Well, in that case, we might as well come up with something to talk about xD
How about... what races we would like to see in Warcraft? Well, as I know at least a couple of people will say the Naga, we might as well say what we'd like to see in the race after choosing one in particular. We probably shouldn't go with Naga, the Naga have been done to death :S

I would like to see, for instance, the Mag'har race. I have no ideas about how they should go, so am wondering what anyone else has anything to say about them.

I hope. But I dont like the draenei buildings you use(I know they are the only ones that exist). They are too... naaru-ish. And exodarish.
If I will learn to make balanced races, and learn a little more about mapmaking, I will try to make a draenei race that looks like a real one.

I once thought about Warcraft after 2'000 thousand years.
I imagined their races(night elves and others)and technology, and saw that they look like races from RF Online.
Night elves - Cora
Humans - Bellato
Dwarves and gnomes - Those robot dudes

Its just that Cora have physical and some of architectual-living style similaries.
Gnomes and dwarves like mechanics so they could become totally robotic.
And humans and high elves(blood elves)would get completely mixed, and progress in technology, resulting bellato.
Secrets of the fututre unwrapped.

No, they would become kinda like necrons from Warhammer 40k.
And Nagas would fly away to the nice watery planet and would be some kinda like aliens. Serpent aliens. Maybe they would evolve a little...

And gnolls would become galactic mercenaries ^^

Misha, have you ever tough about making space marine naga?

They would have evolved into the plague itself, and create a new force... the Undead (Scourge) Swarm!
And come from planet to planet destroying everyone.
Draenei would become Jedi!
Cult of the Damned would become something like Necromungers(I dont know how their spelled)from Riddic 2.

And trolls would become... trolls.
Just with new technologies, that are old in the future.
Orcs... some mercenaries, some not.
Demons, will continue their demonic stuff, only more technological(or not).
Thinking of future Warcraft, it should be Star Wars styled.
Thats better.

Faceless race with AI

Since we are making races I thought "Hey why not also AI?".
And yes it isn't my race and AI is at experimental phase so don't expect an insane AI.All credits for race go to Wazzz.
AI is able to use all units and their abilities (gladiators are jumping like crazy), can create expansion towns...

Bugs:Hero doesn't use healing spell (maybe because it isn't very effecting, only 20hp in 10 seconds)
Comp doesn't use teleport (well not like he should)
Report any more if you find them ok?

And it looks like even the all mighty narwhals won't bring Interceptor back .

After converting (and cleaning the code, of course) a couple of obnoxious triggers the lag at the beginning of my map almost disappeared, so I continue on that way :)

I use AI Editor too, but I hate all that wait time when you change a single damned thing, so I don't make AI that much...

Here's an example of how do I use it, it's not a great method but gives decent results.

Who knows, you may discover some tricks by reading that, but almost surely not :xxd:

Those tutorials don't really help.I actually study other AI to understand it.Of course I don't copy it.The problem with AI editor is that computer tends to build everything in same other.Like if can make higher tier he would first wait to make first units. Also the reall races need more then one AI so computer wouldn't use same patern.

...who are you again?

To return on-topic, my AI always tries to help the allies early in the game, even if their troops are far away and between the two points there are a ton of creeps.

In the latter phases, they just don't care about allies anymore.

That's twice as disturbing and I never managed to solve these issues... :hohum:

Well maybe with conditions. Also the problem is that once hero is dead units run away and because hero always use drain energy he was easily killed by a human (Non AI) player.

But he did surprised me when he used Portal to quickly get away from computers mini base.Ironic thing was that orc AI followed him to his base with Taurens and wyverns.

About attacking I had problem that AI tried to "swim" to the gold mine and because of that stop in progression. And he ignored small creeps and attacked goldmine first (that is normal for AI in Boot bay map). But he seems to drag him self when he attacks real enemy. But eventually does it.

If the only bugs are these, then it must be a fairly good work

Orc AI is great :)

Are you telling me that your AI didn't try to buy a Goblin Zeppelin first, or they don't know how to use it? That's weird... reminds me of that Blizzard AI from the Undead campaign map in Quel'Thalas with the portals and that key divided into three parts...
That AI had the same problem as yours... :D

Alagremm's a Turkey? That would explain a lot...

Well, if you're looking for top-quality AI, you should definitely check out the AMAI. I'm not sure if you're able to see the conditions and such behind it all (you may be able to once installing it into a map), but it's such freakin' good AI, really tough to beat. Check it out:
Advance Melee AI
AMAI v2.53

Not sure which one is which, when I used it there was only 1 to choose from xD
Anyway, happy hunting :D

And if someone of us sends a PM to these guys saying
"let us see some example of your race-creating work in one of these things:
- Races
- Races techtrees
- UI
- Sounds
(I'd add "- Models")"

(Yes, the list has been blatantly stolen from the main page :D)

Well, I know that I can't vote, but it would be nice to see if someone among them is proficient enough...

(or they did send some examples?)
