Has anyone figured out any way to do water pathing like in warcraft III? this is a BIG problem, as i need to use water pathing =\

I have exactly the same issue. You see my Echo Isles map? Whether shallow water or not, they can walk everywhere X( That's what I mean that while GE has new useful features the way many things are made just dont make sense, ridiculously

I suggest using pathing blockers, which also means I have to do the same. Speaking of which, what is ground blocker and how do I see the range of the ground blocker .. In war3 you knew it was a box and the area was a circle surrounding the box. Nowyou put it in water and you dont see where you put it OO

In SC2, you can turn off pathibility via the pathing modification tools (below points, terrrain and units in the menu list).

I would imagine making the terrain unwalkable under the water would be a start for your custom map.

As for ships, you just need to make it unwalkable so that un its can not walk or teleport into the ocean but you can have ships walking on it.

This is all a Pathing Thing... Here is how to do it
1. Data - Lower Unit height and make it match the 'flat' water :p
2. Terrain Pathing - path where you dont want ground units to be - Deep Water
3. Terrain Pathing - place the circular things on the coast. ( I hope blizzard makes this similar to the other pathing instead of a sphere )
4. Test if not the way you want it redo steps

IF you want units to build docks, I would recommend making an ability like the Ravens Seeker Missile so that they don't actually have to go on the water, as that would screw stuff up. Also, make it so that transport ships can unload/load troops from a slight distance away, so they can drop stuff off on cliffs - maybe make them like Colossi, so they can see over cliffs and the like. Just use triggers to ensure units cant build harbors on land or unload troops in the ocean.

Blizzard could've at least made units sink and float.

I wonder what happens if you want to play underwater. So your unit say loses flying height but oh wait he just enters under a flat plate of water. below is just air, no water lol.

Ok I did it by adding the Red (no pathing) thing on all places I didnt want units to go. That works but is pain the butt to do it, takes time.
