Blizzard trees are taboo.
Too true. Although the dead ones are fine.

Much too plain. Don't be scared to use a lot of doodads. Even though it's a playable map, you are going to need to make it look nice.

Use better tile variation. It will cut down on the amount of doodads needed.
 
Well, the trees don't fit and the tile variation is bad and in the camp terrible, and the crystals give you something to look at pwettily through in the .. WE, not the game, so they don't fit. What counts are game angle screens. And you're lacking lots and lots and lots of doodads, ie. small grasses, normal grasses on the road etc and big ones near the trees and unused / secret places.
