High elven Sorcerer

Heyo guys!

This is my new model, the High elven Sorcerer. In my campaign I needed a new elven caster, not the boring priest or sorceress. So I made this:)
And please don't say, HEY HE'S GOT NO WEAPON...,he's supposed to cast spells out of his hand and attacks that way.
462 faces or so...

Give Credits if you use it and don't distribute this model in any way, and ask me before you edit. Have fun with it :D

PS: If the model get's approved, i will make a better screenshot:)

Update!: Changed the internal name, deleted all unused bones, textures materials, and made the talisman like crystal:)
Update!: Made the cape like Misha suggested, so it don't goes through the head peace.
Update!: Added Hero Glow, fixed the wrap on the cape, gave the upper body the priest texture and changed the death sound.

I have seen all of the models & skins on the hive and I have to say I don't like any of them very much at all. But this, It is good for not having any custom textures. One of the things in this though I dislike is that the legs are golden but everything else is bluish more arcane-looking. I'm not saying you have to change it. And I like the hood but I'd like it if it was more like jaina's hood where you can see the hood on top of the hair.

The wrap on his mantle is messy - the line in the middle is stretched. The wrap on his cape is quite strange, unless you intended it that way, which I doubt - there is a golden line "separating" the cape in two. Even if you intended it that way, it still looks strange. And there is a black line in the middle of above mentioned gold line, which is clearly not intentional. In addition, the wrap on his chest was not changed from the base model, which is Medivh, and it looks quite strange. A bare chest with red wrappings... For a high elf? Come on...

And the mantle is folded in very strange way. You could have deleted the feathers instead of incorporating them in the mantle as a part of the cloth, but even if you wouldn't want to do that, you could've move the vertexes a bit - just a bit - so that it wont look as weird. Also, for an unit model, it misses the Decay Flesh and Decay Bone animations. For a hero, it misses hero glow. And, why does he screams like an old man(namely - Druid of the Talon) when he dies? Makes no sense for me, but I guess it's not such of a big problem... And he doesn't seem to have blood-splats, and lastly, he seems to have event objects and "helpers" that are not needed as they do not refer to any mesh or animation.

Overall, I think it is acceptable, but is really lacking. You could have modified the mesh a bit more, for example.

I like it, but it looked better in blue. Now his skin looks like leather, i mean, its like an piece of cloth. Anyway, it looks nice and the animations really fit this model. Keep up the good work :D

Please tell me that the orange color is team color. ANd yes, he could be used for anyone in high elven society, its just great, because it resembles they're traditional clothes.

yes, of course the orange is team colour:) i only seted the teamcolour in magos to anther colour, didn't looked at that

thx for the review! +rep for that. i'm going to fix the things you wanted, but some things you said, like, the black line in the golden line that seperates the cape, or his bare chest with the red cloth, do you really think this will be so visibly ingame? i think no.and i tested it. but i'm going to fix that...

Mhm, i don't have time to update the model, but for the thread: I know, but it is not the only one, for example: GF's model gallery has the same bug...but don't worry, I'll update it soon.

Why does he doesn't have a wand anymore? How he is going to attack?

There are a few problems I would like to point out.

First of all, this unit does not has a decay animation. When it dies, its body lies there forever, which is unforgivable for Solo, Campaign-using. If it is only usable on Dissipation for a hero, then please make a unit version for this.

Secondly, For all of those people who is screaming "Give credits, you are not allowed to edit this model", save your breath. If someone really wanted to hack this, or ignoring your name on the credit-board, you can't stop them. It isn't illegal, it's just personal humanity and nonself-respect.

Lastly, the animations are dull. Attack and Spell, Channeling animations are the same. The unit attacks with its fist, which is pretty ironical, like a melee.

Overall, good Model. 3/5
