Mini Icon Contest?

Hey guys was thinking that there has not been a icon contest in some time probably with the user base either inactive or dying.. but do you think we could do a small one or is that even possible?

If so i can come up with some ideas for it and see if we can get some votes.

Yeah ive always been a judge and id like to be apart of one for a change lol.

I don't mind judging even if icons is slightly outside of my wheelhouse, I'm also going to get another texture contest started soon-ish (once I find time).

Seems like a great idea. I don't know if this is the place but I'll put in a couple suggestions (mostly past Contests that I particularly loved/were successful):

• "Design a Hero/Skillset": Pick a unit/model & draw 5 icons, "creating" a skillset for that custom model as if it were a custom hero (+ Portrait)
• "Retrofit" (also here): Pick a few icons & re-imagine them as being cast by different races (e.g. how the Far Seer's Chain Lightning features an Orc hand, or the Paladin's Devotion Aura features a Human glove; reimagine the icon in a different context & for a different race)
• "Upgrade Sets": Design (2) 3 Icons which depict one of the classic racial "weapon/armor" (or "caster") upgrades; i.e. 3 icons featuring an offensive or defensive object, with increasing levels of ornamentation & glow
• "Old Glory": enhance the usability of an old custom Contest model by providing a set of icons to match it
• "Community Enrichment": Pick a custom model/texture on the Hive & flesh it out with some additional icons (portrait & some fitting abilities)
• "See Above But For Ladder Units"

I love the skill set one the most i was already thinking of doing that one since i feel like its more benifical for users that like that model or skin but dont know what to use for there skill set..

These look quite profound. I'd also like to see more "ripened" criteria like there were in the lastest (20?) contest and, say, 14th. I'd like to mix up some criteria to improve clarity and give more points towards Warcraft-yness as it drastically improves the usability, IMO.

I'd also like to put in a couple suggestions:

Racial icon sets (just to give more freedom and maybe usability):

• Create X icons on Undead/Troll/Night Elf/Orc?/ect. theme, dividing the pack of icons only by race from the Warсraft universe.

A certain racial icon set, e.g.:

• The rise of the Undead: create X icons on Undead theme.
• Legion's arrival: create X icons on Demon theme.
• Technology boom: create X icons on Dwarf/Goblin/Gnome theme.
• The force of Nature: create X icons on Night Elf theme.
• Ect.

Gameplay factions icon sets:

• Create X icons on the Alliance/Orc/Undead/Night Elf theme.
