I finished and polished the new boss encounter now. Gonna add the creeps tomorrow and create the debug gear.
Then there's some bugfixes on the schedule. I think you guys can expect the release of the beta at wednesday, as this is a holiday here in germany and I got plenty of time to finalize the beta on that day. :)

Edit: Creeps completed. Some bugfixing now and creating of all the debug items and we are set.

go you good thing.

Sorry for the lack of updates during the last two days. I'm working on it again now.
I just got sidetracked, playing Telltale's "The Walking Dead" game.

If you guys haven't played this game, do it! I personally think it's the best game of the year. Don't ask, just play it! You won't make a mistake!
This was the first game ever that made me cry in my entire life.

Just don't confuse it with "The Walking Dead - Survival Instinct", which is a cheap shooter game of the worst kind.

Think I'll stick to the comics. Not even sure if I've cried over a game before. Aside from the fits of rage I have over Ignition in my childhood.

Good times.

Keep at it Zwieb!

If you like the comics, be sure to play this game! You won't regret it and it's less than 5 bucks per episode (5 episodes in total).
Like you, I also never cried over a game before. It didn't actually know that this was even possible for a game until I played this.
Also, I never played a game before that got me really emotional attached to a virtual character. Especially not a child character. Childs in games are usually so annoying, but Clementine ... heck ... I never felt this in a game before.
It's totally worth it!

How strange and yet how sweet. I'll look into it I think my brother has the first two episodes.

It's mostly Zwiebel this is pretty much his project. Shapy and Muzzel are apart of the team as well. I'm not sure what their involvement is currently with the map. I know they did a little terrain here and there for 1.2 content like the tower and such. There was also teh.fellow but I haven't heard much of him over the months I'm assuming his involvement is MIA. Then Vitsoisimba did some of the terrain for D4 but I think he's also kind of MIA. Vestra did some quest dialogs to my understanding but he's not actually a part of the map project just a very dedicated Gaias player like many of us.

Pretty much this. Muzzel wrote some nice systems for this map (the inventory system is basicly his creation; i just made some minor improvements on it over the time being) and also keeps me informed about new abuses on the game engine (like using the "eat tree" ability to change textures of units ingame - I actually planned to use this, but then realized it would increase the size of that map by alot, as attachment models that use ingame textures are only a few kb whereas textures files are huge... so no chainmail bikinis for thieves or rangers...).

zwieb you implanted from 1 to 3 creeps at each spot. what about you make some larger groups of creeps for more challenge and interest. I think it would fit to murlocs, boars, kobols but not bears since they are mostly lone animals. The idea from 1 to 3 creeps all arround the map is kind of ordinary.
Btw it would properly fit to wolves at lower levels since wolves are social animals. But..! there are also the lone wolves which have been driven out of the pack.
These kind of things make the map more interesting and appealing.

The number of creeps per pack has to be kept at a reasonable number so that it is balanced for all classes.
Classes that are weak on armor and survivability usually have a disable to take one of the creeps out of the fight temporarily (like magicians frost cage). When the creep camps get too large, there is no way magicians or thieves could beat them solo without mercs.

Also, some screenshots from my last testing game...

looking forward to it, looks like im back in germany with the release of 1.2. that means a lot of gaming time :D (and good hardware / internet)

but i dont know if i like the new icons, maybe i have to get used to them.

Currently working on the most complicated quest of the new content. When I'm done with this, the rest is a piece of cake. :)

I think you will like it. It adds a lot of atmosphere to the game, as it shows how the plague gets worse as the game progresses.

Also I took the time to finish the storyline for the game written in a file on my Gaias folder. Dungeon 4 will bring the story to the first real solution and will be the major turning point of the story, involving both Gaia and Astreena - and of course the players.

However, the story will still have progress points after that, so that the game can still be expanded southwards.

Booyah, sounds good. Looking forward to D4, really interested to see how the gods will interact with the player, on what levels etc etc. Could totally write Astreena in full bold caps like Terry Pratchett's Death.

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA IN MY OPINION.

I'm making progress with all the writing btw I've just been extremely busy. They have me on night shifts. I hate night shifts, means I'm lethargic as fuck the next day and that's no fun for anybody but hey its all coming along nicely!
