I think it's stupid in a sense. How often does a regular user really reach that 300 Mbps cap? After the download speed is over 50 Mbps, then it's pretty much about the ping and upload. But some people probably have some server thingies running at their homes.

Loosing 3 ms in ping is okay, considering it being 2 solid walls with lots of metal between my computer and the router. Also a lot of streaming going on around in the house...

Well, I remember days when common connection type was a Dial-Up. If I recall correctly, we had 2 kb/s or something. We should be happy to have megabytes today!

True. yet back then the requirements to the net was also so much lower and there were little to do with it. Now with the tons of webpages, downloads and games using it - I would go mad
