Windows 7 SP1 questions

First of all, if I install this, will certain mods/games I installed be unable to run? Like with certain rumors regarding Windows 10?
Secondly, how do I install it without being somehow forced into a windows 10 update?
If you could answer these questions, that'd be great.

If you install an OS, you will have to format your computer,losing all your files(games, mods, etc). That is unless you upgrade from vista, then you don't have to format your computer. Everything should work just fine on windows 7 so you don't have to worry about things not working. As for the W10 forced update, simply turn off automatic updates. Although I do recommend downloading security updates only.
