No, by experndable I mean that the amounts are limited and they won't restore, so after you scavange few buildings in city, they'll become useless and will have nothing else inside you could use, except for the walls to protect from zombies, so you'll be forced to search for stuff to scavange somewhere else.
So, if all the resources except for those you can grow or just collect from certain spot (Like water, fish, croops and such) are limited, will the zombies be limited too, or will they have a way to respawn.

Zombie wiki? Okay, now that sounds like one of the most useful wikias in world!

You know, the chain swarm kinda gave me an idea how zombies could respawn. Ussually they don't, but if you make lots of noise (Explosions and gunshots) while trying to clear out the land from local zombies and other players, the noise will cause zombies from neighbour regions (aka from outside the playable map) to come to the area. So yes, even if that machinegun can kill zombie even from few shots in torso, not to mention head, it doesn't mean it's gonna make your life better. Most likely it will make it nightmare... otherwise that could be quite an efficient way of getting rid of your enemies. You find a well-fortifyable home somewhere zombies can't get, stash all the supplies you need there, then make some noise and wait for zombies to kill other players...

Alright, so, during the mass panic in which everyone was going to opposite way from the zombie horde, they generated these pileups. The zombies caught up, havoc ensured. So, I propose adding cars with zombies still inside that can (depending on the zed) attack you if you are close enough by smashing the window (even grabbing and biting). Stronger zeds can just smash the door off and smarter zeds can open it. But yes. Basically these are the people that were already bitten and turned in their cars whilst in the mass panic pileup. It'd also makes hotwiring cars, salvaging parts, etc a tad harder.

Another system that must be implemented is the Chain Swarm.

Well, zombies in the cars would be very realistic, but I have absolutely now idear how to implent it.
The chain gives it self, all zombies have a moan abillity which lures other zombies closer. Every time a zombie is targeted by the moan, it makes one itself which continues the chain.

Zombies mortality depends on the players choice in the start of the map. But well, thats a great idea and ultimatly not hard to implent :)

Yea, I mean, assault rifles are too much of an overkill, even though their ammo is limited, but if you break in to some police/military arsenal, you can find enough bullets to massacare all the other survivors and few crowds of zombies. And knowing that such loud noises will attract more zombies should keep people away from mass abuse of heavy weapons, more sticking to light firearms, melee weapons and hand-made equipment.

I got two things for the survival part... Just some littl ideas ^^
1. Shouldt be there something like Body heat? I mean I dont know the climatics there, whereever 'there' is, but mabye it would be cool if u could't sit outdoor the whole night without a campfire or something. I think thats bit unrealistic... :)
2. Mabye u should lower the effect of... äääm.. shit u're pants... :D Mabye just say 'Hygine' goes to zero and littl drop of 'Physiological Health', cause I think noone feels very good when shiting his pants...

You realy should think about the first one, the second isnt that important, that was just a littl idea ^^

Really depends on how hard you choose the zombies to be initially in the game xD and even in the case of Solanum, even the most skilled marksman can not spray randomly into a moving crowd and hit more than max 1-5% in the head.

1: Well, temperatures will influence the condition of the survivor. :)
2: We've discussed this topic before, and the negative effect is not literary shitting in the pants. Its "just" another bare you have to keep up or there'll be consequences :)

Well, burrowed a cable, so will do more work when I get home :) (and move the man to my stationary. xD)


from what you made, those giant windows look tougher than car windshields.

Well, even so, that isn't really that protect-able, especially if you meet hostile survivors :)

I knowed this video before (Tricky is so awesome...!!), but thats not realy a second floor because it's not above the first floor. But I'm pretty sure that you can do a second floor above a other, because I saw it somewhen in a shooter map. In the map there was de_dust2 from CS:S and there was this bridge and it was possible to walk above and trough it. I never saw something like this before, but I dont know the name of the map... Mabye I gonna search for it tomorrow. If i'm able to find it I will give u the link.

Yes... though some kind of balconies to shoot zombies from would be awesome to shoot zombies... oh well, WC3 engine has lmits...

Well, the zombies is bots, so yes, although the co-up part is going to be big, so might not be as fun.

In an attempt to stop the spread, the police and local militia was ordered to block all cars entering and leaving the city (needs a name). The barricades and road blocks points inward toward the city. Need skeletons of policemen desperately trying to block the thread.

Immpresive. Oh, and that's that "Customize Apocalypse"? Are you working on systems already? Can you tell the system progress, too? I mean, it is more intresting and immportant than custom resources.

Well, is playing around a system that allows each player to vote for zombie types. Customizing things like speed, immortallity, intelligence, whether or not they need a head shot to die and so forth.

Edit: by the way, needs idears for the city's name.

Wait... didn't there was like a system that you would be able to choose a country in which action takes place which would effect the item drops, like shall we say how accessible the weapons are. Wouldn't city name look kinda weird if it's not even in specific country?

tleno: map size is 5,4 of the big ones :) and actual map size is 254x254, will post the overview picture of the map as soon as possible.

Also:
I'm to lazy to make any models and it take to much time which could be spen on other things in the map, so I've decided to use imports for the rest. Don't want to use more space than necessary, so will re-warp things that use custom textures to use ingame textures and textures I've already used. This means I only have to make the remaining wall models for the houses before the real terraining can begin :)
after terraining the big work with coding will begin, and after that I think we'll be ready to launch a alfa version for testing. Also that is maybe still a bit far out in the horizon :)

i mean, you searched for a lead pipe, got a fuse and a gunpowder
then it turns into a pipebomb then you got a door alarm then it turns into a zombie--luring pipebomb. kinda like that. though you need a crafting bench inside your house

how about having a party with NPCs you could control? i mean you rescue them then you invite them then they would be yours to control?
and that npc you recruted is a police, a military man etc <- ex. jobs
then one could search the jungle, the city and one could stay in the house

the House is an important place right?
i mean, you found something useful but your inventory could only carry six items so you could place less necessary items inside your house.
though, the house would be a treasure chest for those hostile players trying to steal right?

and i think you already made some skills for each job right?
like marine-attitude <-passive ability (something like that)

how about special infecteds like left4dead?
the abomination also looks like a zombie and could prove deadly when going near it.

how about making the door in every house selectable? so you could place door alarms so when someone enters your house to steal anything in it it would alarm you.

what about some friendly fire? a traitor system? something like your ally has a pseudo-uber-super-mega rifle shotgun and his health is low you could shoot him to get his items?
but some items are droppables not all of them.

Crafting will be possible, however I never liked the idea about workbenches, work benches will give a skill bonus or something. Crafting should only need apropiate tools (items).

The item system is a multiboard with arrow key movement to navigate with. So you slots will depend on how much you can carry. But yes, obviously you can carry everything you need to survive (like a generator), so your house is gonna be like a heavy barricaded base.

I made some skills, some jobs that got certain skill bonuses, and som special abilities available to the job.

That is what mutation parameter is for in the "cusomize apocalypse".

They are, along with that, you can barricade every single door, lock it, and so forth. But good idear

Point your gun toward a friend and fire, he'll take damage like in real life. Other players must decide whether to attack the attacker then. The will be a resurrection in the map just to avoid friendly kills and early deaths due to "noobyness", but you'll be a new survivor that have to start all over. You can load you skill points (save load system), but that is that.


Overall, we're discussed most of this as tleno said. Not sure if I remember all correctly though.
