Just have a mission where you have to attack Eliver's stronghold, but because hes psychic he can detect when you're comming so your forces will always be ambushed, but the trick to winning this mission is realizing to send one patrol of troops on one road so they can be ambushed while sending the bulk of your army (after the ambush had occured) to his stronghold through a different path, just thought of this idea

What about a mission where you have to survive hordes of shadows which Lord Peradale directs at you, the only way to win is to survive until dawn, so you have to defend your base for around 20 minutes, or do you think the idea is too overdone.

What if you have a hero and a few other units running from some forest fire, or something of this nature, like you have to hurry up and beat anything in your path because otherwise you'll get roast, remember there was this mission in wos where you have to run from an avalanche, well this idea is very similar.

(Looks like San ain't coming)

Anyway, imagine this: first 3 Heroes are flown onto an island where they have to destroy an enemy base, then after the base is destroyed, a few peasants, footsman and archers are teleported to the location, then you have to establish a base and destroy the enemy bases on this island, I think this really has potential if you create it right.

Interesting ideas Siler, keep them up, and yes indeed San isn't coming

Here's my idea

You have Dioneve appear in random spots around your base and raise bands of undead to attack you, you have to catch her in the act and if you do you can fight her and win, each time you win she'll disappear and you'll have to find her again (its like a minigame) eventually after you do this 3 or more times she gets pissed goes to some location on the map and starts raising huge monsters to attack your base, once you confront her there she teleports you to a new location where you have to fight her as a boss.

Another idea:

What if Dionever raises an undead entire army and undead base against you, complete with an undead hero, and its your mission to fight through this to get to her base which should be very far from your starting location.

Ok, what if she's running from you and raises everything in her path to fight you, then eventually you confront and destroy her

Just for clarification:

Dioneve as a hero isn't too powerful...her attacks are as follows

Dark arrow - 150/250/350 damage + 4/5/6 second stun
Arcane Blight - Damages nearby hostile units for 75/150/225 damage
Disempowerment Aura - Reduces enemy's attacks by 10%/20%/30%
Nightmare - Summons 4-6 Nightmare creatures

Necromancy (regular ability) - Raises the nearest fallen unit to fight for you

As a character ye she is a very powerful necromancer and can raise an army against you, but like I mentioned she isn't all powerful and invincible, she has a vile personality, she hates the player and his comrades, but she also has no real love for her allies, she's basically a lady that's pissed at the world and believes that it owes her something, also has a victim's complex, never really understanding that her actions are what cause others to loathe her and to fight against her...this being said don't portray her as the lich king or anything as she's not that powerful also please try to understand her persona, as this is the key to bringing her character to life

I mean she's not invincible, she can't raise the fallen as much as she wants, but she's nevertheless a powerful necromancer
What I'm saying is her power isn't unlimited, she isn't the lich king or aridon from arkain,

I think that's what he wanted to stress, but she's not a weak hero, disempowerment aura reduces the attack of her enemies, and her arrow attack is very powerful, she might not have a great deal of hit points but she more than makes up for it with her abilities

I agree with Lord Aiden on his one, a good-length bio would certainly tell us a lot about the character, her background, abilities, ambitions, etc.

I'll get on that, I was busy with other things, plus making and testing abilities - an activity which is much harder and tricker than writing lore

I agree. But still you could've set some time and effort aside for the lore. If the lore element is missing it takes a lot away from the campaign even if other elements are present in rich abundance.

yup, the bios should've been created a long time ago, I just feel like they may reveal things that Blake wanted to be revealed through gameplay, so I never pushed for them

@Blake8 As far as mission, you could make mission where you have to battle Eliver's forces, for instance they are trying to get their hands on some rare minerals or something, and its your job to secure most of these minerals before they do so, so you have to scout the map, locate the minerals and extract them yourself, in certain cases there would be an enemy base (like an orc encampment or its like) on top of the minerals so you'd have to destroy it, hows that for a mission??

Re-do the five towers mission, keep the grey base on the hill and the green bases blocking the path to it, but replace the rest with just outposts, the mission will be significantly easier and much funner to player, especially if you give the player access to anti-air flying units.

More reasons to re-do it, the 2nd time should be much easier now that you grasp what you did wrong, besides you can basically use the old map just replace some things

If I ever redo that mission I will make it so that you start off on the bottom and the Grey base (the base you need to destroy) will be at the top of the map, and instead of the map being square it will be a rectangular shape, with the length being longer than the width, that was the problem with the old mission, you basically have to go from lower left to the upper right and it fucked some of the gameplay up big...so I cannot use the old map, plus the terrain of that map is terrible

A mission made by Blake awhile ago, the goal was to destroy 5 bases (five towers) the idea was very good, you had to destroy one base before going to the next, but because of the map and the way everything was put together it turned into a terrible mission. However if the same idea is re-made it could produce completely different results...The idea is excellent and deserves another chance in my humble opinion

@Lord Aiden

Because of the shape of the map, the terrain, the units available to the enemy and the way the ai would interact with all this it would take 3+ hours to beat, just think of chapter 4 (Lord of Shadows) of the second Arkain book except with a hero and with plenty of gold mines, but with the enemies turtling in an enclosed space which is very hard to get into, plus the enemy sending airships at you the entire time (infact I believe all the grey base did was produce airships, and that's why it was a joke to destroy when the green bases were gone)

One thing I really learned from that map is that the more the enemy is allowed to turtle inside an enclosed space, the harder he can be to take out

@Blake8 Hey how about faerie fire as the default? Or maybe Maelstrom?

Also I checked that forum link @Razorfang or someone had included, did you know they talk so much shit about the monster that his thread gets like 6+ new pages per day?
