The is an altered melee game where you can play as the Emerald Nightmare faction.
Besides the new units and gameplay, the faction has fully customised aesthetics: meaning
every model, texture, icon and music has been changed to give a truly immersive experience.

( The map is only playable on Reforged with HD settings enabled )

The project itself is an entry for the Techtree Contest #14

Lore:
The idea of the Emerald Nightmare is taken directly from the official Warcraft lore.
The Nightmare was mentioned and appeared throughout most WoW expansions.
Its full manifestation was best seen in the Legion expansion's Raids and Dungeons.

The Nightmare represents the Old God corrupted Emerald Dream (a realm of nature magic).
In the heart of this corruption lies Il'gynoth a creation of the Old Gods. Your goal will be to
spread the Nightmare beyond the Dream by corrupting your enemies and Azeroth herself...

Unit models, textures and icons were done by me, with some edits of original
icons and generous use of official blizzard art assets (mostly hearthstone).

I really like what you have done with this & had quite some fun with this. Keep up the good work! Approved!
Just to let you know, the icons in this map don't work and bug out if Texture quality is set to low in the settings just an FYI :) Great map otherwise. Found the Emerald Nightmare to be particularly strong vs Human and weaker against Orc but it might just require different tactics.
UPDATE regarding icons:
You are right, the icons need to be saved in a different way, but it will increase their file size sadly.
This means I'll need to update my icon's template I posted on Hive.

I might make a gameplay video after the contest, and redo some aspects of the map...
Have found 1 minor bug already: dryad has mana, while she shouldn't -.- for for contests sake I won't change it now.

Regarding balance, the idea is to go for Tree form against melee builds, with some Aspect (ultimate ancients) to tank the damage. At the same time use Feralkins and spider druids from range (or blink in to snipe casters).
If anyone thinks Dragons are OP, just check the DoT of Corrisive Breath from Chimeras.
 
What I wanted to know is whether the graphics settings need to be at maximum for the map to work correctly
I see, well I have fixed the icons to to appear in all graphics settings, same with models, so I see no reason for them not to (have play-tested in lower graphics, worked for me).

Greetings,

When launching the map, I don't have any occasion to play as Emerald Nightmare, despite having their music and interface. Also, in game the map is still called by the melee map name; is all of that normal ?

And I may precise that this work looks impressive, it may be the first done since Reforged.

I really need to remake this mess some day, by no means was it finished. But I won'r remove this upload, just know it could be better.
 
We should get a custom race section under maps for our planned Reforged section, would be cool to have official custom races that all can help contribute to. I can see this map being a great example, it just needs some more love.
Altered melee already exist I believe. Sure hope the max. filesize of 256MB will be increased though...

Is there any chance you working on more race maps? that'll be just way too good for reforged.

Examples I can think of

1. Gnolls
2. Worgens
3. Forsakens
4. Dalarans
5. Kul Tirans
etc... there are a lot of awesome possible races we can play in reforged :)

Well since I'm preoccupied with CSW definitely not now.. also please don't forget, this is Emerald Nightmare was pretty much my very first project, with very little experience.
I should probably polish it once current project is released.
It looks good because full aesthetics overhaul, but gameplay, spells etc. was rather rushed.
