World of Darjis History
In the beginning
In the beginning, there was the lone god Zerinas he had great powers over the universe powers over water, fire, earth & nature, wind & air, darkness, body & mind, light, and the power over magic with these powers he ruled the universe, but he slowly became bored with this lonely life of creating suns and planets and putting life into them. After a while he decided to create children to amuse himself so he created seven children, but they had no powers over the universe and were ghostly images of himself. Soon he decided to give them some of his powers. To his daughter Larissa he gave the power of light, to his son Nartu he gave the power of water, to his son Gale he gave the power of earth & nature, to his daughter Laventris he gave the power over darkness, to his daughter Florana he gave the power of Fire, to his son Zerves he gave the power over wind & air, to his daughter Galian he gave the power over body & mind, and to his son Dorat he gave power over magic. As he gave his children these powers a part of him was removed by the time he noticed this it was to late he had no powers and finally faded into the shadows.
The Creation
As Zerinas disappered the seven gods and goddesses lost there spiritual form and became proud and beautiful beings. They each decided to create a world that would be a beauty never seen in the universe they called it Darjis. Gale created it a rock sitting in space and worked with Florana to fill it with a molten core. Then Gale created the trees, grasses, mountains, and the living plants of the earth. To watch over his mountains he created the drawf. Then Larissa saw the lifeless plant life and brought sun light to them so they could grow. She also created the elves to live in and watch over the forests and plains of Darjis then she created the humans to befriend the elves and work with theme. Then Nartu came along and made the oceans and streams of Darjis so the life would not thirst. He also created the fish of the water and the sea creatures. Then came Florana she always hated the living so she created volcanos and fire the burn all life see also made the orc out of the very lava to kill. Then came Laventris she did nothing but wait. She waited for the people on Darjis to die and from the corpses she created the undead mindless creatures to prey on everything of life on Darjis. Then came Zerves he created the wind to shape the weather so the climate would never be so plain. Then came shy Galian she roamed the world and created many beast them all pure of mind and body. Then came Dorat he introduced magic to the inhabitants of Darjis he also used magic to to help with creation of life. Many of the creatures of Darjis were kind and helpful others cruel and horrific...
Creatures of Darjis
Human: Humans are greedy by nature because most of them do most things if they are paid the right amount of money. They Worship and follow the Goddess of Light Larissa. They are normally around the height of 6 foot (180 centimeters).
Kianor: A race of technological people, they have no magic whatsoever, instead, they have technology, they live underground and look like crystal humanoids. They are around 2 and a half meters long, but can grow to up to 3 meters. They worship no of the known gods, they worship a god of Construction and development, Yanomar.(Race created by DarkKnight)
High Elf: The High Elves are very kind and generous to friend or foe. They have hospitality to all races. There native lands are the Southern lands of the continuant Ashan. They are vegetarians and are good with nature. They believe it is a sin to eat meat and will shun anyone of there kind that does. They worship the Goddess of Light Larissa, the God Of Water Nartu, and the Nature Demigod Caratias. They are usually the the height of 6.5 feet to 7 feet (195 centimeters to 210 centimeters).
Dark Elf: The Dark Elves are the lone outcasts of their cousins the High Elves, Forest Elves, and Sun Elves. They worship the Goddess Of Darkness & Death Laventris. They where once High Elves and Forest Elves, but where shunned because they ate meat and cut down trees to burn for a bonfire party feast, and because of this small group of 200 elves they and their offspring where said to be cursed and had become evil by there very cousins. Ever since they were driven from there forest home lands north to the snowy peaks of Northern Ashen they have plotted there revenge and they forever will be a small but greatly growing threat to the other elves. They are normally the same height of there cousins about 6.5 feet to 7 feet (195 centimeters to 210 centimeters).
Forest Elf: The Forest Elves are very close cousins to the High Elves and worship the same Goddess Of Light Larissa, God Of Water Nartu, and Demigod Of Nature Caratias. They live in the dense forestland before entering the High Elf homelands in the plains farther south. They are kind and generous to friend and foe like there cousins the High Elves. They usually live within the trees. A traveler could pass a foot from there home and not see it in the trees. They are mostly the same height of there cousins but about half a foot taller around 7 foot (around 210 centimeters).
Sun Elf: The Sun Elves are greatly like there cousins in Ashen, but they live a ocean over in the continent of Dagro. They do not care about meat eating and there not tree fanatics. They live in the mountains of Northern Dagro and have devoted there lives to magic. They are the strongest when in the day because they draw there magic from the sun. They live in the enormous beautifully constructed magic citadels in the mountains. They are normally shorter then there cousins just a little taller then a human at around 6.5 feet (195 centimeters).
Celestial Elves: Aeons ago a great civil war erupted within the race of elven kind over a Great crystal that contained the powers of a fallen star called the Elenastralis. They fought and fought years passed by no one tribe able to hold it in posession for long. Unti a tribe to the east seeing the destruction it would cause to their bretheren and their race as a whole stole the crystal and hid it within their most secure citadel in the center of their kingdom where they began to study the depths of its power. But the other elves blinded by their lust for power and dominance each began to assault the borders. The celestial seers then unleashed a terrible storm upon the borders killing many enemies and yet they still clashed upon the kingdom like a tide of arrows and spears. Seeing no end the Archmages using the artifact lifted the kingdom into the sky and the sea filled the void left in its ascendence.
Then the crystal covering shattered into seven hundred shards revealing a siver core emmanating light in all directions. and those shards where forged into the Astralblades. Bright Swords said to hold the very light of the heavens. These Elves serve the God Of The Moon Etheriel. Their adverage height is about a half a foot shorter then humans around 5.5 feet (165 centimeters). They do eat meat unlike the High Elves but they dont kill what they don't need and their culinary style is bold with flavor where as other elves perfer subtle flavors. They are very mistrusting of even the other elven races and only a few of the other elves have been to the flying kingdom in the last ages. They are one of the very few elven races that make enchanted pieces of technology.(I must think Elenai for making this race whitch is the biggest description of a race i have ever seen)
Blood Orc: The orcs are a ruthless bloodthirsty race living off the destruction of others. The Blood Orcs are by far the most ruthless and bloodthirsty. They have rough dull pointed teeth with two tusk like teeth on there upper mouth. Their skin is a deep red color and they are man eaters. They worship the Goddess Of Fire Florana out of fear more then belief. They live in the volcanic wasteland in the center of Dagro. They are usually about the same size as humans mostly a inch or two taller but there large muscular body makes then look huge to most.
Shadow Orcs: Shadow Orcs are much like there cousins the Blood Orcs in size and shape but they have a dark gray or black skin and their two tusk like teeth are a bit smaller. They are not men eaters but do live on a only meat and maybe a few berries diet. They worship the Goddess Of Fire Florana, but live farther south of the volcanic wasteland in the black barren wasteland close to the Forsaken.
Forsaken: The Forsaken are undead. They are not any undead though they are the undead risen from the great warlords of the past. They number few, but are the most elite warriors on Darjis anyone meeting one is faced with almost undeniable death. They live off of and greatly enjoy the intense suffering of others. They torture any being they capture till it is dead of the most intense pain imaginable. They serve only the Goddess Of Death & Darkness Laventris.
Undead:The undead are the mindless minions of the Goddess Of Death & Darkness Laventris. They are never outnumbered and will attack in till completely exterminated and ever foe they slay join their vast endless forces.
Dwarves:The Dwarves were made by the Wind God Zerves to look over his mountains. They worship him and the Water God Nartu. They watch over all the mountains of Darjis and live in them. They are the greatest crafters and architects ever. They also greatly prize there beards and never cut them they would rather die then to. It is the worse torture to watch defenseless as their beards are cut. They are short and fat about 4.5 feet tall (135 centimeters).
Goblins:Goblins are very greedy. They are cutthroats and do anything for money even kill there own mother for it. They are tall and small framed about 5.5 feet(165 centimeters). They are also the most common mercenaries and live in deep caverns of mountains great rivals of the Dwarves.
Ogres:Ogres are huge dumb beasts with clubs or axes. Few know magic and some even have two head that constantly fight. Favorite pets for the orcs. They live in plains all around Darjis. They are normally about 10 feet to 11 feet tall(300 to 330 centimeters tall).
Dragons:Dragons are large flying beasts. The largest they can grow is unknown. They usually can breath something destructive like acid, fire, poison, frost, or water. They can live very long lives of about ten thousand years. Over those years they gather great amounts of treasure which they hide in caverns and guard fiercely people have know idea why they do that but they are attracted to treasure some how.
These are a few other creatures in Darjis most of them are recently discovered,to dangerous to be around or to hard to get to.
Dracon: Half Human Half Dragon. Dragons can mate from the second they are born this the the time believed that this takes place.(sick sick humans)
Weeviles: Weeviles are desert sand creatures that gather strength at and live in the deserts of the unexplored southern continent of Dasernt.
Vesga: These are lone small creatures that are great architects.
Elents: These are the very very few ancient creatures that are pure elements that watch over Darjis and have great power.
Giants: The giants of Darjis are beasts some bloodthirsty some very kind, but then always do stuff on there own or in small tribes and are very kind to there own kin.
Other: These are the creature that are not yet discovered or not named yet.
Organazations:
The Silverstar Council: The "Silverstar" is the representation of the flying kingdom's ruling body when they come together in council.
The Golden Sun Council: This is the council that governs over the Sun Elfs they are very powerful and have great power. They are housed in the Sernia Citadel the most powerful stronghold in all of the Dargo.
Bloodfang Slayers: While the prideful Paladins consider themselves "Protectors of the People", they somehow never seem to have time to protect smaller towns, and instead, are always working at pleasing the higher ups. The Bloodfang Slayers were an organization of people who've been trained in the art of hunting for the purpose of protecting the smaller towns. The hunting specializes in killing the very things paladins claim to be best at, that is, the unholy. This, the obvious difference in wealth, and the fact that the Slayers are most apathetic about one another's religions, has sparked a fierce rivalry ever since. Since the Slayers have been created, no one has ever called a paladin "protector of the people".
Stanth: An organization that has adopted the name commonly associated with its masks, although its existence is far from common knowledge. Members of this organization travel the world to slay the dead that would walk among the living. While not particularly religious, most members pay respects to Nartu, Galian, and Dorat, by whose graces they stay alive. Stanth holds an enormous wealth of knowledge on magical water techniques, particularly ones for travel and combat. In addition, most members of Stanth are competent with at least one other form of specific magic. Stanth is in possession of a large number of Sword Legacies, and each member wields one. Their fortress is hidden in the Floating Ridge.
Item Log:
Areas/Places:
Floating Ridge: The name Floating Ridge is rather misleading, as the ore the ridge is named for actually floats in the air. Floating Ridge is one of three areas (of common knowledge, at any rate) which provide this unnaturally hard, floating ore (known as stenet). Floating Ridge is by far the largest of the areas, and it even includes two mountains, which are rumoured to be giant castles when the mist surrounding them clears.
Stanth Fortress: While the low-flying fortress has no name, it is referred to (as most things related to the organization are) with the name commonly associated with the mask and cloak appearance. Located between the two mountains in Floating Ridge, the fortress is actually built on an enormous chunk of stenet, as are the primary fortifications. The fortress is also anchored down with a chain made of stenet. The means by which the fortress was carved, placed, and anchored have been lost to all but the Stanth archives, and perhaps a select few other races.
Magic Arts:
Magic: Blood Magic: A dark art, that requires a steep price for incredible destructive power. While many magical arts require or use blood for certain rituals, blood magic makes use of the blood used in all of its techniques and spells.
Technically, any ritual or magic circle created with blood (especially when blood is not required) is blood magic, but only magic where blood is used when a similar technique exists that does not require or use blood is considered blood magic. Blood magic techniques are generally several many times more powerful than their regular counterparts, but (obviously) require a substantial amount of blood.
The reason blood magic is considered dark magic is that an adept may use an opponent's blood, once the opponent's blood is drawn. If the opponent is not proficient at the aura control required to use most magic, his or her blood may be used while still inside their body.
Most blood magic techniques require the user to be a proficient hydromancer, although the spells only require the user to have a plentiful supply of blood.
Celestial Magic (until a proper name is found): This form of magic is the power of the Celestial elves and those few they bless it with. It was laid upon them and merged into their souls the divine magical power of Etheriel. It comes in three classes.
1st:The power of knowledge and invention, This form is used most commonly as enchantments and to forge the world around them into magical arts, It is essentially active/passive non offensive magic.
2nd: The power of war and combat, This form is used by the celestial elf military often in conjunction with the enchanted technology and weapons of the first class, or it is used alone.
3rd: The power of Etheriel and the soul, This form is the highest form of Celestial magic, it is the very core magic ability of those blessed with it. Etheriel's might shows forth from the elven soul to smite and burn the enemy with holy magic or to heal and resurect.
These are the three main classes of magic of the Celestial elf race. Often portion will mingle into the others and create subclasses, though they are too numerous to name.
Magic: Eclipse Magic: Created by a society of exiles, Eclipse magic combines the powers of the sun, moon, and stars, to create powerful spells from the higher powers. Such usage of magic is usually considered the equivalent to using black magic amongst paladins, as it is considered a perversion of the soul, and a taint upon the community.Though eclipse spells rarely rely on night and day for its spells, they say the mightiest of its users can actually create night and day.
Magic (Technique): Construct Weapon: A sufficiently talented mage may replace any missing limb with a magical construct that becomes as much a part of the owner's aura as the original limb was their body. It is not at all unusual for warriors to ask for a replacement limb that has a secondary form, usually a weapon or something to give the warrior an advantage in battle.
Clan (Bloodline) Magic: As long ago as when life itself was the only thing in the world considered to be old, there existed clans that were completely devoted to a single purpose, and with that purpose many powerful techniques. As successive generations of a clan devote themselves to the same magical techniques, it is possible for the magical techniques to become a part of that clan's auras.
While only powerful spells or techniques may become part of a clan's blood right, novel ways of casting weaker spells have been known to belong to some clans' bloodline magic. Extreme proficiency at certain types of magic can also be passed down.
Magic: Archaic Necromancy: While most contemporary forms of necromancy are corruptions of the holy arts of the various races, Archaic Necromancy is its own art. Because Archaic Necromancy is built only upon itself, and because of its age, necromancers that practice Archaic Necromancy are rare. Masters of Archaic Necromancy are even rarer. Archaic Necromancy is far more powerful than contemporary Necromancy, but requires much more training, which requires more physical stamina than most other forms of training for necromancy.
Archaic Necromancers are capable of exerting necromantic energies with far greater ease than other necromancers, whose arts are built upon corruptions of holy arts.
Golden Sun Elf Plate Armor: This peice of armor is made from a new and very rare metal steel making it much stronger then the normal regular plate armor. It is also dipped in a gold like metal called golren giving it its golden look.
Elder Sun Elf Golden Plate Mail Robe: this robe is made of tiny overlaping plates made of steel. It is magically encanted by the Sun Elfs to make it as light as a feather. The sleves are sewed togather using diamond thread which is unbreakable. This is made only for The Elder Sun elfs of the Golden Sun Council.
Sun Elf Plate Mail: This is a normal Plate Mail suit of armor made of steel and decorated with golren.
Astralblade:The Great Crystal containing the powers of the fallen star Elenastralis covering shattered into seven hundred shards revealing a siver core emmanating light in all directions. and those shards where forged into the Astralblades. Bright Swords said to hold the very light of the heavens.
Malice of Vigelus: This massive mace was forged long ago by mythril smiths whose names are long forgotten. The mace was made from the stolen horde of a great leviathan, the dragon known as Vigelus whose entire treasure horde was made of mythril.
The Vengence of Tacidus: A century ago a human mage Tacidus isolated in his tower created The Order of Tacidus. An enchanted bottle of unstable liquid enchanted with many spells, Set in an iron Embroidery and an iron cover with runes carved on its surface. The liquid inside temporarily turns the drinker into a great beast, and what this beast is no one has lived to tell the tale.
The Staff of Aleneth: Long ago an Elven priest named Aleneth was wandering the wasted deserts of Southern Ashan before the Forest Elves and High Elves made their home there. He wandered there communing with a spirit named Eledir. Eldir was once a great warrior a knight in the service of an even greater Elf-lord during an even greater war. But when Eldir failed to capture a powerful artifact that fell from the heavens he was executed and cursed to forever wander the deserts seperated from his lush forest home. Then tears began to flow from Aleneth's elven eyes. For he too longed for home and so he took up his staff and pleeing for the help of Etheriel he smote the dry earth. And up from the thirsty ground came springs of water and the skies rained. A great river began to form and meadow flowers and grass began to wave in the moist wind. And in the center of this green paradise a great forest burst from the ground and Eldir was pleased and finally able to rest with his last spiritiual breath he blessed the staff and it sprang forth beautiful blue flowers that shined during the day and dripped healing water during the night.
The Shield of Mesheron: This dwarven shield was forged not from ordinary steel but from the very scales of a Searon named Mesheron, a mighty creature half bird half lizard. These beasts made their nest in the tunnels of the deep mountain and their scales emitted a pleasant golden light that the dwarves found nearly priceless but only the revered Smithlord Drazenhold was brave enough to take on the Searon in battle and win its hide. After the glorious hunt he took the scales and melted them down into a granite hard plate that he fastened to the leathery skin of the slain ledgend and using its bones he made a beautiful embroidery to circle the golden shining plate and into the bones he set fine jewels to play in the light cast by the molten scales.
The Armor of Elandar: This armor, made for a dragon, was worn by a dragon named Elandar, first it was already godlike, but it got pierced by a even more powerfull weapon, The Lance of Thyrenai, Some say that the armor has taken some of the power from the Lance and added it to itself, No-one has seen the armor after that battle though, not even a dragon itself.
The Lance of Thyrenai: This long forgotten lance was said to contain the very fire of the Elenastralis. Not long after the Celestial elf kingdom was flying over the earth and before the elven defenses were built, the elves faced a new foe the dragons of the western lands wished to take the new found silver treasures of the land and the elves were faced with a bloody war that would leave the elf tribe desolated. But the celestial elf Thyrenai Knight of the Silverstar took up his lance and went into battle astride his daring steed Sylvel a great warbird. And using a lance blessed by the holy order of Etheriel he along with the Silverstar soldiery led the attack on the dragon flight.
With the holy lance held high his hair fluttering behind as the mighty birds wings beat the air under it the lance began to shine and the fire of the stars burst from its edge and the silver light running down its shaft he made his brave charge at a mighty leviathan and the lance easily pierced the godlike armour of the beast. And the rest is lost to history.
The Conviction of Ezereal: Long ago a horde of blood thirsty orcs attacked the Temple of Larissa at Antenum. A lone paladin named Ezereal and his entourage began to fight. Ezereal took up a his simple warhammer and began to beat back the incoming orcs.
Wave by wave of orcs fel before the mighty paladin and no orc made head way into the great cathedral. But soon the mighty paladin began to tire his human muscles ached under the strain and his head swam as he exhausted his energy. Then an orc commander charged forward and bashed the paladin backward flying in to the pulpit. He looked up and saw the statue of Larissa bathed in the sun light of the coming dawn and suddenly his hammer began to glow. GLORIOUS golden light issued forth from the hammer and the once simple hammer became a great maul shining forth with the very light of Larissa he was empowered and charged forward issuing the ever famous battle cry. FOR LARISSA FOR THE GODESS AND FOR KINGDOM AND THE LIGHT. HE bashed his foes with the Godborn hammer and with each foe it crushed the very bones and tissue of the orcs burst out ward and gaping holes burned and seared by the light of Larissa were left as the mark of THE CONVICTION of Ezereal.
The Harp of Delrenain: Long ago a lonley noble woman fell in love with a vampire, This vampire was Lord Delrenain a High elf that had fallen to a lust for blood and soon a lust for women, The noble lady was so smitten that she bagan to come out at night just to watch him fly by her window, Soon enough he began to come down to her balcony and they would speak for hours dancing to Delrenain's dark music. Soon they began to indulge in dark passions and the people of the house began to fear the lady when she began to show dark signs, Her eyes began to become black as midnight and her skin became pale as the rising moon. They soon locked her into a tower and wards placed on the entrences. The love in raged vampire would come as close as possible and the dark lady would pull a strand of hair and float it towards the dark lord. He in his own way chereshed the hairs as if they were drops of her soul. Night after Night he would visit and soon she was bare and Delrenain decided to free his dark lady. With all his might he broke through the wards scaring his visage and he freed his lady. Flying out into the night he looked down upon her, and his lust for blood soon consumed his lust for passion. He bit the lady and drank her blood, till she died. Realizing what he had done, He took the hairs and wove them into strings to play his dark lament for eternity. The harp would blead as he played and those who heard the imense sadness of dark love lost forever to a dark hunger, would succumb to a deap depression and would lay forever in sadness till they died of atrophy.
The Bow of Ethlen: Long ago during the Elenastralis war the elven ranger Ethlen was commanded to scout out the Celestial elf encampment.
He soon found the encampment and saw the elves rigging and testing a new elven siege weapon. "This weapon was a prototype for the elven guns you see today". Seeing the great damage this could cause he ran back to his commanders and told them about a great weapon like a great crossbow but with out string nor arrow that could blow gaps in the stone walls as if it were mere leaves.
He was then commanded to take his batallion and assault the weapon.
His batallion soon let loose from the trees a rain of arrows and the elves barely made it to their shields before the arrows. *thud* *thud* *thud* came boring down on the protective talbards. The ambushing elves impatient made a charge into the clearing and began to fire upon the celestial elves in great volleys. The celestial elves made their charge swords drawn their bretheren falling around them one by one until they finally made it close and ripped the ranger line apart. But Ethlen resisted the assault and rallied his soldiers into a circle formation and spinning around a cyclone of arrows and blood the Celestial elves began to fall. Then the High mage Finalai Lefein and his entourage came charging into the clearing to reinforce the falling brothers.
Ethlen and Finalai soon locked in ranged combat Finalai's spells caste with great fury and the fire and light clashed with the flying arrows of the woodland kingdom. Soon Ethlen began to run low and Finalai soon gained the upperhand. Ethlen then prayed for victory and his quiver began to magically fill with green arrows and his bow taut he fired the everlasting arrows his might never stronger Finalai soon began to tire and *thud* the arrows finally landed their mark. Finalai was soon carried away in the retreat that followed.
Eversince the celestial elves have searched for that bow not only out of curiosity but out of burning vengence and hatred at a ranger who bested one of the flying kingdoms best mages.
And ever so Elenai Lefein also ever searches for this bow as well so he can finally bring honor back to his grandfather who was bested by it so many years ago.
