YOu noticed I did not make the grass, just linked it to you.
Yes, I know though it is just a way of thanking you also.

The terrain really lacks a centerpiece or something that will attract you for a brief moment or something.
how about adding a small river that's only pass-able(?) through a bridge? So the main theme of the terrain is forest but a forest with only just trees and rocks is just boring so putting something that will attract the player like a temple or other structure for example can avoid your terrain to be monotone.

or perhaps some chopped down trees to break the monotone?
I was gonna suggest adding some destroyed buildings like a burned downed city but it sounds too random.Actually almost anything that isn't a tree, bush, rock and other usual forest doodads will do.
There is a nice set of doodads on UTM 3.0 that I can't remember what is called. Try looking for it
Just remembered the name of the doodad set, its 'Naboo', take a look of that.
If I remember it right, there are some high elves building on wc3c. Why not try that?
About the terrain, its still empty, flat and the flower spamming looks unnatural.
The flatness problem will be solved later on so not much of a problem with that and I shall reduce the flowers to avoid spamming. It's just that I cant find something more that can fit on the terrain (or maybe I am just too lazy to search) so I just did spammed what can be putted into it.
I remember the times when a spam was considered a good terrain as long as it is not empty, now people demand everything much more strictly.
Not really, its still depends on your technique on spamming doodads. I just made a 23x22(32x32) map with 2111 doodads yesterday and it went pretty good even though its just a spam fest.
Whatever spamming doodad technique it still lags the computer.. diba?
Are you sure? On a friend computer after he tried a map of 192x192 with 10.541 doodads the game started to lagNo? Its part of the technique to keep the map playable and no lag
There might be other reasons for that, it is hard to believe. On a friend computer after he tried a map of 192x192 with 10.541 doodads the game started to lag
Maybe; i don't know, i never had that problem. There might be other reasons for that, it is hard to believe.

Well yeah! Anyway, i doesn't matter....where talking about Heroes Tale!Getting off-topic now?
Spamming or a using a few doodads only does not matter as long as the thing is balanced and does not hit a dagger in your eye and looks pretty.
For example the image that SonofJay posted it hits the dagger, since on the road there is 0 doodads and the edge is way too sharp and after that the terrain is 100% covered in doodads.
Ouch!Did it not hit you that its pretty weird for someone who is a sucker on details to leave such obvious flaw on his terrain for no reason?
No problem! I wondered when you'd update those screenshots:> Anyway the new ones look good!About the first post, I have reset the Progress to the current ones now and also removed all of the old screenshots and I mean all of the old's traces.
Are you really working on this? Cause you just show us terrain screenshot every week or two that can be done within a few minutes.
Good question! I hope you haven't lost sight?!?Are you really working on this? Cause you just show us terrain screenshot every week or two that can be done within a few minutes.
