Cmon, who DOESN'T love the idea of superhuman specialist infantry? Even all you dirty commies out there can agree. Supersoldiers are awesome. Supersoldiers than can cloak are even more awesome. Supersoldiers that can cloak and set nukes are... beautiful...

They're exact opposites, but they serve the exact same function. Hmm, now that you mention it, I want to see what the new creep looks like.

Heck, one of the reasons I don't like Wc3 is no superweapons. Humans have a holy nuke, horde would have an Extrme thunderstorm, Undead would have a corrosive/poisonous gas thingy, night elves would have some sort of uber "nature-takes-over" ability.

And Goblins would have nukes. Obviously.

Hero abilities are super weapons imo. Super weapons, by meaning, are special and powerful tools which few beings possess and have the ability wipe out many organisms. So continuing along with that definition in mind, it would be perfectly reasonable to say that high level AoE Hero abilities in the Warcraft universe are super weapons. Powerful tools such as a high level nova, or a high level BoF/Haze combination, are both able to effortlessly wipe out many units if used correctly.

But how many times to you see buildings wiped out in a single giant explosion?

Anyhow, superweapons have no place in warcraft, just like heroes have no place in starcraft. While starcraft is about large armies, warcraft is about small armies with many skillsets on each unit. Every unit is to be used to its full potential. To see buildings obliterated by some nuke from the other team is inconceivable. One must notice that food and resources are meant to be limited. (I think, haven't played melee in a long time ^^!) There is only 100 food in warcraft, while there is 200 in starcraft. In starcraft, the primary resource can be acessed by multiple workers. In warcraft, the primary resource is a goldmine, which, for the most part, can only be accessed by one worker at a time. Furthermore, upkeep takes away the gold you own. Units have much more abilities and upgrades. Starcraft is a game for large expendable armies, and superweapons are perfectly kosher there. But heroes and small squads of units usable in many ways belong in warcraft.

Erm, please, only 1 worker can mine from a mineral field at once...

You should also mention that warcraft units use more food than starcraft units, relative to their place in the techtree.

A single mineral field may only be mined by one worker at any given time. It is possible for workers to be queued up around a mineral field, or for several mineral fields to be stacked on top of each other (with a third party map editor), giving the illusion that the workers are all mining the same field.

You should also mention that warcraft units use more food than starcraft units, relative to their place in the techtree.
Waaay more... WC3 is about micro, SC is about massing.

A) gold mines give 10 gold, not 8 (factoring out upkeep here)

B) a worker needs to stay in a mine for about .5s tops. It takes at least 3 seconds to get minerals from a mine

C) Vespene Gas is rather limited (a slightly slower gold mine), and both resources are important in starcraft. In many cases, you'll find yourself out of gas and unable to increase your gas income without major troubles. In WarCraft, infinite workers (up to the point where they don't fit) can harvest a tree, making there only be one serious limitation

Also, in starcraft, you use a lot more money ;)

but PP, in starcraft you can get gass forever, sure, at a lower rate, but it still yeilds some. Capitalize on 2-or 3 of those, and you got infinite gass reasources.

Infinite gass gives you some sweet options that...wood never will, like the ability to get as many ghosts as your pop cap will allow for HALF the price of a marine.

Running off even 3 depleted geysers is hell. Try building anything significant... Also, once you hit rock bottom on minerals, you're screwed anyways ;)

Ghosts suck for combat, except versus infantry >_>. It's not like you can produce them at a reasonable rate from depleted geysers, anyways.

Meh, ill admit, i havent played starcraft in years, i may not remember my tactics so well, basicly for me if i was running low on minerals id make ghosts instead of marines.

neither am i, but sometimes, i find a player who is equally matched with me, and besides, i often play defencively.

For me it was not un-natural to end up with no minerals left on a map at the end of a game.

one of the few things that ticks me off with SC is that late games can become reasource wars, and the one with the most wins. (in some cases)

Actually, the zergling always had 4 legs and the 2 spear things coming from the neck. If you look closely in the original starcraft, they bob their heads forward to attack instead of standing on thier hind legs (which they would have to do if they had scythes). Oh, and heres a pic of the wc3 zergling model:
