Hi,

I am fairly new to warcraft 3 modding, I've managed to replace units in the world editor but not the the original campaign. I've looked in the mpq files and tried renaming and replacing the footman but all that appears is a blob shadow.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yeah, i tried the object window but it only replaces that maps instance of the Footman,
Like Cokemonkey said, I want to replace the footman model in general, so it affects the entire game.

Thanks, So if the files name is FootmanRevised_squished.mdx, i could rename it to Footman.mdx and place it into \Units\Human\Footman\Footman.mdx ?

Unfortunately the models i have, don't list the paths for the textures.

I have the .blp in the same folder (as the original model had them) the the model viewer shows the footman textured.
Ingame though it shows only shadows.

They appear correctly in the viewer, but not ingame.

The mdl says.

Textures 8 {
Bitmap {
Image "HumanMaleBody.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "HumanMaleHair.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "HumanMaleCape.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "Sword_1H_Long_B_02.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "Shoulder_Plate_B_01Cape.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "Shoulder_Plate_B_01Cape.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "Helm_Plate_B_01Stormwind_HuMCape.blp",
}
Bitmap {
Image "Shield_Crest_B_01Cape.blp",
}
}

Fixed! :D, I think by putting the .blp into the Warcraft 3 folder (with the exe) fixed the issue. Thanks Adiktuz you've been a huge help :).
