My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

AH yes, now I see, it seems to be something similar though. I already heard they are thinking of remaking the characters in Mugen, which I think may be better than this Fighter Maker, as you can create arenas, characters and customize everything from main menu to interface, etc. I myself have made some mugen stuff (not pony related though) which is in my bio.

mugen is terrible

mugen is terrible

Why? The old WinMugen was kind of like hacked of the original which was buggy and awful. The original one and latest 1.0 version by Elecbyte is good. I know maybe because it supports 8bit/256 colors which is no problem for characters and arenas of games up to 256 colors but for say new games arenas&chars there would be color loss which makes it awful. But there will be 24 and 32 bit support which I dont know what took them so long. And Mugen is like the only fighting engine where you can bring all your favorite characters and places from old and new games in one place. Anyway, doing resources for Mugen has wasted me so much time, that I promised I will do casual things extremely rare if I ever do anything, as with having SC2 I don't need to waste my time with some mugen. It's cool playing it, you like Mortal Kombat from your childhood, games like Kyrandia, characters like Spiderman, there you have it all in one place - and up to you if you don't like mixtures, delete all frm other games and make projects of one game only. It's waste of time to do things, and I did some but it's cool to play.

And what's with that picture and the fuss about it with Rarity? I dont get it. Wait, naked ugly guy, Rarity 'ouch'ing while just pulling some cart, I get it.

I don't know much about the inner workings of either engine as I said earlier, but the thing about mugen is that no one seems to want to make legitimate fighter games in it, and instead the majority just want to have Naruto (spellpax plz!) and Ichigo fight in the Mushroom Kingdom.

btw, did the show already hit in european areas? because there is not even 1 ffucking notification about this show in asia and I'm stuck watching that weird twf show that shows middle fingers and more fingers..

So far I've only heard some dubs (Dutch, French, German) of the opening themes, different versions of the Grand Galloping Gala song and seen a Dutch dub (stop sounding like a smurf silly Spike) for the Ticket Master, which is pretty surprising because most popular cartoons tend to get ignored here in the Netherlands. I suppose the show would get the same treatment if it were released in Asia and it's the question if you'd like watching a dubbed version (I personally don't). Anyway, aside from those dubs (which you could only find if you'd specifically look for them) there is no sign of the show being aired soon here.

yeah I was responding to Pyritie. I dont watch anything related to or Naruto, Ichigo, Mushroom kingdom (nor do I want to have anything to do) and actually those who dont like MK or ponies that you saw on that mugen forum pages ago are exactly some manga fanboys and I dislike those cartoons just as much. But there are many cool projects like TMNT, marvel, Capcom, MKs and mostly - using sprites from 3D games which give a whole new level to the graphics. I think Pyritie meant the color loss that happens as it has to keep the colors up to 256, which makes it look crappy.

Getting off-topic here :/

How come? Ponies are on every page!

Oh and speaking of the show in Europe, I already watched them on the internet cause otherwise may never arrive. What we've got here are some lousy directors who after Jetix Europe became Disney, Disney is full of shitty shows, there is nothing, I dont follow it since years ago. And the other program we have Cartoon Network also has some kind of silly shows, some StarWars wannabe version 10000.01 out of the many Star Wars (getting tired of making Star Wars?). Let me know if CN or Disney would air them cause I doubt.

And due to the silly decision by some to translate episodes - something I never liked, waiting to translate episodes in our langauge before smth is aired is another stupid thing brough shortly before Jetix was swallowed by Disney. And the translations were horrible and I like original voices. Poor kids who watch cartoons today, they could've watched much cooler shows.

My goodness, these subtle aesthetic changes to characters had better not progress any further. I dislike it when the staff change the original state of a show after the first season - just keep it original. >.< Besides, I hardly see what necessitates such changes, anyways; everyone seemed quite pleased with how things were.

I mean, they changed Celestia's color from white-ish to pink just because it would be more appealing to girls. Srsly, these stupid profit hunters and sh*#@(@)#()#*(4#2904
I'm sure they would if it raises sales. I can remember though that when I was young I wanted my toys to look like as they did in the show they were based off (and I'm pretty sure the same could go for girls), so I'm not sure if the changes really makes the toy more appealing. It's almost as if Hasbro doesn't have the rights to the original designs (and vector images) to base their products on, but that wouldn't make sense to me.

Little do these tards realize lots of their earnings come frm the old fans too.
Aside from the free advertisement (which could be very effective if it would reach the target demographic) I'm not so sure in what way they actually get their earnings from older fans. To my knowledge most of their income comes from kids buying the toys, but instead they got older fans complaining about these toys. I'm really curious how Hasbro is going to react to the current situation.

Some time ago I said I was experimenting with pony model but I didn't reveal what. What I did was trying to get a pony model into SC2 from the open source game on EquestriaGaming. The problem was the only way to export fr 3ds max was exporting as OBJ. Somehow animations were lost and I can't animate in 3ds max. Now I can ask others for help to get at least 1 pony model into sc2 since I got the author's permisison:

I think the email states you can use any model for wherever you need (war3 or maybe even non blizzard game). Because there are houses as well. So if you need ponies, you could have them. The ponies aren't too high poly maybe even too low for SC2.

Is anyone interested in converting one pony to SC2, animated (but you have to know the M3 exporter and how some textures work) or well, I could as well ask in another place.

Eitherway maybe even Pyritie could find use in pony houses and such just give credit to him.

Awesome. Let me just say: 'The complete model' is the whole Equestria with all its other mountains and houses, among them are all 6 pony models with walking, flying, standing animations all 40MB. The format is BLEND (blender) which loses animation when exported to Obj.

http://www.equestriagaming.com/2011/05/my-little-pony-3d.html (whole game) there is 'Pony-0.1.252.blend'

If you need blender to open it, go to their site there is a ZIP version, no install. If you want only Fluttershy here it is below, I also uploaded the Normal and Specular textures I did time ago plus some 3ds Import I did. The texture is too basic and simple, I added some little imporvements you can dl all you want with it. (if you use Blender DL the whole game as I dont know where the texture it uses for Blender is located among the folders)

If you dont want to work with Blender at all, I managed to flip almost all backfaces leaving only the unnoticable still invisible faces. It was PAIN - Backface Culling showed all the holes and I had to fix 1 by 1 as import OBJ after export from Blender caused many backfaces being flipped opposite and the model had big holes or invisible faces. I assigned the textures too, so it needs only animation as it was lost, in case you feel like doing it from max model directly. But maybe you can all do better from Blender

Blender format already has the bones and fly/walk/stand/death animation but I had no idea how I'd get that in 3ds max. So up you if you will start from blender or max

You mean in the zip file? .blend is the model. You need to click View >> Show all layers when open in blender. If you get nothing on the display screen, it should display the pony and the bones after show all layers. I deleted all other stuff frm this .blend file like houses, leaving it just Fluttershy mesh and animation.

I didn't include the whole model that is 40MB like i said you would need to dl the game for it and also for openening the textured model in Blender you also need the game as I dont know the folders where blender loads the texture. Hey can you make the Stand animation turn her head left and right frm time to time? Anyway -.-

Err I saved the max file with 3ds max 9. If yours is newer it should work, if you have older version, maybe that' why. Did it work if you export OBJ from blender then import obj from max? This is however the case where backfaces are flipped and are invisible looking like holes on the model.
