Deserted; Huge Survival Game

Deserted (temporary title)

gameplay:
Setting: a chain of islands in an unknown place

Time: early medieval ages

Plot summary: (Temporary) a shipwreck after a storm leaves one survivor deserted on an unknown island populated by unknown species that have been isolated from the world, the deserted survivor will embark on his mission of going back home which will take him through multiple islands before he is rescued by a boat passing by the last island.

Players: 1

Game type: survival

About the game and us:
The game idea had been in my head for a long time ago, I met 6 people who where capable of helping me to make this idea real. and slowly we invited more people and now we have 18 team members.
The project development is going to start on june
The game might be changed from being a warcraft map into a unity project.

Yes, but it isn't my personal. well it going to be used for something else now, so its temporary number.

Dont expect to get any help as long as you dont have anything to show. And since you are looking for help in all positions it looks like you have nothing done yet.

I'm not expecting anything, I'm offering a change for people to help , and it doesn't matter since we almost have everyone we need.

You should provide some info otherwise why should anyone join unless your recruiting secret agents for an agency.
The information is private for many reason, but mainly is that our theme is temporary, there is a good change that we are going to change a lot of the designs and ideas.

Why do you need many of these positions? Advertising manager, budget supporter, sound engineer.. I mean, even DotA, TKoK, and the other big projects don't have these positions.

I don't think you'll find near the amount of people you need if you want 3-4 people in ALL these positions. Plus many of them can be put into one category.. sound engineer/music creator for example.

I do want to make maps, but tbh I'd want information on what I'm signing up for.
a RPG about a castaway on an island of monsters.
This isn't near enough imo. What will make your game unique/special? How will the gameplay be? It doesn't matter if the theme changes. We would understand if the theme changes later - i'm sure all mapmakers have changed an idea at some time - but something's better than nothing.

Since you reject the opinions and hints provided here, maybe you will instead acknowledge the forum rules?

This forum has a sticky stating the requirements for each thread:

Map name
People you are looking for
Name of the creator(s)
Summary of the map gameplay/objectives
Map features

You have stated what positions are needed, not why though. Everything else is missing. Even if there are things that still change, you are expected to tell your initial plan. And why are you even officially recruiting and for so many specific positions when you are unsure what to do?

I also want to raise the question "What will you do?" once again because you search for so many fields and even for 3-4 users each and I do not rarely face users that want to pass most of the tedious work onto others whereas their input is limited to specify the goal. That's not how it works. I would not even be so sure if the involvement of money is permitted, for the simple reason that the process takes place on the back of wc3, which most likely does not belong to you nor are maps up for monetarization.

It's gonna be so huge that all members had to sign NDAs and work in a secluded desert underground laboratory. It will even make ITER and CERN teams look in awe and change the world we know ... forever!

The reason why companies advertise jobs is because they are looking for new employees. However they dont want any employees but people who are motivated and enducated/experienced in the field they are going to work on.
Now lets consider a company advertises a job but cant tell what the candidates are going to work on, the obvious result is this:
1. Group:
People who are frustrated and apply for everything or dont give a shit what they are going to do.
(These people will apply for the job)
2. Group:
Skilled candidates which are highly motivated to do the advertised job
(Wont apply)

Do you understand the analogy?

Most of our team isn't familiar with WC3 (Almost 75%) so we are thinking of changing from a warcraft 3 revolutionary map into making our on game (using unity 3d since almost 90% of our team is familiar with it), its just an opinion by me althought many have agreed to it. well currently have 17 team members and if we mange to get to +21 we are probably going to make a unity 3d game.

I can guarantee that our team is highly motivated, we would't accept anyone who is "not very motivated". and when you agree to work with us we don't necessarily tell you everything. we will only tell you the details you need until the beta version(that isn't available to public, only for beta testers). if you're a modeler for characters you will learn about all the creatures and characters in the game. we avoid telling everything because the amount of work to do is intimidating. we are going to set a short goals for each month where we prepare a non public beta version. the artist and coder wouldn't be told anything more than the goal. while the designers, advertisement manger and producers will know everything (i think I talked a little to much about our strategy).

I would like to know how you managed to convince 6 people to help you with a specification description consisting of 12 words. Giving out a little more detail might help entice people to join your project.

Well, depending in the spot your intreated in information is given out to you, for example coders have to know almost everything, designers too, while 2D artist and 3D modelers don't need to know much.
when someone is willing to join he is asked many question and he will be accepted (not always) and told information according to whats his spot and how long he is gonna be with the team.

I PMed +35 people asking them to join, many explained why they can't join while others accepted.
Also I have good connection with 6 friends who joined who also have connections.

He already told us the secret. Penguins with boobs... who can resist that :>

I'm just envious, seriously. This is going to be huge. And I see why you need to keep everyone short of intel here; seriously, if you'd let everyone know, it would be very likely they would steal your idea! I mean... it's just brilliant!

Also, I don't get all the criticism here - Motivating members that work for free never was an issue in gaming industry, especially not for indie games. Everyone just lusts for unusual game ideas like this!
And if one seriously needs to know what he is working on, then he just got to grow up. Nobody knows what you're working on nowadays. When I go to work every morning, I'm always thinking "well... I'm gonna click here and there and then ... this dialog shows up and I click it. What does 'radioactive gas' mean? Never mind, just release it." and then I go home, knowing what I did served a greater goal my lowlife brain could not handle anyways.
