1) Make sure you have at least the 1.27 patch installed. The campaign WILL NOT WORK properly without it.
Specifically, Chapter Three will not load at all.
2) Download the Rise of the Blood Elves Intro cinematic and extract into your Warcraft III/Movies folder.
LINK TO THE CINEMATIC FILE
3) Download the campaign and place into your Warcraft III/Campaigns folder, or My Documents/Warcraft 3/Campaigns
if you have the 1.28 patch.
4) Play the campaign!

In a daring campaign against the Scourge in Northrend, Illidan faced off against the death
knight Arthas in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne. However, Arthas defeated Illidan and left him
wounded in the snow, allowing Illidan to witness the creation of the new Lich King.

Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, realising their defeat, brought Illidan with them as they fled back to
Outland. Seeing their master's ugly wounds, they decide to bring him back to the Hellfire Citadel so that
he may recover... but, unbeknownst to them, Outland was in a state of a minor civil war.

Soon after that, tensions rise in the blood elven society as the Grand Magistrix Alessandra Katryne
proposes a dangerous idea: reclamation of their homeland, Quel'Thalas.

Hi there. I've been playing your campain for a while now but I can't seem to continue in chapter 11. Allways when I reach the cinematic where keal appears infront of Kalecgos and Anveena my warcraft 3 seems to crash. And i've tried it at least 10 times so far. trying every different thing but it just crashes. I tried skipping the cinematic, this allows me to play for a little more but not more than a minute later it crashes.

I hope this might be looked into because I really would like to finish this campain it's awesome:ogre_haosis:

Reviewed chapter by chapter
chapter 1
There is nothing much in this chapter except I tried to get used to the interface.
chapter 2
Naga army is much stronger than blood elves in this mission. Blood elves archers do have a minor role because they can not do obvious damage except to flying units.
A decision which clans a player wants to ally with is really a good idea, generally, end up with the biggest clan and the weak ones were deleted.
chapter 3
An idea not to kill many enemies is really a wise one but sadly the side quest doesn't give a player any benefit.
chapter 4
almost the same as chapter 2 but this time you can not choose an ally
chapter 5
A good chapter. I really love it when 3 sides of my base are attacked simultaneously
chapter 6
There is a cave on the right side of the map and I built a few farm there to close the cave so there was no undead from there.
chapter 7
Another rpg map. I amazed how come sylvanas decided to fight against black boss and also how she beat the undead commander while in chapter 6 sylvanas can not even take 1 undead base.
chapter 8
Enemies' buildings are invulnerable, skip the chapter.
chapter 9
Rpg map once more... I love the story.
chapter 10
Phoenixes rules the map. They are pretty overpowered.
chapter 11
My ally did not build the base. I had no idea why but at least our boss can not even beat phoenix army. With out demon units from portal, our boss would have died before the ice dragon and his buddy did something to the sunwell.

Gameplay
1. Golem and archer have a minor role.
2. Spell breaker with heavy armor??? but this armor gets extra damage from magic attack but spell breaker is immune to magic??? That is...
3. Orb of corruption is very useful, always.
4. Phoenix is overpowered.
5. I like the gameplay. I may play again if enemies' buildings are not invulnerable in chapter 8.

Sound
Music in chapter 5, 11 are pretty good.

Graphic and terrain
Pretty good.

Balance and difficult
Tomo's campaigns have never been hard so far. The army tends to be a balance army all the time (no useless unit, 1:1:1:1... unit ratio per building)
until you get a phoenix.

Story
I am still wondered where a new dark mage in the epilogue comes from.

Score : I likely to give 4/5 at this state. Let say I would like to give it somewhere near 4+ but many objectives in chapter still need something to motivate the player such as destroying magic hunger blood elf base in chapter 5 which can be almost stopped by building 6+ towers to face them.
Because the campaign was just out for almost 2 months. I will not rate it until Enemies' buildings are not invulnerable in chapter 8 so I can fully play and rate.

Edited: I played campaign again for the second time, all missions.
I will give it 4/5 since the last mission (Ch.11), my ally did not build the base (I think it is big enough for not to be 5/5 since it is one mission and not suppose to be hidden). For a minor reason, a player should be able to destroy enemy bases in chapter 6 since the result is the same that is no undead base at the end.

Final edited: I played it again this time. It seemed perfect, there is not even single one bug except allies were always not really helpful :p
Anyway, Congratulation, a perfect campaign always derserves 5 / 5 !!!

Honestly, I don't know what could be causing that :\
Are you using the newest patch?

The dark mage? You mean Rommath? I couldn't fit anywhere to explain where he came from. He is simply the new grand magister.

The enemy buildings in Chapter Eight are invulnerable because I didn't want the players to destroy the enemies. If they did, the ending cinematic would not work properly.

Blood Elves FTW!!!

Once again, awesome campaign. The only thing I noticed that I'd change is some of the dialogue. There were a few repetitive phrases like "deal with (insert enemy)." Aside from that, I'd say it was perfect. Also, I think that if you were ever to remake the Curse of the Forsaken campaign, it'd be cool if you included the San'layn and maybe something about Quel'Delar, maybe making a new blood/high elf hero from Sunreavers/Silver Covenant to use it. Great job incorporating the events of Lor'themar's short story into the campaign. So, with that dialogue thing, I give it a 4.99/5 :D

Thanks, glad you liked it, and I'm actually thinking about adding the Quel'delar story into CotF.

I have a question about the last mission. Are the draenei supposed to actually BUILD a base? because both times I played that mission, they didn't. They just appear, the workers chop lumber, and then everyone stands around and then nothing more.

Just finished the campaign, I must say I really enjoyed playing it.
The music, models and layouts were pretty damn good aswell.
At the same time it made me alot more interested in the lore of the blood elves.

Just one question/issue... Apart from cinematics, I dont see any texts which are supposed to be said while playing the maps.
At certain points I see certain hero and unit icons show up instead of the unit I selected.
I'm assuming these moments are when the units are supposed to say something, but in my case they dont.
I feel like im missing out alot information for tips or certain events (for example u get an optional quest and units were supposed to inform u beforehand in any sort of way). Is this supposed to happen?

Even though I had this little issue thru the campaign, it was still easy enough to follow the storyline and map instructions.

They are, I don't now what's causing them not to build it, but I think I know how to fix it, I just don't really have a lot of time to work on it lately.

you havd disabled something in the options, and since the units dont have voice, you will not see anything nor hear anything

Woops, apparently my subtitles settings were still off... that must have been it haha I thought for sure I had them on but guess not.

Sorry for the trouble, all fine now :p

I just tested Chapter Eleven multiple times, and the draenei always build a base for me. Can anyone tell me what exactly happens, and exactly what you did that they didn't build a base?

Maybe because some units are in the area that they will build the base, so the worker cancel the Build function, you could make a cine when they come to the isle, and create the building by triggers, so i think that will work fine.

Hello tomoraider!, Been long. :)
Well I just started, and I will be doing a review for each of the chapters separately as I play them through. ^_^
Well the first chapter is nothing impressive, a short approach to the story, a prelude. To be honest I felt nostalgic as I've played the old campaign. The UI fits perfectly, and the music is amazing.

First Chapter - Trace of Hope
Pros:
-Good choice of icons, units, skins, models.
-Terrain is outlandish, that was the whole point.
-A fast intro mission, picks up where the story left of.
-Decent dialogues.
Neutral:
-Pathing is narrow, hard to navigate the units, on the other hand it's a short mission.
-Illidan cage model is meh, but I understand there's not much to do about it.
Cons:
None.
Suggestions:
-Make the buildings invulnerable, as they are no threat, and just unnecessary to destroy. :)

Well the first chapter is nothing impressive, a short approach to the story, a prelude. To be honest I felt nostalgic as I've played the old campaign. The UI fits perfectly, and the music is amazing.

Chapter One

Oh, thanks, I hope you'll like all the chapters ^^
Did you also read the short stories? They're gonna make the story much easier and better to understand.

No I haven't yet, I'll be reading them tomorrow, once I got more free time :).

Second chapter is immediately better, the changes you've made are enormous, I see you really did put your effort into this. I like the double team up, and water on outland! yay!.

Second Chapter - The Weak Perish
Pros:
-A beautiful blood elf remake, models, skins, awesome.
-Side quest was very smart, and original!
-Decent main quests, and multiple decisions.
-Terrain pathing is better than previous map.
-Interesting start of the campaign.
-Harder than I expected (I had to defeat the yellow orc base), which means I loved it.
-Aha! a pickaxe which gives 15% chance of stun. NICE!
Neutral:
-3 Ballistas are too much, I immediately destroyed them after freeing the base(I'm not a fan of siege units).
-No Illidan v.s Magtheridon fight :(.
Cons:
-There's a bug since I visited top-left (dark green?) or base, and they joined me, even though I hadn't yet annexed the brown base(that was requirement).
Suggestions:
None.
Note:
a) I won't be reviewing the interludes, of course they are great as well, but I don't see a reason for them needing a review.
b) Have I told you I like the Blizzard theme you work with? cos I do.

3rd quick play-through
chapter 1: If a player does not save blood elves in the end there will be a cinematic about them
chapter where you go into the dungeon.
you can use flame strike or meteor shooting from outside of the room into undead commander room.
chapter 11:
I changed my computer. Now, it is windows 8, i7-core. Still, there did not build the base. 4 of craftsman went to cut some wood, the other one did nothing. 2 of my siege units stay at the lower path of the upside down L-shape of where should be an ally base.

All I did in mission 11, to begin with, rushing with all of my troops, pouring into their base, using everything I had and revived some fallen allies. Training some peasants to get the wood and building another base at the south and finally getting the phoenix.
After that the portal popped up at the north base, I destroyed it then finished the buildings that were still left in the area then the ally came from the portal.

Never noticed that bug, lol. Thanks for reporting, and I'm glad you like my work :)

Thanks, never noticed those bugs, and thanks for more information on Chapter Eleven bug. I'll see what I can do. I'll probably turn it into a cinematic, like Forsaken said.

I just tested it for 4th and 5th times with whosyourdaddy,
they built the base.
Maybe it is about time "when." I am not quite sure.
I also tried to block where the base should be but it was still be built.

CH3 This Chapter is actually now taking the course of interesting, I get to see Tempest Keep, infiltrate it, and open a portal. I had to use the invisibility spell quite often, I hope I have a need for it in future chapters since I like it.

Third Chapter - Through Fire
Pros:
-A different terrain for the barren world of outland, you outdid blizzard.
-An interesting turn of events, introduction to other elven factions.
-Decent dialogues.
Neutral:
-Kind of a short, fast paced map.
-Hero revive takes too long.
Cons:
None.
Suggestions:
None.

CH4 This is where it gets exciting!, A base managing and constant demand of defense, saving other base, double base control and strike. And forget about what I said of ballistas, this chapter is impossible without ballistas. I had to save before each attack, and I retried the attack on the yellow base 2 times, and the third time I got ballistas and it was still hard but awesome!.

Fourth Chapter - Ghosts of the past
Pros:
-Terrain outstanding.
-Immediate undead engaging.
-Base building, defending from constant attacks, hard - very satisfying.
-Lor'Themar is awesome.
-Variety of units, which are required to successfully win.
Neutral:
None.
Cons:
-Limited gold expansions (I even took the purple expansion, but the income was so low with High upkeep).
Suggestions:
-Another gold expansion.
Notes:
-I'm starting to think you hate color yellow, as up till now those enemies have been the toughest. And the way they run away to save from towers was very irritating :p
-Lor'Themar died on me too fast when I attacked, and I did proper micro play.
-Required use of Ballistas to win(they recreate their base SO fast!), and I'm not a fan of siege units.

Thanks, glad you liked those chapters. I never thought the hero revive time in Chapter Three was too long since they died very rarely for me. Might make it a bit shorter in that chapter.

Hmm, I never really had a problem with gold in Chapter Four. I think it's alright. And the enemies are very quick with their bases even though they got the default building times for everything, lol. And I don't hate yellow, it's just a random coincidence. I think.

EDIT: Also, I need to stop quoting entire posts! Maybe next time.

Well they died only once to me, but waiting for the default revive was long :)

If you like to play it safe like I do(mass defense in the start, and mass units late game), then you will notice that you will only have 1 goldmine and a high upkeep, which means the gold will generate slow, and thus increase the overall game time :)

CH5 This is by far my favorite chapter!, and I say that given two reasons: I have to defend for a good 25 minutes, and then I have to(Side quests are must for me) attack all the bases being provided with one new powerful unit. It gives that "Wait till I wake up you bit*hes" feeling. Seriously this was by far longest, yet kept me interested all along, since I have two maps/quests in one.

Fifth Chapter - Amplification
Pros:
-Expansion nerby
-Variety of positions to defend, and a choice in the style of defense.
-Requires great focus to not screw up
-A huge map, with a great terrain(I like the marshes)
-Hard/Medium difficulty
-Secret found! Nice.
-Variety number/time of attacks!
Neutral:
None.
Cons:
None.
Suggestions:
None.
Notes:
As I mentioned earlier, this is by far the favorite map, I like everything that happens here. Starting from terrain up to game mechanics. Awesome work here.

Very well made campaign, and there's a lot to like here. The only problem is that it's way too fucking hard. By the mission you build the arcane golems I had to give up. What were you thinking, man? Five undead bases against a base that isn't even half-finished? Crazy motherfucker.

Thanks? Most of people didn't find it that hard, and it was never hard for me. Also there aren't five undead bases.
