Hmm... Isn't ninja chinese? Why does everybody want to be a 'ninja' If you want to be a ninja, you are a farmer, nothing more, thats how they started, You should think of another name, becouse here is a total different history ^^. But I've seen a very special Mana variant in a specific game, it works with planes of the elements that are in other 'dimensions' You can draw energy from them and then use it, but in some places the field is strong or weaker, or it is not there at all, but I don't think it is usefull for this RP.

"Ninja" are actually Japanese, whom the Chinese (generally) actively hate. But yes, ninja were nothing but peasants who taught themselves to fight. "Kunai" are really nothing more than multi-purpose spades, and are a staple of the ninja arsenal because it was completely ordinary for peasant farmers to be carrying them around. While I'm at it, let's dispel some other myths that most likely originated from Naruto. Your chakras are like centres of energy, in Naruto they use the word chakra where qi (or possibly ki) should be used instead. Ninjutsu is the ENTIRE art, not just the nonexistent "magic" behind it. The fighting style, the stealth techniques, everything.

Also, the reason "mana" is overused is because the concept it describes is essential to almost every fantasy realm imaginable.

Hmmmmz. another word for mana. What about "Aer" or a variant or play on the word. Its the latin word for ether and its simple and has a nice ring to it.

"And Feanas summoned forth all the aer from the depths of his very soul, and feeling the sheer power coursing through him he unleashed it in a mighty spell, and smote the beast with magic fire."

"And the Black-king ripped the aer from the wizard, floating the shining ball of power in his hand he clenched his fingers and the once pristine aer became as black as midnight."

Elves are indeed staples of Fantasy work....You prevent them from being cliches by giving them different aspects. Like my Celestial elves..Very few elves in fantasy are clerics of a single god named Etheriel and builders of airships, guns, and flying kingdoms.

Name: Daron Dalestone
Race: Dwarf
Class: Warrior, Pistolier

Organization: A Rogue Dwarf Faction
Background Info: Daron grew up in Dalestone, a small dwarven village north of the great pass hidden in the mountains. Staring from an age of 10 he learned the arts of Blacksmithing from his father. When he was 16 he proved to be a very talented student and began training with weapons as pistols and axes. That training proved to be very usefull, 2 years later his village was attacked by hordes of orcs destroying half of the village. Daron lost his mother, his father, his girlfriend and his sister. Only he and his brother remained, they sworn to take revenge and they would wipe out the whole orc tribe. For Many years they've followed the Orc tribe, launching small raids that were never very succesfull, but still after a few years they hunted down atleast half of the tribe. Then Disaster struck: a terrible plague covered the lands. Luckily both Daron and his brother survived. One night when Daron was observing the orc camp it was attacked by hundreds of Undead slaugthering everything. He ran to his brother and told him what happened. Then they would head back to the village, but when they came back, The village was destroyed. From that time both of the brothers would split up, wandering through the lands.
