Reputation Gems Missing?

Hi there. I recently noticed that, from time to time, some users have their gems ,,vanished" on their posts' screens or on their profiles. Not like they lost reputation as -rep does, their visual appearance is missing. I wonder is that a bug, or that's just my browser?
