It's been around 2 years I began studying C++ and VisualBasic by myself, and two months ago I began learning C++ at High School (yes, the High School near home is doing an extension project and some students were chosen to learn advanced programming).

I started modding war3 when I was 10, however for two years I had no idea of Triggers and didn't even know the Convert to custom text command, but I got a great knowledge about the Object Editor. Then I started with Triggers and quickly passed to JASS (Triggers were quite easy to me, dunno why).

Now, I have almost five years of experience, however I can't even compare myself with the legends I know.

Sometimes I feel so stupid xD

Im 13 but i know programming languages etc. nowadays (internet and evrthing) age isn't really as much of a barrier anymore, and i think this is good why should people not be able to do something they are capable of doing just because of their age.

... how old is the creator?
Hossomi-Sama (Age = 14)
This subject has come up in the past. An age thread already exists, although I'm sure you dont remember it, Marcelo. I have cleaned all the spam out of the old thread and will merge this one so all the data related to this subject will be kept in the same place.

Since that thread also includes a poll, users can vote and add their names to the poll results.
Older than you can possibly imagine.
I'm older than even RDZ can possibly imagine. :p

~ Thread merged.

I am 24, and probably one of the older ones here. Although Wolverabid has us all beaten, assuming I did the math correctly.

And since this topic somehow deviated to also include programming skills...

I write PHP, Perl, C, and Visual Basic regularly (for my job).
I also know C++, Java, ML, and HTML. (and JASS too )
On my wishlist to learn: Python, C#, and Ruby.

For fuck's sake, get Python off that wish-list!
I've heard that half of the people hate python, and half of the people absolutely love it...there is no middle ground.

Not sure if that's actually true, but I will admit that python does look a bit peculiar, with it being sensitive to whitespace and all.

On topic:
It really is an interesting thing. Each of us makes a lot of guesses about each person's age when visiting a forum. Often we guess correctly, sometimes not. Knowing someone's age really changes the way you speak with them...

We always get this image of a person based on their avatar and the way they speak. Few people's ages i found relatively easy to guess. Mostly, i'm surprised by the ages of some of you people. I really never knew everyone here was so much older than me :bored:

It's more the floppy attitude to variables that gets me. You don't actually have to Dim anything, but half the time you need to init the varaiable anyway. I just don't think it's very efficient, and it's certainly not the kind of attitude you want to be teaching to people that have never programmed before (they taught us in first year university, and plenty of people in there had never programmed).

Seriously?! I never would have thought in a million years that I would be one of the older guys... Or, well, not until I passed 20 anyways xD

I'm 17 :) I started out at wc3c when I was 12, that's like five years... God I feel so old... Well, I guess grandpa has to go take his medicine for his hurting back now (which is true, my back hurts astronomicly and I'm on medicine for it :p Only for ten days though!)

But it's good to have some fresh, young blood here ^^ You are the future!

A while back, but I don't see where the deviation started >.<

Okay, C++, VB. HTMLs a scripting (or was it called document?) language, so you can't really put that in. Oh, and a little bit of Java! (COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE!)

The logic is back in place! So many below 18, no wonder I see some 'nice' comments. Holy s*** what am I doin here? oO

Hey Wolverabid, I had a sense you are not a kiddie, I noticed this from your posts, you know to react maturely even to bad situations. GJ, I used to have some admin 'colleagues' one of them was 41 oO, but he was nice so all liked him
