Oh and anyone knows what sleeping is good for, besides the well rested effect (which I'm immune for as a werewolf)? If I don't sleep for a while, people start saying I should visit the inn etc, but I still don't have any negative effects. I haven't slept in like a week, I think.
Waiting for shops to open
first thing I have stuck is setting my char's name, how am I supposed to select the name button at race menu start?

yeah that part's a bit misleading. Customize your character how you want first, and when that's all done, press "accept" or whatever and THEN it'll ask you to type in a name

so I remade the companion armor D8 into legendary (still short of two dynamo cores for gloves and boots)

I would be really pissed now if I found out enchants actually don't apply on followers
but seems they do (already tried nuking her to oblivion while she wears 100% fire resistant gear and it appears to be working)

kept the ebony mail on (the shadow aura really is cool and I have a bad luck finding a stock ebony armor piece)
and the heck do followers use their own arrows ? or what ? are they unlimited ? I never managed to figure that out
also the damage seems to be based off my stats not hers (+168% archery) I hope only they display value is incorrect
EDIT:
found out, just slap a single arrow type in her inventory and she will use it without limit, troll game balance fail
EDIT2:.. she is bugged (won't use any other bow just her original one) damn game *confiscates the bow for personal use*

You have to give them arrows

like what, a single arrow of a single type, or what?

though it's not like arrows are hard to find. Go through any dungeon with draugr and you come out with like 200 ancient nord arrows

yup, appears followers use the type of arrow currently equipped without actually using it up so you can just place a single arrow in there
but anyways looking for fixes it appears many followers are majorly glitched and will rarely use other arrow and bow than their default one regardless of the quality of the one you gave them

I even tried adding 100 to my pick pocket skill and the steal weapon perk via console hoping I can take/replace it but the default bow/arrow doesn't appear in their inventory
luckily found the console fix for updating follower's stats
but still mine for example equips daedric bow in town/out of combat but when she actually goes to combat she reverts back to that old wooden crap

weird I play on master difficulty as well and her ebony arrows aren't being used up
what companions you have ?
and seeing it's a pretty common feature/glitch I'm starting to think it's limited to certain companions

edit: found out that you actually can remove their default bow by showinventory > removeitem ID but only for a limited time as it gets re-loaded afterwards..

From what I've seen, I believe each companion has their own type of arrows they can use infinitely. I've never given any of my companions any arrows, but they are still able to use their bows (and I'm playing on master). I'm using an orc companion right now, and have been for some time, but he's never run out of orc arrows.
If you want them to use different kinds of arrows though, then you'll probably need to give them some, yeah. Or maybe even that doesn't work? Are you sure the arrows you've given your companions are the ones they're using?

Sleeping is good for wasting time, but not breaking your roleplay by waiting for 9 hours.

What's the difference between waiting and sleeping then? I have never even used the waiting, because I don't know how... But I'm wondering.

I need to look in on how to do that sometime, I've got a few quest items in my inventory that were never removed since the quest bugged out

Quest items don't have any weight though (or at least they don't add up), so that's not a big problem.

press T ;) controls are the same as Fallout 3 as it uses the same engine

Yes! Thanks. :p

Stupid mods are always for computers... I hate that... :(

Just wait till it's cheap and buy it again for the PC. Or better yet, wait for the PC GotY edition. All the good mods will be out by then as well.

I never said it's shit (even though it is)
"very own and specific art style"
I'm not against blizzard's attempts to stick to their "remarkable" art style (what in my opinion, is merely just an excuse for producing below-average, low poly visuals, showing no kind of technological advancement since yr2004 only to keep the production costs/efforts at minimum) but it's no excuse for how shitty it is. I've seen much better visuals with much more interesting art styles in indie games and all that for 1% of blizzard's budget. Trine for example.

what I'm complaining about is that Diablo 3 is technologically outdated in all ways and in my opinion what it is showcasing was outdated in 2006 let alone in god-knows-when-they-will-release-it and that if it was a game not made by highly critically acclaimed company with a giant horde of mindless followers it would be massively panned by critics in this area.

in general I think blizzard's games are the most overrated in gaming history. and that they only live off their immense fan base. they are an example of utterly mainstream profit-driven company that brought nothing new into the gaming industry since the vanilla wow.
and oh yeah, if "Starcraft 2" "trilogy" was named "Super cosmic trilogy ass saga star one" and made by "Manhole cover productions" it would get 5 out of 10 because it just sucks.

This is a completely idiotic dickless, elitist statement you're making... If every game had state-of-the-art graphics, then no one would buy them because they wouldn't be able to run the fuckers.

lol, nobody is talking about state-of-the-art graphics here, the concern are its below average graphics
(possibly bested by iphone games once it will go out or bested already, from the looks of it)
and that is a funny argument considering the consensus is that game developers attempt to make their games look the best they can
not only for the aesthetic value but to aid the sales of pc hardware components whose developers they usually closely cooperate with
but of course, activision blizzard would prefer to make more money themselves instead

thus their new "next gen" mmo better be groundbreaking and drain all the money the company hoarded throughout the years of eh.. hibernation
if it will end up being a third person/fps shooter imma strangle a goldfish

and really, what modern games look as poor ("artistic") as diablo 3 ?

1. When a new game comes out, and the graphic requirements are totally rigged, I like most people just wait for it to become old, then buy it when the computers of its time are cheaper, and/or I own one.

2. I'm very surprised at how high the requirements are for Diablo 3, but I'm not disappointed by them, not impressed either, they are really what I expected.

3. Speaking of 3rd person fps MMOs check this out... For all you Warhammer junkies like myself. Don't distract from the subject though. http://www.darkmillenniumonline.com/

I couldn't help but writing this down here; in game, I just kept fetching little this and that from npcs without them realising me stealing, leaving no bounty or anything behind me at all. Then once I was about to leave whiterun to go on a quest or something, those hired bandits suddenly began to attack me while I was right in the middle of a talk with khajiit merchants, it was scary at first but I killed them all rather easily thanks to guards around though, then I noticed their contract note. A laughter burst out when I read it. I would never guess that this could happen even in skyrim, it was so amusing XD who the hell is hert anyway?

I believe its the vampire chick whose husband you have to kill in the dark brotherhood quest

also interestingly I had a kid send thugs on me, for no apparent reason
it was the new sybil of dibella in markarth seeing as I very rarely ever steal
(pretty much limited to simply missclicking..) I wonder how it actually happened
also I believe the people who send thugs after you won't react the moment you steal but send thugs instead

so if you happen to steal anything without the person actually "noticing"
despite he clearly should
then there are high chances he actually did notice but will rather send thugs after you

You can't say Rage wasn't stunning, graphically and otherwise. I have full confidence in Bethesda based on their body-of-work. I wish they would make an RTS, man would it be epic.

Quest items don't have any weight though (or at least they don't add up), so that's not a big problem.

I know a lot of quest items say "Weight: 0", but I have one (some lute) with weight: 4, and an ivory dragon claw with weight 0.5

as well as 2 amulets of talos (I have no idea what quests this was for?) and 5 of those "unusual gem" spinny pink things, and
apparently I have to take them to someone in the theives' guild, which I have to join, which I don't want to join
, but they're stuck in my inventory anyway. BUH.

Also posting a few pics, has main quest spoilers

blades
armor looks pretty neat

what perk do I need to make it go past "superior"? I can make "legendary" orcish but I can't get the
blades
armor to go past superior for some reason

Blades is fairly over-done statistically, it sucked ass in Oblivion, but it's 3rd best or so in Skyrim...

hmm how high is your smithing ?

you can get anything to legendary but you need at least 100 pts in smithing and +100% smithing
smithing can go as high as +220% (with 100 enchanting/alchemy and their respective perks)
problem is having no perk in it Im not sure if you can actually upgrade blades armor once it is already upgraded

if that is the case you would need another one

and interesting tips about followers:
- they seem to be able to activate blessings for themselves (by using command)
- they supposedly seem to be able to learn magic from book if their skill is high enough, if they don't have corresponding skill they can't learn it
(for example lydia only has archery one handed heavy armor and block skills that raise with her level)
there are about 5 + followers that have one or multiple of conjuration, destruction, restoration, illusion or alteration skills
this is possible misconception as their magic appears to scale with their level as well
(early level brelyna maryon can only summon flame atronach however later on she can summon frost and possibly even storm atronachs or dremora lords)
giving them -mp cost items may actually be the cause as well (as the skills may exceed their actual MP)
I did not try with -100% mp on conjuration I may try sometime later lol
following this principle it is possible that high level magic casting followers can actually cast master level spells
the main three caster followers are the aprentices of winterhold, brelyna sports conjuration and alteration while j'zargo (khajiit mage) and the other guy
have destruction one handed and heavy armor (all three have illusion)

- followers level up but they skills will be stuck at their initial value when they were first loaded
to fix this, dismiss your follower (make sure to take all gear you gave him) go to
console, select him/her and type disable then afterwards type enable
your follower will reappear on the spot where he was recruited before and once
you recruit him back his level will get updated to yours , all followers appear to
have their main skills at level 100 when about 50 lvl
be careful because not taking off his items and disabling him may lead to his
inventory getting reset to default (your valuable items gone)
also your follower needs to be dismissed (and on his way home supposedly)
just disable him after you see the "follower leaves your service" message

It's at like 70 or so, and I have a ring with +15 smithing and gloves with +20 smithing that I use, as well as a +40 smithing potion

My smithing skills go the heavy armor route. Is it classified as "advanced armors" or something?

and yeah you can upgrade armor whenever you want as long as you have enough ingots for it, even if it doesn't actually make any difference

man there is a serious lack of special 2h swords in this game, all of the fancy stuff I've gotten has been with 1h swords, like dawnbreaker or dragonbane

weird then you should be able to get it to at least flawless
and even more weird is that I cannot upgrade my superior daedric (enchanted) even when I have the arcane smith perk it still keeps saying I lack the corresponding perk..
wow it works now lol...
it must have bugged out initially *frown*
omg and I remade two pieces already ffuuuuuuuuu, retarded game two dynamo cores down the toilet
well whatever not like I can use them on much else

well in any case you should get smithing to 100 then see

edit- J'zargo seems to get 100 destruction at level 50 and his stats do not cap at that level and can raise infinitely
also supposedly teaching via book actually works (if high enough stat)

Get some Smithing gear(Chest and Hands armor, plus rings and amulets), and drink a Smithing potion. Worked wonders for my
Nightingale
armor.

The thing is, unique\quest reward armor is not classified under any perk. The perks only work for REGULAR armor. So get level 100 in Smithing first.

Also, Khajiit with Heavy Armor and 2H weapons is pretty retarded, even if you ARE a furry. ._.

Oh, and why do you guys need followers anyway?
Solo Dovahkiin ftw. :D
Lydia(and all of my other Housecarls) is officially my housemaid. The rest of the people who can follow me(there's a lot of them) I never bother.

Meh, its racials aren't really good for any playstyle in particular anyway, so

They DO brawl a lot better, though. :X
However, my point was mostly lore-wise and just... Based on what makes sense. I mean, if I were to make a warrior character, I'd go with Orc, Nord, or Redguard, and possibly Imperial(but Imperials are generic and boring).

BTW, how do I drop X amount of items, when I have 5 or less of that same item?

Like, say I want to drop all three of my Hagraven feathers in one go. How do I do that? Can I do that at all? :X

J'zargo is supposedly the best mage
problem with mages though is they usually prefer magic (as long as they have mp) over any other weapon they have
so he will usually end up dualwielding spells instead of fighting with weapons you give him
and they aren't very durable but later it gets irrelevant as brelyna can take like 6+ times more damage than me....

Well as an assassin I think followers suck hard... No matter who I take with me (even DB initiate) will make me discovered in one way or another... They either don't have enough sneak to come with me or just go rampage after my first hit with arrow, making it lots of times impossible to land more than one sneak attack - especially true for groups which I could annihilate silently...

ok so I actually recruited J'zargo
even tho I liked him since start, lol his quest sucked utterly I killed myself twice and turned my companion against me .... with the frakking scrolls he gave me
makes it pretty clear it was an attempt to get rid of the competition... above anything else

he seems to favor his destruction magic over anything else (over staffs or any other weapon you gave him) and he is very poor at it, he predominantly uses
shock type magic and goes around shooting thunderbolt with ward in his other hand while in the worse case (the more common) he dual wields spark which yeah you guessed it utterly suck
at master difficulty he barely did any damage to regular chaurus with his sparks
he can do somewhat better with thunderbolt but it's his least prefered option it seems
unless he does much better with some -destr mp cost (if it works for the followers thats it) then he is not worth the hassle (or removing his sparks via console, leaving him to use his other spells or weapons he possess)

but being one of the two exclusive Khajiit followers and due to his very likable character Imma mess around with him some more later
and turn him into one-handed/shield destr mage follower for the heck of it

wee and yes he looks like anybody else in daedric, just has a fluff tail

edit: swapped his armor with mine ending up with him having 0% destr cost while me having 250 bow damage..
and will see how it goes
so 0% mp cost does jack shit, Imma try with +mp enchants reading a claim of somebody whose J'argo actually started casting firestorm.. after his mp was raised up significantly
another very intriguing thing is that I ran into an unbound dremora lord o_O on the college while fighting a dragon
at first I thought brelyna summoned him because he kept following us around but appeared to be just a coincidence as he was chasing the dragon the same way I was
then after the dragon died he simply walked away

But even quest items with weight don't add up to your total inventory weight. You can check if you want. Just drop all other items and see if your total weight is 0. Their weight only counts after the quest is over.
I remember giving an Amulet of Talos to an old woman in Solitude, the mother or wife of the guy they killed when you first enter the city. And yeah, I still gotta drop off those gems as well.

Also, I remember people having problems with putting a spell on the right hand via the quick menu. I just found out that before selecting your spell or weapon in the quick menu, you can change the hand you want to apply it to. So open the quick menu, go to the spell/weapon you want, change hand (standard is left), and enter.

its not that much about the weight its about not having a god awful mess in your inventory
I found myself having hard time with carry weight early on so I kept using the steed stone, now I don't pick anything at all except for arrows/gems and gold maybe
and pwetty weapons yeah.. to decorate my house with lol

No... It doesn't count as anything. They don't gain in strength, nor do they increase one-handed or two-handed.

dang

well that sucks, I want him as a follower too since there aren't really any other khajiit followers besides that other caravan guy

I've got that other dunmer mage student following me now, and she's pretty decent. Tends to use either fireball (or firebolt, whichever is the non-explosive one) or sparks, sometimes wards when something's melee attacking her. Oh and also that ironskin or barkskin or whatever it's called. She also summons fire and frost atronachs which can be useful but can also be pretty annoying when you're sneaking as they tend to break stealth really easily

I'm not sure how "good" her destruction magic is since I'm only level 31 and haven't really hit the bad level scaling point yet

she has no destruction skill so I suppose she is stuck with firebolt
I use her as a distraction really, even tho she tends to summon frost atronachs at the worst of times (in narrow corridors cutting my escape routes off)
and her destruction magic is just about any other destruction magic (craaaaap)
she has stealth skill interestingly but conjuration and spells make a ton of noise because she tends to aggro right after your first shot

if you favor stealth type gameplay I'd suggest not using casters at all as they usually make ruckus quick (shooting spells even at the enemies you are still unable to see yourself)
I just put pretty much all staves on her, which can be pretty devastating as they are able to use pretty much any (except possibly healing) and dual wield them at rather crazy dps rate
however she will prefer them over her destr magic and burn them out really fast
notable staves you can use are

fireball staves (eye of melka)
icy spear/incineration staves (expert level destruction magic)
dragon priest staves (walls of fire or storms all over the damn place, Hevnoraak's staff but they appear to be more of an eye candy than actual damage lol)
god-broken paralysis staff that stunlocks pretty much anything for 10 seconds (damage wont break the stun)
summon storm atronach staff
and sanguine rose

most of these are found within a random dungeon or upon its completion
I'd suggest to get at least the paralysis staff which is just on the start of a tiny dungeon if Im not mistaken (or a random loot)
due to npcs having deadly accurate aim she rarely misses and you may find yourself
surrounded by an army of stoned enemies
it is unbelievably broken and it can stun even giants, draugr scourge or even dremora enemies
I found mine just laying around some dungeon so I guess it was a fixed loot but I totally forgot which one it was try the
ah yes found it: Snapleg cave

also sanguine's rose is pretty broken, it seems to summon random dremora and most are rather devastating
problem with this staff is that looking for the quest giver is extremely troublesome
if you don't want her to waste some staves on random enemies (wolves) just take it off her and give it to her whenever it gets tough
mine uses altogether around 10 staves (even raise dead and other random stuff)

and I suggest you get the black star if you didnt already

interestingly J'zargo will almost never use the staves (probably because he finds his skills more powerful *derp*) and will keep using his sparks/thunderbolt instead
either way I'm gonna give both some +mp items and see how it goes and whether anything changes at all
