imperial Army in the kingdoms, her parents were quite upset. They wanted her to stay behind and let her siblings do the fighting - so that their legacy would survive in case the other children would die. After a long - and LOUD - conversation, Aedale left her parents and joined the Imperial Army - she didn't want to come back.
On the journey to the kingdoms, she had to realize that the soldiers were skeptical of the young mage who joined the army only some weeks ago. She became possessed by the wish to show them what she was capable of - if not her parents, the army should be the ones who see how she unfolds her potential.
The following part is only for those who played the Secret Chapter.
Lisara perverted Aedale's memories and made it look even worse. She made Aedale think that only together she'd be able to prove herself. A corrupted Aedale would even kill her very own father if he showed up - Lisara's influence filled Aedale with hatred towards her whole family.

LISBOAH is right about Aedale while DD_Mikasa was right about Vanessa. :)

I hereby confirm that the man in the story was Gardon himself and that he more or less corrupted Vanessa for a purpose that shall be revealed in due time.

Who knows? ;P
Just wait for the Second Books. Not going to spoil you with too many details about the interesting stuff and simple "yes" or "no" is too easy, so I won't do that. ;)
