Well I thought this would be a fun thread, where we can go look at peoples UI's and get inspiration etc.

I can start with mine, early WIP atm.
And ye I have gotten inspiration from some posted in other threads.

Here's mine, the ugly colorized thing is a spellBrowser, where you can find "all" of your spells, and then move them to your spell-bar. It's not working quite yet, mostly because triggering won't cast an event whenever a picture is "used"/clicked. I guess putting a button over it solves. I hope it can be done in a nice way :) Gonna try that tomorrow..

The cam is ofc. moveable, and the minimap is turned off because of it causing lag to my system, I think I can solve it by adding a smaller res, and less compressed image..

Expect some much better looking coming from me soon, this is just for testing purpose:

How I got the editor:

I'm sorry if this sound illegal but I dont understand how it should:

You just donwload the beat client from somewhere, patch it, and you have the editor in your StarcraftIIBeta folder. You cant log on or play melee matches etc but you can use the editor.

And yes JakeCake, thats how it is I think.

That's actually the fog of war he has there, but you can add foggish effects somewhere, forgot where.

You guys have done some great work. I would love to put a custom UI into the map I am working on, but I don't even know where to begin. Are there any good tutorials out there for working with the UI?

Hmm, I am getting some really weird issues with Dialog variable arrays. This is probably the first time I have encountered a bug in the editor that was genuinely a bug and not something stupid I did. But here is the issue:

I am using an if/then/else, and in the 'then' I tell it to show two identical dialogs, except one is in an array and positioned slightly differently on the screen so I can tell them apart. When the conditions are met, the dialog not in an array shows up fine, but the one in an array does not. However, if I just move both of the 'show dialog' actions above the if/then/else (where they will always be on) they both show up.

There is just so much you can do with this!

My contains WASD movements, your camera is controlled by the mouse all the time, so you cant click things so everything is hotkeyed, your minimap ''follows'' you, like in wow etc.

w00t cooldowns!

lol cant wait to wait for 2 months then owe shit buy it HOLY CRAP I AM ALREADY 2 MONTHS BEHIND NOOOOOO D:

owe well no1 wouldve made a fps :D not a TPS theres to many TPS but no FPS.
Lol there was only 3 fps for war3 while 1 million tps XD (FPS First Person Shooter TPS Third person Shooter )

Multiple FPS' are being worked on atm btw.

It is not perfect, but it is in progress.


The health bar follows the player's selected unit.
The ability buttons change based on the player and selected unit.

The 1 ability, stim pack, can be pressed, or the 1 key can be hit to activate it. It will activate on the selected unit.

The number above the health bar is from the mouse being on it.
Both the bar and the tooltip display and update health real time.

completely MUI, so far.

Each player will see their own version of the buttons based on the unit THEY have selected.

Moar to come..

yeah you need triggers for that.
it is not very complicated, but it took much time if you want a really good custom user interface...

btw: how the heroes in my RPG map will learn/unlearn their abilities: :p
