I did a 30000x17143 render of the mandelbrot set (in greyscale). I feel like a boss.

Imuge (Click for 3000x1714 image):

The 30000x17143 is also available by clicking the 3000x1714 image. Sadly, it doesn't seem like any of the major browsers are able to display it, so you must download it and open on your computer. (Takes 5GB RAM in GIMP)
(Pro tip: Open with regular windows previewer)

TDR, displays right for me.

The 30000x17143 image loaded? This one?
I tried FF, Chrome and IE. None of them worked and I have 8GB RAM and a powerful computer. In Chrome and IE it was just blank, while FF says the image is corrupt :D

5GB ram to display an image? You created a monstah!!!
It's insane, because the image itself is only 30MB or something xD
I have no idea how it managed to take 5GB.

It wasn't that hard to find out :D

I only know because I was forced to watch some Science movie\show\thing about it as part of school. It actually seriously intrigued me, even though I didn't understand much more than "it's this cool picture thing that no matter how much you zoom in it will keep repeating itself", which is seriously awesome on it's own.

i had a 512 mb ram and it displays right for me
Fascinating. May I ask what browser you've used? Both me and shiiK have 8GB RAM and neither of us can open the really big image (the 30000x17143 image) with any of the major browsers.

Anyway, working on a viewer thing now, so you don't have to render and then open the image. This will also allow zooming and stuff. Also adding colours now :>

Bump :D (Never thought I would bump in the Picture/Photo Thread xD)

Got some progress on the viewer, and I've optimized the algorithm like hell. I can do the 30000x17143 render in just a few seconds now. Oh and I got colours now :>
Here are 2 renders with only 50 iterations (just took screenshots this time instead of uploading the really huge images):

As always, click the image for larger version. The first one is only 1303x745, while the second one is 1613x757.

Edit: I look like a thread hijacker now, don't I? D:

Post some pictures damnit!

This is a Low-resolution picture I took with my webcam.
I could've made it more High-res, but I don't have any application that allows me to interface with my cam, so I used Skype :p

I cut my hair recently :3

P.S If you think I look like a fag, I will find you, and I will kill you.
