Ah that looks marvelous :D So you're gonna use Str/Agi/Int as Attack/Defense/Special?

Or are you planning on being more specific and adding Spc. Atk/Def

Wel, the formula found on Serebii.net didnt use Sp.Att and Sp.Def, so i guess no,,
for now, Str = Attack, Int = Def, Agi = null,,
Agi hasnt got any real specification yet,, so i guess we might:
1) not use it
2) Do something else with it,,

Oh, in the old Pokemon versions, Special was calculated against Special. The Serebii.net formula demonstrates physical calculation, only using Atk/Def.. that's why :p
Remember that most elemental moves are calculated as Special, so using Attack/Defense would be rather strange.. you could do;

Str = Attack - 0.00 to hp and regen < find a way to add hp by level instead
Agi = Defense - 0.1 to movespeed(?)
Int = Special - +1.00 mana, 0.00 mana regen
 
Health cannot be increased through another method, unless you make a dummy tome based off of the Manual of Health.

And what the hell would increasing the mana benefit in? Not much, but the Int attribute would be used as a dummy.

No increment in movespeed, that wouldn't be great.

I have a different method for increasing stats. Over time, I have been reluctant to share it, but here it is in all its glory.

You include every single attribute via using dummy items. The Strength would be used as the Health attribute as well as the dummy ability (because there's no way to increase it easily), and the damage and such is calculated by the charge of each item instead of the attributes. That means you'd have to make an order in which the items list themselves. The only problem is you can't set the original starting stats with a global trigger (e.g. A unit enteres playable map area), but you can set it to a small region. Well, the ideas there anyway, waiting to be expanded on.

I only suggested using mana as PP, unless you have another way. The test map I made uses the Manual of Health method, works fine if you ask me. But I guess it's not that efficient.

The speed increment is kind of silly I suppose, if the turn based system is based on speed I guess the Pokemon with the most Defense would always go first.

If I understood that correctly, by using charged items as stats, you could even have Spc. Atk/Def implemented then, as well as Speed.. leaving 2 empty slots for an item of some sort for the Pokemon to hold (Berries, etc) as for the Strength as HP.. sounds simple enough I guess it'd work.
 
I'm a little sceptical of Mana being used as PP primarily because it's inaccurate. If we did, though, increasing it would be a little op for intelligence based Pokemon (they wouldn't run out of moves as quickly as other Pokemon would :S). Charged items can have their numerical values called at any time, too, allowing for the whole Spc. Atk/Def, as you say.

The charged items seem like the most effective stat system after all : ) has Yixx considered it?
Though for the PP.. I guess cooldown can replace it.

Is the map going to be the original Kanto map or will it be something completely new? Just curious, after seeing the screenshots in the first post. : P
 
It's going to be completely new. However, that's the first region. The second will be new as well. Then we include Johto and Kanto. That's the plan for the long term, however, so there will probably be a release once the first one is done. Then we'll see how much we feel up to creating the rest of the original master plan *eerie sound effects OOH*

Oh I see.. PLANS aye aye :p well if you guys happen to need an extra "dude" anywhere in the team, I'm up for it. I was gonna start on my own Pokemon map but a team works better than 1 person. For now I suppose I'll throw in any ideas I come accross. :D

I thnk you could have a bank of sorts for each pokemon the trainer has on their team.
Pokemon 1:
move 1 40/40
move 2 30/30
move 3 60/60
move 4 25/25

Pokemon 2: (not going to show. You get the point :p)

You can have it so that when a move is used, it takes 1 point away from it's respective pool, and when someone uses an item that recovers PP, it adds back to each pool whetever amount the PP gives :/ So, that's the idea.

From what i see, you guys are really into it :D Which is good cuz the progress is quite fast :)
Q:
-It will surely be using -save/load codes so you can battle online right?
-Will the leveling speed/system be similar to the original game?

I can't wait for this to come out ^^ Definitely one of the maps i will always be checking on over and over again. :)
 
This are gonna be the animation names for usage in abilities:

Spell One => Cutting animation like Scratch
Spell Two => Smashing animation like Tackle, Headbutt, Withdraw etc...
Spell Three => Biting animation
Spell Four => Warcry like animation, like Roar, Growl, Leer
Spell Five ... (Not yet designed)
Spell Nine => Usually non-normal/fighting animations, like Vine Whip, Water Gun, Ember

The input in Object editor is the corresponding integer
For Scratch:

Nice! Then we got to have caves made this way, instead of the way we are making them right now (You know? Like using terrain cliffs)

Edit: he is still a part of our project right? I haven't heard from him for a while...

Hehe... Lets just say that this forum is to small for us! :razz:

Anyway...
As some of you may know I have talking about create music for our map. But since the program dosen't allow me to save it, for later work. I am only able to create short melodys.
Yixx asked me to create the intro music for Gym leaders, trainers, spichel Pokemon and so on. You know?
Before the battle starts you hear for an example the Gym Leaders theme music.
I have agreed to do it. But most of the next week am I offline because of a school vacation.
However even though I am create Themes, Icons, Quests, Loading Screens and some of the terrain (I have told Yixx that I would like to do some of the terrain in the map (And yes I can create terrain) And yes he has given me permission to do it)
I do still got one thing I would like to do, A cool and fitting game menu theme for our map. You know? Like Undeads have bones and wood for an example... :thumbs_up:

"Yixx, you should really update terrain screenies.... we need something to draw attraction (+ i wanna see the terrain :p can you PM me the map? xD)"

The terrain have not been updated (As far as I know) because of Yixx istill working with the triggers. We just have to wait :cute:
 
Custom user interface is soooo big in filesize. We need to get something really low-res in order to do so...but in single player...who cares!?
Darkxs, about music, I've been searching for CakeWalk Pro Audio, it is probably the best MIDI software I ever saw...we can share the music work if you want.

I think we should stick to our individual tasks, cuz I've been a modelling bitch since I joined! lol, not really, but remember you are the 2D art guy. But yeah, really, I'm just a modelling prostitute sometimes its tiring... lol

I'm getting my dirty cockroach hands into a pack with 150 pokemon models ripped from pokemon stadium! It will be so much easier to do the models now, if I do get these.

From the day I joined this project I have been doing more then just 2D art. Just as you know m8. About the program you where talking about, can you like me it? Since I am very intrested in music, I do realy want to create that.
 
Yeah, it wouldn't make WONDERS but it would be much easier to organize ideas in different threads, each one about each aspect of the map.

But I really wonder if a 'pokemon' map would be accepted to be hosted in the hive.
They want brilliant ideas, or at least really original stuff...

And I'm afraid that creating a forum anywhere else than the Hive we lose that awesome interface and this community that's always involved in the project with us.

If we are getting a forum, it would be awesome to have it in the Hive.

It's creative, but, instead of pokeballs, you can divide the clock in morning - noon - night - midnight.

This will be like the new pokemon games. Speaking of this, the pokemons will "spawn" in a specific time of the day, like Haunter - Spawn at Night - Midnight.

well..
instead of these middle pokeballs (Blue, Green-Yellow, White, Purple)
put customized symbolic pokemons (they should look good and well-blended)

dawn: 6:00 to 12:00 - as symbol the butterfree
afternoon: 12:00 to 18:00 - as a symbol maybe the sandshrew...
night: 18:00 to 24:00 - as a symbol the haunter..?
dusk: 0:00 to 6:00 - as a symbol the zubat..?

Not to be rude but i honestly dont think that hive will host this project.
The D3 project im working with has 1800 comments and is also a BIG project.
It is on the mainpage for the most downloaded map in a few days and it is in the top 5 of the most downloaded maps. And it should count as a "Project in progress" since it is only a beta so far, blizzard even contacted us (they havent responded CloudWolf yet). And if that doesnt get hosted i dont think that this will be.

Myself i want to see this project hosted by hive since its awesome but i dont think that will happen, atleast not now.

Thanks for the great idea HFR and HC. Just after I went offline I came up with an idea.
How about:
Dawn - Snorlax which is awake.
Day - Snorlax which is eating.
Night - Snorlax which is sleeping.
Dusk - Snorlax (maby) yawn.
How is that?

As i can see,, you guys want to add day and night,, well a long time ago, i worked on a time/date system in GUI, i can try to add that in Jass,, even though i am not sure it will be nice,,

and either way, this project doesn't have to be hosted. its going to be a great map, like Hero RPG or Dark Invasion. Thats the idea anyway.

anywaayy. I cant wait to terrain this again =) i want to make this project even more awsome.

And i think this map needs some HIGH resolution models, with LOW POLY COUNTS (size)
And i have the perfect trees. They are beutiful and are only 200 kb. fuck even less than that. if it had these trees, this map would be so real.
