How I do draw hair? D:
Ohai - so I herd u lyek hair?
This time I'll go for hair only since Elenai somehow passively asked me to do it and hair is awesome anyways.
Ok let's go:
After having drawn the face groundings
we draw a circle-like line around them to define the outer border of the hair:
Now we're going for the actual face consisting of a small dot which serves us as the mouth, another small do being the nose and the eyes.
After having divided the face into the usual six parts, we put in the eyes, place the mouth a bit left aside from the middle line and last the nose above.
Next point is to define the other borders.
I decided to draw half the hair being thrown behind the shoulder, so we draw two lines (my fingers point at them) to set them as a frontier.
Now a little trick - as we're lazy today, we don't want to draw the hairline.
To do this, we simply draw the front hair over it.
Mostly, it's just long, partly curved lines which end when the eyes start.
It now looks like
Next, we make the lines longer going upwards to make it look more smooth.
The part of the hair which should be going back over her shoulder is next to be done.
Means, we draw a few more lines which go into a U-turn at a certain spot and heading back into the former direction.
Alright, we're going for the other side of her hair which will be long and even.
At first, two long lines to put a border and at the end a curve have to be drawn.
Inside the two lines, we add more lines to actually increase the amount of hair ^^
To give a brief overview, the picture looks like this now:
Now as drawing mangacharacters is all about lines (as you might have noticed), we're drawing even lines going from an 'end' to a randomly chosen point somewhere near the starting point.
After doing this a couple of times, we're finished with the front hair.
It's hard to descibe this step so a picture should clear it up.
Heading back to the right sides' hair, we're doing the same thing we were doint to the front hair (more lines to split up the thick hair).
Yay, we're almost done - another shot showing the whole piece of work:
Now, we have to take a rubber and erase the lines which define the head, as well as the seperationlines in her face.
Yes, we first have to erase them and redraw the now white spots.
It might look like that:
Et voilà, we're done D:
