Paired Contest: Icon & Spell

What about a contest where 2 people team up, one makes an icon and the other one a spell based on that icon?

Probably someone came up with this idea already, but I'm back in HWS since a few weeks or so. Haven't checked the archieve.

Yes, truly a nice one. Though we still have Zephyr and Icon contest on-going at the moment. We can't launch this one anytime soon, I guess.

Maybe we can make it so that the "Zephyr" part of this contest isn't so based heavily on coding and more on visuals, concept, and theme.

The advantage of this combinations hardly weights.
A spell has usually a very general shape, allowing to pick fitting icons from the Icons section, and vice versa for icons.

Paired contests should rather be Model+Texture or Model+Icon, since these weight much more,
especially considering how many contests are opened recently.

I wouldn't say Icons+Spells hardly weigh. It probably just seems
like it, as it is something new that hasn't been done before. I think that exactly that general shape for spells adds another level of difficuilty to this concept,
as you gotta make the spell fit to it seamlessly.

I dont know if Kyrbi0 or IcemanBo is the host of new contest, but my suggestion is to pick theme from discussion threads (3) and launch this cos I doubt waiting more time will bring anything.

Theme picking was always sort of irrelevant process for me. There isn't much reason to pick theme majority will like, getting done theme you don't fancy or one you find difficult is the real challenge. And whatever theme chosen, contest will still have enough participants, as always.

Contest lasts 30 days, so if you would invest just 20 minutes to your entry every day you'd still be able to finish flawlessly perfectly working spell.

I'm not sure I understand much of this... But I think it's overly optimistic to believe that, regardless of what Theme is picked, "there will be enough participants, as always".

I'm just being realistic here. I know myself; I can't just do 20 minutes a day (besides, it ignores the reality of the "flow"; it can take some time to just "get into the flow" & actually be productive. 20 minutes in & I'm just getting started, only to stop?... That'd be one long month of nothing). And any amount of time that is not spent furthering my education, ensuring I have a college to come back to, & getting a job that ensures I have a home to come back to, is more important.

Anyway, IRL aside, I'm just saying I shouldn't be entering Contests here in the next few weeks. Maybe at the end of the month, if I'm smart.
