The war has been declared. Prepare your army and crush your opponents in epic battles. No matter if you are an insidious Naga or an evil Demon, you won't have any chance of peace, just death or luck to survive.


What's Power of Corruption?
Power of Corruption is an altered melee style map which features two customized races: The Naga and the Demons. This project, started in 2006, was previously known as Naga Wars and in that time the Naga race was the only one playable. Critics and suggestions were given and the result was a new whole race: the Demons. this race was developed from scratch in order to put more innovation, replayability and challenge to the Naga which are overpowered in comparison with the standard races in Warcraft III. Time has passed and the map has been improved in many ways, now it's 100% made in vJASS and it features innovative and nice spells, abilities and characteristics which, hopefully, will give to the melee style game a new fresh air.

Game Features.
Devotion.png
A new resource: Devotion points.
It can be obtained when you kill enemies from normal players (creeping doesn't give devotion points) This resource can be exchanged by gold or lumber, or saved to get a semihero unit at your command.
TransportUnits.png
Transport units.
This feature has been available through neutral buildings, but now these units will be trained by the player. They not only serve as transport, they can improve a lot the micro management because they can be used to protect vulnerable units taking in advantage its high resistance against attacks.
ItemForgers.png
Item Forgers.
These special units will be trained by players. They will have the ability to cast portable shops with items designed to improve temporary the hero units, or units in an area of effect. These units can see hidden or invisible units so they are a key element in your strategy.
SemiHeroes.png
Semi Hero Units.
These special units are the gift that you obtain from you god for having a good and efficient army. They are called semiheroes for its skills (strength + 4 useful abilities) and they are summoned when you reach 1000 devotion points. The Naga obtain a Naga Royal Guard and the Demons obtain a Doom Guard.

Each race will have a unique passive ability for all the organic units which gives to them an advantage in endurance in the game.

From now on, Power of Corruption won't be only in one map terrain, it will come in several terrains that I will credit when the data is implemented on them. Meanwhile, we'll start with the basic but always classic first terrain :thumbs_up:

The ruins of an ancient temple of forbidden tributes was found by the Naga. They were attracted to this abandoned place by the dark magic emanating from this mysterious place. But they were not alone, the Demons, in their seek of power to spread the death and evil in the known world, have traveled to this place to find and control this unknown power. Now the quest is a challenge with no more option but fight, who will the victorious? the outcome is up to you.

  • Added the heal cargo ability to Transport turtle and Demon Zeppelin. This ability regenerates hitpoints in units transported in those cargo unit types. With this we'll give to this ships a more valuable usage.
  • This version comes with a new melee map: Roads Untraveled by Sonofjay

Can someone make a screenshots for all this new models ? I want to see them, but I dont have wc3 installed on my comp at the moment...
As soon as I can I 'll do it :)

I already clicked the smash ability then it has a few delay though so the siren casts sonic then after he jumps, he has no attack!

also another bug, I just found out all of my special units(The jumpers, including the naga warrior hero in it due to his tsunami attack)is in the tavern in middle of the map. It happens sometime in the game when they either jumped, or used an ability the moves them around (Like the mighty smash and tsunami attack skill something)

I was wondering if you could add the other races perhaps? Im pretty much sure you can add only 2 races though but still it's hard to balance them with the demons and Naga
I'm checking the issue and trying to emulate the bug... I hope to get this solved soon :)

Played the old version of the map back then with a friend, and I must say, as a fan of melee and altered melee, this map has to be one of the best out there.
I'm glad that you've decided to update this map.

Also, I've got set of hefty melee map templates available for usage.
Since this project is mainly using Sunken Ruins tileset, here's a map from me and Misha.

Boss, please make the kills -> Kills.
The uncapitalized kills irritates me.

Also, were looking for people who can make new maps for PoC!
If approved, he would send you a template map to terrain on.

Just a few suggestions:
  • Reduce the Burning Beast's selection circle size
  • Put the structure icons at the same places as the default races, an example would be the demon's food building, usually the icon's placed at 0,1
Also hint hint, this is very close to a Director's Cut, you do the two things above and I'll consider it with a higher chance. :p

Power of Corruption Version 2.3a is now Live!!!

This version fixes some small bugs and command card improvements.

  • Fixed a typo in players' multiboard (kills => Kills)
  • Fixed a bug where succubus keep jumping on target units when they're "smart" ordered.
  • Selection circle in Burning Beast reduced from 2.5 to 2

Yay! Update!

Also, I have a small suggestion boss.
Its irritating when the succubus gets stucked between trees due to her jumping ability.
Maybe add an effect that if shes trapped, she would jump out?

Or, better yet - make her unable to jump to unpathable areas.

Well, jump ability is one of the most "controversial" abilities in this game. I've tried to make it as fluent as possible in micro management, but wc3 game engine limit me the situation. Just order repeteadly to the succubus to move or attack to another location and she'll do the rest :grin:

Anyways, I'll investigate and do more testings to improve the jump system.

Also, do you plan on adding anymore new stuff? Like units, since I got some ideas for this awesome map.
Well, I'm thinking in adding something like a spy mode, an idea from Misha. The idea is to make a spy unit (I chose a Goblin) which will go into an enemy building and if succeed infiltrating there, it will give you tech and new units available. I need to think more the process and the idea. If you have something, go ahead :)

That is why I only use one name on forums, so I always know that if a friend of mine visits this forum, I know that he know me on that forum.

I had an idea for the demons on a mechanical unit, which was weak attack, but its main purpose is to harvest resources. Its very slow at harvesting and moving but gets large amounts of resources in the process.

It can also mount the Demon Slaves to increase resource gathering, but not speed.

I can be hired for writing descriptions, scripts, or tooltips. Just wanted to be part of this awesome map. My mother tongue is not english, but I can prove to you I can fix all typo or grammatical errors I see.

Great map btw, and I can't wait for more battles between nagas and demons on different maps!

Suggestion - if it's already vacation time (dozens of free time) and you have already done the most major of updates in the two races, could you try adding two new races: the Human Survivors/Fallen Alliance/Fallen Lordaeron, and The Forsaken? It would be a great thing to add these new races I'm thinking about, but these are only suggestions, and can always be discarded. It'll be okay for me. :thumbs_up:

Discard my previous suggestion. How about races that are more Power-of-Corruption-like? I was thinking some Human PoC version, like the Barbarians, then the Demons are the Orcs Poc Version, the Naga are the Night Elves PoC version, and the Undead get the Magi as their PoC version. Barbarians, in conquest of power and territory, Magi (like Ogres+Titans) in their search of magic and power/dominion as well.

Again, just suggestions. You can discard them or keep them in thought.

Man you're flowing with ideas :)

In order to add races I'd need a good techtree designed to be balanced to the current races. That will imply to add features to the current races which will give countering to the new ones... so many work...

Played the maps. Here be things:
- Naga AI appears to be borked. It will train two basic melee units, and a Hero, upgrade its hall to Tier 2, build a Shrine, then sit there the rest of the match while its workers collect resources. It appears to be waiting for something that doesn't exist yet.
- The game crashed without an error report (It just closed out. No prompts, nothing). The remaining AI on the map at the time were both Demon, which seemed to function properly.

Other than those two issues, this is a very well-built system. Excellent work!

Tried again and managed to get a replay, Map Path is Maps/FrozenThrone/Scenario.

I like the idea/concept of this mod, which is why I have made an account to tell you that upon opening the map, starting a game as the demons, and clicking on the build icon on one of the demon slaves, it crashed.
Would you like the report? I've been looking for a burning legion race mod for a while, so I would REALLY like to see/have this fixed.
I am on an intel lion if that matters.

Yes to both. Its lion unfortunately. I was able to patch it before upgrading but now that its upgraded I'm afraid that its staying "upgraded".
