Not sure if this is in the right place.

Just a small question or 2 here, is Warcraft III playerbase increasing with the new patches and blizzard support or is it decreasing with every passing second? Also what are the expectations for the game's popularity in the following times.

I think it remains largely the same.

Something big must happen with 1.30 to drastically increase playerbase (new battle.net implementation?), also more custom maps with high quality.

The playerbase is slowly bleeding out.

Blizz is investing some resources in updating the game, so I imagine they have plans for the future. A remaster or somesuch in a few years. That'll reinvigorate it for a while.

A warcraft remastered would be a miracle, however I got that feeling that it won't happen anytime soon, at least not before Wow BfA concludes.

Blizzard can keep the game alive with new fresh patches till they (hopefully) decide to remaster the game.
