We were going to transfer it to the map development forum after we got the main systems down. From there we were going to wait until it was 50% done to apply for the game to be a hosted project by Hive.

I'll send you the latest map I have of the system.Though the last time it was talked about, our old coder said it was so much of a mess that any other coder wouldn't be able to understand it.

I am good in understanding things, especially when I've made the systems they are linked to.

These are the talent trees for the game so far, incase you haven't seen them.

Also, each tree is divided into 2's, which will be obvious by the logo's used.

Great news though, we found our new coder! He is going to help us finish most of the slack, and hopefully finish this map with us!

Everyone please welcome our newest member and coder Inferior!

Also a quick update, now that we have a coder we will start to work on the spells system, and getting talent knocked out, once we do that we will get a couple of boss fights coded, drop system coded, quests coded in, and by that time we will have our first beta and start to call in the testers!

While this is all happening, give a very big thanks to Inferior for helping the project out, and another very big thanks to Anachron for helping out and debugging our talent system template so it can be used and ready for when we are testing!

At the moment, we aren't looking for beta testers, we will probably accept 2-3 more at the max. We are currently fixing the game up so we can throw out a beta.

Also, I can host, so there will be no problem when it comes to testing. I will have reserved beta testers incase some testers don't show up.

In other news, we are searching for a maximum of 4 more beta testers, if interested please don't be shy and throw up an application. If concerned about personal information being released, simply PM me your application.

Also remember, posting on the forums, giving your opinions, participating in some of the polls that are currently up, and just chatting in general, will give you that bit of an edge to be accepted into testing.

4 more on top of the current testers.

So far we have:

1. Anachron
2. Naturesidiot
3. Sander
4. Misfitkid14 (Might be kicked due to inactivity)

And 4 more, 5 if Misfit is dropped. If others show more enthusiasm on the official forums, they will have a higher chance of getting thrown in on application.

Though we only need 4 more players in, we will have 2-3 testers in reserve in case some players can not make it to the test.

The most current news is posted there. At the moment Inferior is working hard on systems and on the DPS tree's talent spells. Depending on how soon we can knock out the talents will help us push in to testing sooner.

Well all of the updates will be on the actual website, I don't really link the news on here, when I update I will usually throw up a snippet from the update, and link you to the rest.

But of course, as I said, it would just be easier to use the website, as it will provide you with the most information.

Not really sure what you mean, but yeah, pop on the Ardent Heroes Forums every now and then to check on progress and post there too if you have questions or whatever. Me, Yabooer, and possibly the other devs will reply as soon as we can. :wink:

I might be able to make both, the loading screen and the minimap preview.
But first, I need to know a few things:

I´ll have to make the background depending on the font. So do you want:

1) A hard, solid font, that stands strong in the image with a smooth, clean background.

2) A more careful font with serifs, with a more detailed background.

3) A rough font, that stands (with a big colour contrast) strong in a chaotic background.

4) A primitive font, that fits with the time and "style" this world has.

5) A beautiful font, with a clean, peaceful background.

These fonts have I used just to make a contrast. If you want any special, please let me know :)

Effects, light, background, (blood) and such will I add later, this is just an example of the font.

Quick update since we've been lacking on one.

Craka is terraining.

Inferior our coder is going on a trip and won't be back for a week, but the good news is that he is bringing his laptop so he will be able to work when he has downtime.

Catch, our other coder is currently working on the boss fights for us.

I am almost finished with this last boss (Which I've been taking breaks from so I have fresh ideas each time)

Forgotten has been working on attachments for us which is a GREAT thing.

Not sure on the how progress is coming on our loading screen, but of course I have faith and assume work is being done.

Also! To support our forum and our mod we need more people to go to our website and sign up, give us suggestions, speak to us about anything that is on your mind, find out about progress. http://ardentheroes.freeforums.org/

This is just an outcast of the loading screen I am creating. Is this too "peaceful"? Just an outcast though, so you can let me know if I am working in the right direction!

The Photoshop file is over 6 MB so don't want to upload it here :p

About the size:
804kb. Way too much as it's 1/10 of total map size allowed on the Battle.net, But 804kb is un compressed and fully quality, for outcast/testing purpose only. :)

Doesn't look too bad to me, maybe Craka can shed a bit more light on what he would like done or altered, I'll send him a message to see.

And we need more fans and a bigger user base, so anyone that would be so kindly to throw a sig linking to this or our actual forums or something to the likes of that, would be greatly appreciated.

It was discussed it looks fine, but of course this file will be severely reduced, correct? Also, about the background description can you blank it until we create one? It would take about a week or two tops.

We need as MUCH room as we can for the terrain, attachments, models, skins. All of that, can you give an estimate of how big the file will be? So we can judge if you should continue or not.

As for the preview I promised on the other page it will be posted here to save space on our update thread.

There will be 4 bosses, all which will fight you in different orders, there will be the main boss, Dath'Remar, the tank, Varo'then, the healer, Lestharia, and of course the dps, Illyanna.

They will all have unique abilities that will make you think on your toes, because they are an optional boss fight they have had their difficulty and strategies taken to the next level to provide a unique and fun fight. Positioning, stunning, dpsing at the right time, conserving mana, will ALL be key in this fight and making one wrong move will cause a wipe no doubt.

You will need to play smart or else this boss fight will eat you up instantly, though of course with great difficulty comes even greater rewards. Upon defeat of them you will receive a guarantee of 2 items at the minimum for each of the players participating in the fight.

Today I have been working on some minor details in the terrain and finalizing the pathing, so that we can be sure that alpha tests can commence immediately as soon as our coder Inferior has completed his given tasks. So far he and Anachron have been doing a lot in the coding area and their activity has encouraged me to get some work done.

It may not be enough to show off screenshots of the new small changes made, but it's good news regardless because this means the BETA testers may have something to look forward to. :wink:

Unfortunately I haven't finished the pathing just yet, but it's pretty close to being finalized for alpha and closed beta testing.

Okay guys, sorry for the lack of information.
I have been a bit of a rough time because I can'T get JNGP working on my new system. Its basically that I emulate win7 (wc3) on a linux system (ubuntu 10.10).

Once I got it to work, I will try to make a TalentTree beta so you will be able to use it.

If I can'T get it to work, sadly you have to finish my code. I have already started (untested, just written the basic code) and with a bit luck you will be able to understand and finish it.

Thats it from my site. (However, in the near future I will hopefully have more time.
