A pyremaster is a very importaint role in the orcish culture. He can summon the fire , wich he mostly uses to burn the corpses of the fallen warriors(orcish culture says hello!) beside he can speak with the ashes of the burned warrior and gain from him informations about his life dead and so.

Right... So it's a guy that reads the genetic code and there he finds the information he needs. Even if there is no brain left to suck dry it's knowledge, the ancient pyremaster is a super advanced doctor who found that information does not die when the whole body of a creature has no living tissue left.

Dude, this is more scifi than fantasy :). Eh blame Blizzard right ?

Dude, dont be ridiculous. Even in the real world psychics are able to to tell things about people using their ashes which are very strong things...
And in a fantasy world you can learn anything because you can just see the spirit of the ashes and learn things from the dead.

Plus I think you havent read the pyremaster WoWWiki article. It explains pretty fine how the whole thing works

I read it, I like to joke about it. I heard of DNA taken out of frozen bones and other fluids but out of DEAD tissue or something burnt... I don't really know if it's probable. Burnt oxygene sterilizes and the DNA or any other real information is destroyed completely.

This isnt sci-fi dude. This is Warcraft.

And I know what you're thinking about, dont even try to say that gnomes and Titans have high tech, thats lame WoW lore!

Well now that you've mentioned it, it's kind of silly that the Night Elves who lived for about some eons or thousand of years didn't manage to reach high-advance technology. The Gnomes are just inventive as the goblins, and the Titans are an extraterrestrial race, very old, they should be the most advanced technologically speaking.

Seriously dude, don't even think. Why would night elves try to get some high-advance technology? They don't need it, everything they need get from nature. They are not we, modern humans that needs to discover everything new.
Wise man once said:
"People once lived in forests. They got food from trees and water from river. If they could, they made something from things they found in forest. And the things they could'nt make, are the things they don't need."

Gnomes and Goblins are technological race, some of their technology is even better then ours. Titans - if you ever seen Ulduar, you know what technology they have.

So please, read and look at something before you post something this "#$%&.

Listen buddy don't call people names if you don't understand English. That was just my opinion not an observation I've made related to the actual lore.

And living in forests won't help you from massive invasions and won't help you live at all if you get sick (eg: medicine and stuff; don't start with witchcraft and stupidities like that). Modern technology or whatever you want to call it has it's bad and good parts so has the forest thingy.

Capisci ?

Long discussion of technology
Gnomes and Goblins are just crafty lol.

Pyremaster discussion
From what I have read, Pyremaster can raise dead peoples, because he is like a Necrolyte of the good side.

Shaman = Warlock
Pyremaster = Necrolyte

I'm thinking if they could have the same abilities (I don't mean "very" same abilities) with different pros and cons.

Not a bad idea actually, he offered help if we will ever need similar textures.

And yes Pyremaster is the "good" Necrolyte, thats why when you choose the warlock way Shamans turn into Warlocks(according to lore) and Pyremasters turn into very similar Necrolytes.

Very nice. Maybe the building textures should be more contrasted to the terrain ?

Hmm i thought about it but i 've got also this idea to use the troll berserker.

Hm... is it really fitting for a spearthrower? However, his animation could look pretty interesting...

Do you mean just the animations of troll berserker (anim, skeleton etc.) or give them a troll unit? That would be ridiculous and Alagremm knows that
But yea, the animations would be kinda cool...

We begin to return to my huntsman idea :D
What sort of unique animations does the Troll Berserker use anyway?

Well, that's unusual.. shouldn't it use something similar to the Headhunter?
It sound like an interesting animation..

Supertoinkz, I think it sounds more peaceful in truth. You just have Hunters who are members of the tribe who seek food first, but then you upgrade them into the Spearthrowers, the professional warriors with metal armor.
The point of that upgrade is to make a transition between shamanistic society of peaceful orcs and the organized Horde which is needed only for warfare! THus kinda explaining why are there Spearthrowers in WCI. If we made Hunters the upgrade it would make no sence why did a professional spearthrower with good armor suddenly become a shamanistic hunter who follows trails and akss spirits to help him with bthe hunt, especially since the society will most likely become warlock based.

Well, Hunter sounds more "deadly" than Spearthrower. I suggest we change the name of the Spearthrower to...hmmm...Impaler? Lol.

I don't think hunter really sounds that deadly, a bounty hunter (mercenary, hired professional killer) sounds that way. Hunters are trained to capture/kill animals not other people. They're not soldiers so clearly a spearman has more battle experience than a hunter.

As for other names we could use: javelineer (spears are bigger than javelins and hard to carry in large quantity, javelins are easy to handle being used especially for throwing techniques), spearer, piercer...

A javelin is a more refined weapon, crafted in a particular manner that a group of tribals like the Orcs wouldn't be working with. Does it even need to be a spear weapon? Maybe you could just make a slinger?

/@ deepblade : As for me, Hunter one who hunts, while Spearthrower one who throws. Lol.

/@ Cthulus : because the lore on the mod takes place before Wc1, and in the game Wc1, Orcs have a unit called Spearthrower (which is the counterpart of Human Archer).

The counterpart is for "strategical"(more like similarity) purpose. WarCraft I has few units and all of them are quite the same even if their names and looks are different. We could use a more advanced strategical system like the one Age of Empires or other games use. I mean a Spearthrower may not necessarily be as powerful as a human archer (spearthrowers attack slower and deal more damage while archers attack faster and deal less damage)=(a large group of spearthrowers will take down a larger group of archers if you let them attack more targets not one at a time while a large group of archers will defeat a large group of spearthrowers attacking the same target at a time).

The slinger is a funny idea.

I hope this project goes along well, and get finished unsimilar to many other big hits on the modding community. It could in truth be the last breath before the retirement of Warcraft 3.

Just a question; what kind of musical or ambience will you be using in these campaigns? Blizzard is a promising resource for background music elsewere.

What do you mean elsewhere ? Blizzard's music especially in WarCraft III, II and I fits perfectly.
