I found an old coin I thought I had lost, so I figured I should take a picture of it and post it here. The image is kinda bright, blame the blitz (it was too dark without xD).

Yes, it's a 1000$ coin from 1988 :D

Some new photos. Wildlife and a wetlands. Oddly neither of the animals were in the wetlands. Not happy with the landscape shot. I plan to return there with more time and a tripod to get better stuff.

upside down :/

yeah, it doesn't matter much for who can read that though xPP

pretty sure chinese as well. although japan does use chinese for some stuff

I'm sure it's written by japanese people. They told me so. And some letters look similar to japanese (which are familiar to me)

Edit: oh, there are 3 pillars of text there. You know japanese have 3 or so main alphabets. So each pillar must be different spellings of my name. I just paid attention to that, lol.
Edit 2: no wait, pillar at right is showing the date lol, that must be the date when the text was written.

ok. the right one (when you look at it the right way up) is japanese (katakana). that could be your name. katakana being the japanese for writing non-native words. "bu ru sa" it says, i think. or at least, that is what i am reading

the left is, ya. dates.

and middle is prolly some sort of proverb or a phrase wishing you good luck, congratulation, happy birthday or something like that. chinese have a lot of 4 word proverbs that just wouldnt fit in that small paper if written with the usual hiragana. japanese people do use chinese for here and there i believe. not likely to be a name since i am pretty sure chinese names usually have 3 words to them. if it was done by a carliographer(cos it kinda looks like it), it probably is since they would surely know a lot of chinese or, if not, expert at it.

then again, it could indeed be your name. they could have got the pronounciation, found the words that matched the pronouciation and gave you a chinese name with chinese letters. the names always have a meaning to them. like a phrase. too bad i cant read it. you should get it checked up sometimes, if it is indeed your name written in chinese.

what was the occasion anyways?

haha "bu ru sa", that's my home-city xD it's where I born, where I spent my childhood, and where I stay right now. (the proper spelling is "bursa" though) so it's revealed that the text at right was where this text had been written.

I don't know what is a carliographer and there isn't a definition on wiki, lol. I'm pretty sure that it must be the pronounciation, because they have done it the same way for the city name as you can see. I'm sure that who wrote this were native japanese, because my parents told me so.

I don't know what was the occasion, because the date on text is not my date of birth or anything, and according to date on text, I was 6 when it was written, lol.
