When I have the time, I work on the map, and I always read the posts.
Two or three days are not so much time... At least for me. I see you are impatient, guys, but I am working 9 hours every Monday to Friday and I have my life, my problems and everything else. I can understand you are disappointed you haven't see any real updates.

Well, you still don't know how much time really cost me to fix those two puny bugfixes... There is a really amazing bug in Warcraft mechanics, which was causing the item loss when selling to Merchant. I spent many hours in a few DAYS for testing every little shit until I found a working solution.

Anyway, I'm working on some updates on showing Scores and Achievements in game. I really hope I could bring to life a very advanced multiboard system made by A.Dominion, which is being ruined maybe by the same bug I mentioned. There will be some other updates too. I'm really in doubt if I should replace all wolves in the game with panthers (they are more Jungle-like). The models I found are just amazing, but this means increasing map size. The panthers would have similar stats to wolves with some ability differences.

As for your suggestions - no, I wouldn't make the game that easier. The Panic gives speed and heat, it should cost what it costs, and resource spawn is just okay. There will be some improvements to stone and flint gathering (see List of changes).

Hunger and body heat speeds depend on survival difficulty, yes.

I like the idea about changing the trees order, but as I know myself, I would never find the time for that. Maybe if Dark_Angel finds the time to work again on the map, he would do it. He likes placing resources around and setting spiders which are lurking just behind them :)

I have thought about that, but if I do it, it would remember only certain Achievement bonuses, not the whole game. And it wouldn't be soon, sorry :/

well IMO that's not what most players are expecting...
it would be better if we could see our achievements by a command such as "-view achievements" or smth similar...
also that will be easier to make and less lagging since you won't have to check every X seconds how much progress is left for reaching the achievement

There will be some other updates too. I'm really in doubt if I should replace all wolves in the game with panthers (they are more Jungle-like). The models I found are just amazing, but this means increasing map size. The panthers would have similar stats to wolves with some ability differences.
I do agree that panthers are more jungle-like than wolves :D
wolves pretty much are for forest-like maps...
maybe this tool will help you...Warcraft 3 Viewer
with that tool you can reduce the quality of textures to reduce size by a lot...
reducing them to 30% is the recommended value because below that value, the quality get's really bad...
i hope that helps you reduce the map size :)

well have you ever thought of recruiting more development members?
in your case a good terrainer could help you a lot...
but as i can guess you are afraid of adding a "stranger" to your development team right?
well i guess i would feel the same thing...i wouldn't want someone to host an unprotected version of my map all over the b.net...

i have thought about that, but if I do it, it would remember only certain Achievement bonuses, not the whole game. And it wouldn't be soon, sorry :/
well IMO save/load isn't really necessary...
but maybe it will be good if you are able to save/load achievements...
you could add it to your "updates for the distant future" list :)

Yes, I am recruiting more team members. For now only I am working on the game.
But... I need 1) Someone with a good knowledge of Jass or at least GUI triggers to help me with programming, and 2) someone who would make the game more popular, run a hosting bot, open contests etc.

Lately I'm working on the game every day, but only for hour or two. I don't have much time after I come home from work and I'm usually deadly tired. Anyway, the change log is growing and will grow even longer.

well i have been a GUIer for about 1 year and im willing to help...
but just thinking of how long the triggers on JTR will be im getting scared *_*

IMPORTANT:
im aware that you are not willing to give an unprotected JTR map to a stranger, so if you need help with GUI pm me the triggers that needs to be fixxed or your idea for a new system etc. and ill do my best to finish it asap and pm it to you

Greetings. Few questions regarding 4.5 version:

[*] Is it possible to upgrade watch towers with stone (as written in towers description)?
When the stone (up to full stack of 5) is loaded and upgrade button pressed, the tower starts upgrading animation and stone simply drops out. After animation finishes the tower remains the same, doesn't even repair itself.

[*] Is it intended, that sometimes inventor's "pack building" ability just displays microstun animation on friendly building and building doesn't revert to kit?
Once this happens, the ability stays bugged for the rest of time.

[*] Do giant bird nests tamed by hunter actually hatch bird?

[*] Does trading agreement scroll have outdated description saying about herb prices which are lower than actual prices?

1) I have also seen that. Actually it works, but I think it takes more time than intended. I haven't made this function by myself, I should take a look and see how it is created and what may be wrong.
2) This should be a bug. Do you have some more specific idea how it happens, is it on a certain building or something unusual?
Besides, it should every time display a microstun animation, the skill which is used is based on some stunning spell like Fireball. It should do nothing and only trigger the functions...
3) They do, but the map has some breeding limits based on the initial count of the animals of every species. When this limit is exceeded, the breeding chance is reverted to 0 (made to prevent map overpopulation and lag). This limits will be removed in version 4.6. I'm rebuilding the spawning system in a better way which will control animal count otherwise.

[*] A bit unfair about unhatching birds. Assuming egg nest is lvl1 baby animal, you don't get guaranteed lvl2 beast. Snake eggs are easier, they seem to allways hatch.

[*] Judging from upcoming changelog, you're going to swap wolves to panthers. It should be noticed that bears and boars aren't tropical jungle dwellers too. Especially bears. Especially brown.
When comparing to World of Warcraft® Stranglethorn Vale "ancient troll jungle" interpretation, you lack gorillas (I remember they did stun attacks too) and tigers, while Alligators count as raptors.
Though gorillas are herbivorous, not carnivorous.

[*] Is it possible to get plain untriggered (and unprotected) terrain of JTR for paper mapmaking purposes from your site ?:)

Still, thanks for your efforts on improving the map and making it more of trolls and less of cmemblock372. Looking forward to 4.6

yes you need to add Tigers aswell...
with a little luck i could ask permission from the creator of bebi to edit it and make it a gorilla, although im not 100% sure i can do it...

At first look the tower upgrading trigger seems normal and even boring - everything looks okay, yet it isn't. I'll do more testing :(
Same for the dismounting.

The wolves will be replaced by sabre-toothed cats using this model.
I'm not necessarily following Warcraft lore, nor WoW. I'd prefer to give the troll's grounds some more prehistoric look - as for a primitive, but very adaptive and resourceful culture, which survives in the harsh conditions of the Ancient Jungle. So I think the Raptors and any other dinosaurs would be at least obsolete.
The bears actually fit very well with saber-tooth cats. They could be replaced by gorillas and racoons - by monkeys, but it is a matter of taste. The Jungle may look like a tropical forest or like some continental/mixed type. But I don't want to import too much new models, because this increases map size and - well, size matters :D
I'm actually trying to decrease it and I hope I will succeed.

Sorry, at the site there is no unprotected version of the game, with or without triggers. I could extract the terrain for you, but why would you need it? There is nothing special with it.

revival is already easy as anything.
1) In spirit form scout the jungle for materials while eating your own troll meat, sell materials, buy mana stone, sacrifice mana stone, resurrect.
2) or: scout the jungle, sell items at voodoo merchant, sign devil pact near merchant and instantly buy new soul deed.
3) or: sacrifice meat, more meat, even more meat, resurrect.

While in spirit form you may also fetch anakonda's mojo of powah, if such a quest is announced, and try spider mojo, which is quite hard (probaby impossible) because of spiderwebs blocking the access to it.

Small idea - poison resistance: troll may earn levels in poison resistance. Every level of resistance shortens the duration of being poisoned by envenomed weapon or animal bite.

lj2831929, I hope the next version will be ready by the end of February. There is one last major update to do and I'm working on it almost every day (though I can spend only 1-2 hours for that). After it I should try to fix the bugs reported by Viei and remove some more memory leaks.

clockwork2, there is already an option for troll sacrifice, as Viei tells you - any troll meat or skull can be sacrificed at the Totem to restore to it great amounts of mana.

Viei, such an option as leveled poison duration doesn't exist in Wc3. I may be able to create it by triggers, but it would cost me too much time for a comparatively small improvement of the gameplay. I'd prefer to use that time for something more needed by the players like the damned multiboard, which I still cannot make the way I want.

Hey there! Great map you've got there, spent so much time looking for oil, aarh! :ogre_rage:
Then i got one of my friends try 1v1 and it is even better! Though, i have one idea. Which is, adding one or more "warcraft races". I see the whole theme is not that warcraft-ish, but trolls surely are. So, my thought is, add one or two "neutral" races in form of AI-ed, but small pack or tribe of say, 3 to 5 members, just like animals. Difference will be, they will be using sort of rudimentary weapons (and armour), much like low-tier trolls. Bone daggers, flint spears, clubs, fur clothing, rarely working metal, and such things as campfires, huts, maybe watchtowers. First, it cloud be murlocs. You know, those little, hunched, frog-fish-men. They are just adorable. :ogre_hurrhurr:. Second, ogres, again, hulking heaps of bone, muscle and lard, what's not to love? And last one, some primitive orc or goblin tribe, i love them, so i put them everywhere even if they don't fit. Thumbs up for Erik Linbeast's suggestion. It would be very challenging to fight/ambush some third side. It could be a merchant caravan, or bandits, or something else. Thing is to get to them first and kill them, gaining some treasures, bonuses, useful stuff etc. OR it could be a threat to whole jungle, that must be defeated together or not (like scourge, legion). I saw a gates on the right side, just next to teleporter.

Thanks, mon. :thumbs_up: But... i was thinking about something similary primitive as our loved trolls, maybe even more primitive. Murlocs, ogres, kobolds, primitive orcs or goblins, whatever. And i'd like a choice of actually siding with them. :ogre_hurrhurr: And i got one more idea today. When our trolls can cultivate herbs and berries, how about wheat? Vegetables, or, fungus? Mushrooms can be really nice touch of randomness. Will it poison you? Will it heal, feed, warm you up? Just some thoughts.

im thinking of adding pickable mushrooms :D
you pick a mushroom and you can eat it with a random chance:

1)Poisonous Mushroom: causes you to take damage over time
2)Tasty Mushroom: causes you to restore hp and hunger
3)Insanity Mushroom: causes you to lose control of your troll of a set amount of time(maybe 5-10 seconds) and your troll starts running around xD

and all of those will have a random chance :D

that would be cute a idea..it would also be nice to use herbs to craft various poisens(for the hunter)and be able to apply them on his bow or traps..each having different effects:
Gangern poisen: if a troll dies from this poisen, it is turned into a insanite(or a bear-troll.)the player still lives but is tamable by the hunter(or subverted into his ally automatically)

Slow Poisen: Slowly eats away at the victims health, and his leg muscles and arm muscles, slowing him abit.

Zynthium: a mysterious poisen that cuases insanity, no damage..but hallucinates(like in toy soldiers the victim shall see fake trolls and animals).a handy albeit weak poisen.

Yea mon, i was thinking almost exactly the same!:thumbs_up: i think no troll would know what fungi is in front of him, until he eats that mushroom, with possible exception of shaman and maybe hunter, who'd identify the mushroom. And about mushroom types, i was thinking of something like this.:

Yeast Cap/Jungle Grog - 15% chance - Dere be lot of alcohol in dis here fungi! It ferments all da time and got a kick! Old troll likes it a lot. It be giving you 25%chance to miss, but you get 25% attack speed and give you +25 heat! There be chance you are mistaken and get poisoned instead. (20%, 2hp/s 50s)

Snake fungus - 15% chance - Don't eat dis mon, it be poisonous! But you can put it on your favourite stabbing weapon! It hurts fer 2hp per second fer 50s.

Grey mushroom - 10% chance - Mon, dis mushroom be just useless. You can still eat it, but it be no tasty and will give you just +5food. There be chance you are mistaken and get poisoned instead. (20%, 2hp/s 50s)

Meatball mushroom - 10% chance - Big, juicy and somwhat rare, but delicious mushroom, dat be not made of meat, but tastes like it! It sate your hunger fer +30food and heal you fer +10hp for 10s. There be chance you are mistaken and get poisoned instead. (20%, 2hp/s 50s)

Shaman moss - 10% chance - Rare, useful herb that shamans use fer curing fevers and illnesses. It be healing fer +25hp instantly and have 50% chance of curing disease.

Mad Shroomies - 5% chance - Rare fungi that be granting you +50% damage and +50%attack speed, but you lose control of yourself and attack nearest living thing, friend or foe, for 12s. There be chance you are mistaken and get poisoned instead. (10%, 2hp/s 50s)

Flaming mushroom - 5% chance - Orange fungus with leathery skin that creates unstable gasses in its insides that catch aflame when it's skin cracks. It can be thrown at 500range, damaging the target for 50damage and stunning it for 1s.

Death Tooth - 5%chance - Shaman's favourite, more deadly than the most poisonous animal in da jungle. It can be applied to your favourite stabbing weapon to hurt for 4hp/s for 50s. There be chance this is just ordinary poisonous mushroom. (20%, 2hp/s 50s)

+Food mushrooms can be stewed to double their bonuses, poisonous mushrooms can be transformed into poison gas.

1) Egg нельзя жарить на костре.
2) Mask mojo of life - слишком слабая и потому непопулярная. Ее надо сделать сильнее.
например:
+10 streng ( +30hp +hp regeneration )
3) Alligators - рожает детенышей 1 lvl тогда как они являются яйцекладущими - они должны делать egg alligators.

3) Дааа, это правильно... Я подумал это как игровая абстракция - игрок увидит маленкий алигатор и не увидит как он вырастил из яйцо. Но можеть быть ты прав и я должен сделать это с яйцами.

Gadina_prokleta дело в том что Mask mojo of life непопулярная среди игроков. За многие годы игры в JTR я ни разу не видел чтобы кто-то ее делал. Надо ее усилить. Притом что gigant egg and mana stoun трудно найти.
Mushrooms - мое предложение , заменить frogs на mushrooms что обновит игру и не поменяет баланс. К тому же меня всегда удивляет что с frog 3lvl - 2 meat !!!! а с Troll - 4 meat ... Frog - очень большая оО ! Сделай please Frog=1meat (2 and 3 lvl , 1 lvl=0meat)

Dark-Red amphibian meat, with remains of flesh that's green veins are still pulsing filled with posion.
Looks like it still eatable if i remove posioned parts and cook it on fire"
Monsters can't eat it.
Trolls need to cook this meat before eating, or DIE in agony ";...;"
Posion can be extracted for improving wepons.

"Soul Essence"
Flickering in moonlight, this bit of a trolls soul can be used for voodoo or enchanting items.or you can eat it to increase health, SLIGHT chance of becoming a Soulpyre(a troll which loses all his abilities and crafts, and is replaced with a vampiric craft tree and a suck soul ability.however he DOES get a good health, though it drains slowly if you are low on food.which is now only attainable via eating souls).
it twitches when i touch it, is it dead?

I hope there are no critical bugs, but considering how much work there was done, everything is possible. Please share your thoughts how it works, tell me if there are any problems and suggest some improvements, if you see them as very important.

random animal spawn update is great, it makes the gamplay more lively and u cant go roaming carlessly coz u can be attacked byk bear, snake, etc.
about the feline, well it stated in ur changelog u want to make more ancient looks but i think it's a bit off, coz inventor can make gun, etc, so jtr cant be in ancient time,but it's still good as it is.
maybe u can bring wolf back, to make more diversity to enrich the game

Thank you, I am happy you generally like the update.
alelil, I had to choose between the two basic types of predators, because if we have both of them, there should be 2 types of animal skins. Even if we consider them equal, much work should be done just to put the alternative skin to every crafting recipe and tooltips. And as it doesn't improve the gameplay very much, I prefer to not do it in favor of other updates.
Viei, now I got it - your finding that it happens after you dismount a totem (and also siege tower and some other rare units) was the key. Fixed for next version.
Idol's mana regeneration? You mean the Totem?
And speaking of it, your observation is right. There is an exploit and I should think how to make it unprofitable.
There are still some leaks, but I was in hurry and in doubt considering some of them. All location leaks have been fixed, but there are some player group/unit group leaks and some other rare leaks.

At first look random breed screws up all game strats, at second - all game, because you can't run through the jungle without dying

Here is a list of bugs i've come across.

1 Aligator giant egg does not give food when a troll eats it, it cannot be cooked,and it cannot be used to make a mask of life.And when i try to kill an aligator egg sack, i have to kill an egg sack for every egg.for eXample if there are 3 aligator eggs, then there will be 3 overlapping egg sacks.

2 To resurrect a river crab(lvl2 80 hp) with shaman you need 2 crab chitin.

3 when a shaman drops and arcanum, then picks it up again, the spell cool down reset.I've seen people abuse this with arcanum of darkness.Cast freeze, fire bolt lightning bolt, drop arcanum ,pick it up, then fire bolt lightning bolt again.

4 when i click on "create vodoo scriptures" in the totem and there is no parchment there,totem loses 250 mana and the scripture cool down starts again.Maybe it shuld give a message"there are no parchments in the totem" instead of consuming mana for nothing and waiting for cool down.

5 I'm not 100% sure about this, but i remember that rotten animals are immune to poison. Based on this i know that rotten antelopes are not immune to poison.
Again i don't remember eXactly if rotten animals are immune to poison, but if they are, the antelope is not immune.
Also are undead animals immune to diseases?

Vodoo Monster does not grow when eating food, he regenerates hp from food, but no mana.That said, i've never seed a fully grown vodoo monster because of this.

Siege engine bugs- the pathing does not take into consideration the trees.I tried to send the catapult somewhere and it always gets stuck trying to go thru the trees.
-also sometimes the pojectile does no dmg to buildings, i'm not sure why.

Rotten stag does less dmg then rotten antelope

that system is not meant for showing only criticals lol
it shows dmg dealt on a unit and the name of an ability when it's cast...
anyway it was just a suggestion to improve the eye-candy on your map

I was a hunter and crafted a Tortoisearmor, but I couldnt wear it! But it said that I can wear it... :(
Oh, and also it would be great if you would know if you can use an item or not BEFORE crafting it...

Bugs I found:
- The plague in animals consuming 10 HP every 10 seconds
- You can not tame the alligator first lvl
