I've made 4 custom races just for fun (elves, orcs, undeads and demons). I never thought I'd release any of it, but as those races are almost complete, I decided to make a campaign based on those races. I'll start by telling about heroes (since they're the key of the storyline):

Elves:
-Elven general: A melee strength hero, whose skills are based on returning damage.
-Master of the Hunt: A little like Ranger in the original game.
-Druid (or some other healing mage): As mentioned, a healer.

Orcs:
-Orc Warchief: Melee strength hero, who can rally friendly units to attack faster.
-High Shaman: An intelligence hero with lightning based spells.
-Lava Dragon: Melee hero with fire spells and fire breath, which allows him to attack units in a line.

Undeads:
-Necromancer: Intelligence hero, who can raise skeletons. They won't disappear before killed, but there's a limit depending on necromancer's level.
-Vampire Lord: Well... a vampire. Has vampiric attack, and is stronger at night.
-Lich King: Abilities are pretty much mixed from death knight and lich.

Demons:
-Warlock: Int hero with demonic spells.
-Succubus: a more demonic version of dark ranger (explained later).
-Some melee hero, not decided yet.

My thoughts about storyline:
-I'm going to make 4 campaigns, one for each race (if I have time)
-Storyline could start after the original campaingn ends, after Arthas becomes lich king.
-Demons' main goal is to kill the Lich King (Arthas), they're led by Kil'jaeden
-Sylvanas joins demons (due to her hatred to Arthas) and becomes a succubus
-Kael (warlock) want's to avenge Illidan's death, and therefore joins demons as well
-At some point of the orc campaign, orcs have to escape to underground, where they find a dragon kingdom. After doing them some kind of favor, the Lava dragon joins orcs and orcs gain access to Dragon Riders

That's all I've thought about, but I still need to fill gaps (almost the whole story).
-What's the order of the campaigns?
-What enemies other than demons do races have? (since most of them were allied after the tft campaign)
-What are the roles of the heroes (listed above) in the storyline?

All ideas are welcome!

I added some bonus heroes. For the Orcs, remove the Lava Dragon. And make Sylvanas not a demon also Kael not a demon. Maybe make Mannoroth reborned and he is part of the Demons and they also revived Grom but a more powerful Grom.
Maybe the story goes like this:

Name: Unveiling
Story:
- The Elves have kept hiding on the Crystalheart Forest for all the years to prevent from being harmed in the ongoing wars. But their leader, Kath'ranis Leafson, has been killed when out looking for food for the village by the group of Kazragore Brutalfang, a Horde Captain because of a mistake. This made the Elves think of not hiding anymore. They wanted war and blood to avenge the death of Kath'ranis Leafson. The general, Eldin Mirkblood, has ordered the Crystalheart army to lay an attack on an encampment of the Orcs with Kazragore's younger brother there. This has made war with the two.

Name: Woodlands Bloodshed
Story:
- Warchief Thrall ordered Blademaster Yozhuru and Captain Eyegrim Frostsong to go to the Crystalheart Forest to search for some help with the Forest Trolls, which are known by Rokhan. But instead of that, Captain Kazragore Brutalfang has accidentally killed the leader of the elves. This made war to the two factions and making the help of the Forest Trolls gone.

Name: Battle of Legions
Story:
- The Lich King has been reborned. But Kil'jaeden will do nothing to stop. The story is basically illustrating the war of the Scourge and the Burning Legion.

Name: Rise of the Burning Legion
Story:
- The Burning Legion as arrived and is ready to bring havoc into the world. They have revived Mannoroth and Grom Hellscream to aide them in battle. It just shows the battle with them and the Scourge.

Burning Legion Campaign - Footsteps of Doom
Melee Hero: Doom Lord (Doomguard)

After the defeat of Illidan Stormrage and the merging of Arthas Menethil and Ner'zhul, Azeroth seems to have went into a state of harsh peace, with very little bloodshed comparing to the terror brought by the Third War. While the realm is trying to regain its former strength, the Legion is ready to make its moves again.

Highlord Kazzak(Doom Lord), received a strange transmission from the Twisting Nether via a device he found during a raid on Nethergarde Keep in Blasted Land. Kazzak soon found out that the device is built by none other than Sargaeras(as Medivh) himself, as something to store his energies in that can open a portal to Twisting Nether.

Kazzak then began a campaign to gather all the fel energies he need, battling the human and orcs, even the dark shadows lurking in Karazhan. At last, with the help of the Eredar, Prince Maldazzar, Kazzak successfully open a large portal atop Medivh's Tower, Karazhan, ready to bring doom upon the world of Azeroth once more.

Orcs Campaign - Bonded By Blood

After Orgrimmar is completed and secured, Thrall sent out emissaries to different leaders on Kalimdor, establishing offcial realationship with the Tauren and the Trolls. While having a meeting in Orgrimmar, an Undead came to visit under the banner of the Banshee Queen.

Thrall listens to the so-called "Forsaken"'s tale about Sylranas Windrunner, the supposed ruler of these Forsaken that broke away from the Lich King. Thrall does not trust them, and have the undead sent away. Later, Arggame Rockheart was sent to Azeroth in order to contact the remaining Frostwold orcs. Arggame's party was raided by humans, and saved by Forsaken outriders that know their arrival. Arggame contacted the warchief about the conflicts in Azeroth, the warchief aggred to send a sizeable army across the sea.

With the help of the Forsaken, Arggame is able to defeat the humans and rescued the Frostwolfs. Even though the war was won, Arggama was killed in battle by the humans. After the event, Thrall decided to let the Forsaken joined the newly formd Horde, honoring this as the "Rockheart Treaty".

Undead Campaign - War of Plaguelands

The campaign tells the story of Sylranas Windrunner invading Plaguelands, in the end earning herself a student, Nathanos Blightcaller who was once part of the human resistance force, and the Bulwark.

Elves Campaign - Descent into Madness

After the defeat at Icecrown, Illidan have been acting strange lately, always seeing visions of his fight with Arthas Menethil. Kael decided that its no longer wise to follow him, and tried to make his own force. He invaded Tempest Keep of the Naaru and made contact with the Legion, as Kil'jaden meet with him, the demon told him about the plan to let Kazzak's force assault Azeroth out of surprise, while Kael will summon the demon via the sunwell.

Kael accepts the deal, and made his way back to Quel'thalas where he fights the remnants of Undead Scourge. Kael revives the sunwell and tries to summon the demon Kil'jaden, while the legion force swarms in from the portals he created. He succeed, the demon Kil'jaden manifest his physical form on Azeroth, killing the elves and dragons that were trying to stop Kael.

After Illadin had been defeated by Arthas, he was imprisoned in Icecrown, and Lady Vash was able to escape with a few of the remaining forces from Northrend. Kiljaden, not yet wishing to see a valuable pawn go to waste, began a new assault plan on Azeroth, in order to free Illadin. To do this, demons are summoned to conquer the dark portal in Outland, which is currently held by demonic Orcs, left over from the 2nd war. After obtaining the dark portal, Kiljaden is able to send through lesser demons with the aid of a demonic cult left over from the 3rd war (maybe have some levels on these guys trying to establish a portal). With the portal to Azeroth secured, and augmented by the remains of the dark portal, part of the demonic legion is able to enter Azeroth. After entering, the demons make their way to Northrend, and slowly make their way to Icecrown glacier. Upon reaching Icecrown glacier, Illadin's gatekeeper warn Arthas that the legion has come, and the demons quickly free Illadin and make their way out of Northrend

The Orcs, having lost their control over the dark portal in Azeroth to the cultists, begin to make preparations for war, and making troops mobile to keep the newly constructed Orgrimmar city from being attacked. After realizing the true intent of the Cultists, the Orcs attack the Dark portal, and successfully stop the cultists from summoning any more demons. The Orcs realize that their old enemy, the legion, is back on Azeroth, and that it is their time to strike. The Orcs follow the demons north, but are always a step behind and are never able to reach the legion. By the time the Orcs have reached the banks of Northrend, the demons have already freed Illadin, and are preparing to head back to Outland to regroup their forces. When the demons are confronted by the Orcs, the demons begin to erect a portal to leave Azeroth, and send out forces to attack the horde outposts. During this seige, a small Orc troop head west to the Dragonblight which under the cover of night to avoid the demons. In dragonblight, they find the red dragon's cave, which contains one of Alextraza's more powerful daughters. (The Orcs find some way to settle/conquer the dragons for the dragonrider thing). After several days of seige, the Orc dragonriders arive with their new allies and the fight to have the Orcs begin their assault on the demonic portal begins. Arthas arrives with the nerubians and his scourge to deal with the demonic army, making the demons fight a 2-front battle, in which Illadin is finally able to flee through the portal when it is finished closing it behind him, leaving a small army of demons trapped without a portal. After the battle, Arthas begins to attack the Orcs for having entered his domain, but the Orcs are defended by the red dragonflight.

While the demons and Orcs were in Northrend, the scourge armies that were in the lost elven lands retreated to help their master. Sylvanis responded to this by immediately leading an army to the north to reclaim her lost land. Upon arriving, the banshee queen finds that trolls have been fighting off the undead, and immediately, without consul, she begins to slaughter as many trolls as she can find. With her own personal army, Sylvanis frees scourge to bolster her forces as she liberates lost elven outposts and towns from the trolls. The forsaken respond to this harshly, realizing that Sylvanis is doing this more for her own profit than that of the undead. They quickly rally together and go into the elven lands to stop her rampage, and finally track her down. Upon finding her, they confront Sylvanis in front of a large troll city, which was where she stopped. During their conversation, the doors to the city open slowly, and a group of troll warriors step out, declaring the land to be Zul'Amani territory. There ensues a great battle, which pushes the forsaken army north, and into the plaguelands, where they encounter the power of Arthas' scourge, even when weakened. Sylvanis gets news of the battle in northrend, and how the Orc dragonriders were able to keep Arthas back from the Orc army. Sylvanis quickly urges the forsaken with her to take out their old enemy while they might still find an advantage. The undead sail north, with ships stolen from forsaken harbors, and reach the dragonblight. There, they find a red dragon, weakened by age, and only seeing the forsaken as undead, tries to attack Sylvanis claiming her scourge. The forsaken are barely able to kill the dragon, but with several necromancers they are able to create an emberwyrm to fight for them. The remaining Forsaken forces are too weak even with the wyrm to fight off other dragons, so they immediately seek out Arthas. Arthas, who is still recuperating from the wounds he sustained from the Orc dragonriders, has not moved his camp, and instead has sent his soldiers back to their normal positions in places such as the plaguelands and icecrown glacier, feeling safe that the Orcs left Northrend. When he is ambushed by Sylvanis' small troop, his remaining forces begin to skirmish with the forsaken. When Sylvanis calls the emberwyrm, it burns down several of the scourge, but is quickly stopped by Arthas, who is able to control it, breaking the magic that the forsaken necromancers had placed on it. As Arthas turns to leave Sylvanis shoots him in the shoulder, wounding him gravely, campaign ends with Sylvanis and forsaken killing the wyrm.

(I am going to assume you mean high/blood elves, not night elves, in which case I would recommend that you make the druid into a priest of some kind)
The elves who remained in Azeroth, abandoned by their leader, Kael, sought to reclaim some of their city of Quel'Danas, which had been broken into by Arthas for the sunwell. The elves began by going around the countryside, collecting able bodied elves to fight for them. Along the way they encountered several lower ranking undead generals, which they either were able to evade, or conquer them with enough men. When the elves felt that they had enough of a force to enter their beloved city, they crossed the channel which separated the island, while on the way fighting murlocs, and naga. When they actualy reached the city, they began with conquering the forge, and making new weapons, with these they were able to explore the other districts with ease. When they reached the magic sanctum, the elves came upon a group of mages and priests who were trapped inside, living off of conjured food and water. As the elves progressed through the ruins of their city, they noticed that the scourge now had more reinforcements, and more generals. There were four main generals which had been reassigned to the city (undead), a lich, a vampire guy, a nerubian, and a deathnight (2.0, as opposed to the demonic ones) which were busy corrupting the city anew, preparing for it to be the base of operations for invading the eastern kindoms. After clearing out most of the city, the only thing stopping the elves from reclaiming Quel'Danas were these 4 elites. The heroes split up, one per each (excluding the deathknight), as they were creating a shield that protected the deathknight while he corrupted the land. After successfully removing the shield from the deathknight, the elven army moved in to end the source of the ever increasing corruption. As the heroes moved in to attack, an undead army came in from behind them to protect the deathknight, the elves were forced to send the army to deal with the undead, and have the heroes defeat the deathknight themselves.(ending battle optional if you want a different type of thing)

You may want to add some stuff to the demon's campaign, I realize its pretty weak, but its also open ended too :)
