Post Your Speedtest Results!

It is fiber.
Optical Fiber doesn't give you blazing-fast speeds, it's your provider that's responsible for them.
Optical Fiber only provides fast-transmission for the connection, thus allowing you to go beyond 20Mbps or so. (Transmission speeds have an affect on it)

There are 18000Km of Optical Fiber across the country and the coastline is only 220Km long (Most of the major cities are on the coast)

It allows one to go way past 20Mb, its been discussed if there even is a limit. My reason for saying what I did is that if thats your speed then your getting cheated so much I can hardly fathom it (unless your paying next to nothing for it). I am getting way better speed with old copper wires and doesn't pay much for it.

Well, at least my connection's stable :/

lol you use fiber and get a bad connection and I use a USB internet connection because I can't get lanline at all and yet I still get a somewhat better connection.

but the only thing that is stable about my connection is the upload speed :L.

I'm not getting cheated, it's the entire nation. I'm in a developing country ;_;
These providers shouldn't have invested in fiber. They don't give anyone in the nation more than 8Mbps (I'm pretty confident there are private connections with much faster connections though)
And you aren't going to believe how much I pay.
The base price $16, but there's a 5GB quota and my downloads always tend to go beyond 20GB a month, so I have to pay $8.5 per extra GB D:

16$ + $8.5 * 15 = $143.5

At least $140 a month D:
And the 10 GB quota makes no difference because the base price is considerably higher D:

My situation used to be:
$49.99 /m
0.85 Mb/s Download
0.35 Mb/s Upload
5 Gigabyte download cap
$10 - $15 Dollars per gigabyte overage.
My monthly gigabyte overage: 25

Maths: $50 + (15 * 25) = $425

And that does not include my brother, who uses almost as much internet as I do, or my parents, one of which uses quite a bit.

My Current Setup:
$30 /m
0.03 - 2.15 Mb/s (Avg. 0.50) Download
0.35 Mb/s Upload
Unlimited Download Cap
Extremely Unreliable.
Percentage of time I can't load my web-browser: 35%
Percentage of life spent in frustration over sucky internet: 15%
Awesome savings: WORTH IT.
Having router be phone w/ same unlimited data plan: TOTAL WIN.

Too bad my internet sucks so much though.

this is pretty much the best connection speed I got, but the time is very inconvenient.
New test at 3:50 am :p.

my connection cost about 50$ for 10GB per month although the max usage that can be bought prepayed is 14GB and if I remember right it cost about 70$. Maybe I should actually get a job so I can pay for my own internet connection and maybe see if I can get a better connection (although it would probably be quiet more expensive) as my father actually didn;t research much on connection speed but instead usage to price comparence.

Sidenote: When you say Kennedy, you remind me of Kentucky, and thus, I get hungry. fffuuu

On-topic
Sadly, in terms of speed, Ogero is the best :/ (Not with pings though)
I got 39ms while at my friend's dad's "Second Cup" cafe. On RGC, I have 55ms =p
In any other case, I'd have 140ms - 210ms :c

My phone gives me [1Mbps, 21Mbps]
It really depends on my location.
The pings are usually 55ms - 110ms
But in areas like ... Joe's village (;D), I'd have 550ms (fail xD)

I convinced my dad to CONSIDER changing our internet plan... and choosing another provider luckily :p

Daelin and Hashjie have nice, respectable connections. I am rather jelly.

My upload speed is just terrible, and the fact that I'm sharing this connection with my bro, ma and pa is horrible.

Really when my bro starts downloading movies, I can sit back and wait untill my streamed tv series are done buffering after 2 hours -,-.
Damn I wish I can take all the dl speed from a campus ^.^

Thats where you reroute control of your brothers pc and make it look like he is still downloading while in fact he is not and your enjoying a good show.

So my mom took over our modem today and told me to use her 4G mobile instead.

Here is the result:
4G Mobile Broadband
1787413094.png

My old Wired Connection
1653137050.png

I'm surprised the result got that good even thou I live in a small town, and the ping is really good for mobile.
(some friends told me they are lucky to get 120-150 ping with mobile internet, but they use 3G)

Pros
-4/5 in connection (a 3G at the same spot gave 2/5)
-Good ping for a mobile
Cons
-It did not work in my USB 3.0 slot
-It gets very hot in a few minutes
-They promised 100 mbps download (not that I believed them one bit) :ogre_hurrhurr:

EDIT: It is stable enough to play online games, just a certain amount of delay.
