I don't think it is. At all.
Do you even know what this bill will do? It will protect all copyrighted content that belongs to America from the rest of the world.

Have a video containing American footage? GONE!
Looking up games containing American footage? GONE!
Using an avatar on a website with copyrighted content from America? GONE!

They are just using piracy as a trojan horse to "attempt" to make their arguments look better, but it's really got nothing to do with piracy at all - just fucking everyone over.
That's just what I think anyway.

Because as much as we like getting some things for free, this is morally not right, and things are getting to their places if such thing is done. I don't like it either but it is generally correct action.

Wouldn't that make radio listening immoral to? You don't pay for the service (well public radio stations are payed service, but they mostly handle news or make their own shows).

SOPA will most likely not pass because of.
1. White house is against it
2. If it does Pass huge protests etc will come up, Anonymous is already frying their servers
If it passes and nothing occurs then the American people are all brainwashed idiots that has no ''freedom''

^ Pass or not pass the first victim is Megaupload. I saw on the news they were arresting the owner. I liked using it as it WAS the fastest dl speed from these and there is never (wait 15 minutes) because you dled several. Such sites that make you wait 15-30mins suck hard. I even dled MLP when the site was still alive from Megaupload services, I actually even had files on it, personal files related to a game, good I keep them on other places.

That was FBI, and it was not SOPA related, atleast from my sources, also please stop talking about MLP since i can't find anything more annoying.

I very much doubt this would pass. The internet is a booming industry in itself. It is a means of communicating globally and also making a living. By letting this pass, the millions of people who make their living on the internet (bloggers, people who sell things on e-Bay for a living, musicians who sell their own stuff on the internet) and big businesses who use the internet (being a globally accessible thing) will lose billions in advertising due to lack of traffic on key websites such as YouTube and Facebook. If SOPA was passed, entrepreneurs and bloggers, etc. will be unemployed all over the world and the economy will be affected severely (I suspect very severe considering the World Bank's previous announcement of an upcoming 'recession').

So no, I don't believe some bible-bashing, close-minded fools plan to destroy piracy will be passed. It has GLOBAL and ECONOMICAL ramifications.

And, to add, the guy behind TVShack was also arrested. But this was months before.

I don't know if this is accurate since I don't know much about the source, but here it is:

Edit: So should this discussion continue on the other projects like ACTA and that "privacyruiningpornprotection"?
