erg, the model isn't showing up now, i was before i moved it, (it was off to the side too much, so i DL'd another shoulder model, and imported my shoulders to it. then i moved it and stacked it on top of the new model, then deleted the new stuff. so it was at the right area, but now it isn't showing up. is this a common mistake?)
 
hm, well, the naga are supposed to be hideous... their naga. do you plan on skinning or editing a model? (it has been skinned before)

and i uploaded my Coral shoulders! whatup?!

So, i think i will try to make a naga anomo now, and try my hand at it's animations... i just need to figure out how to get a myrmidon onto a .max file type... any ideas?
 
You know what? I didn't even bother to check the skins section. lol Wow.

@Wave, maybe you can google it.

And one more thing. Just noticed the skins there. The Crypt guard would be great for some sort of forgotten temple or cemetery. lol Necromancers could have taken hold of the place and made it their lair.

In fact, I feel like making it. XD

lol I originally had Sargeras, but remembered about Guldan. Can't believe I forgot that HE was the one exploring the ruins. XD

Anyway, I've been attempting some geomerging, but I can't get the necromancer skull to move with the Myrmidon's head. Can you guys help me out? I've tried it on all of the Bone_Neck meshes, Object Bone_Neck, and the Bone_Head. It's been so long, I've forgotten how to do all this.
 
The naga don't have a damn connection to necromancy. Please let the idea of the naga necromancer and replace it with the Naga Death Knight, death knight has spells that are similar to necromancer.

I don't like the idea of Naga Deep Stalker being as a upgraded unit, it does not fit. The Naga Deep Stalker has a team glow and it is a hero, why would a hero be a unit?
So your preview is: Heroes - Naga Warlord, Naga Sea Witch and Naga Death Knight.
Why not add Naga Deep Stalker along with other heroes. All races (Human, orc, undead, night elf) have 4 heroes. Why should naga stand out? The fourth (Death Knight) should be like the expansion heroes (Blood Mage, Crypt Lord, Shadow Hunter, Warden), Death Knights in WoW are the most powerful class, then they should be more powerful than other heroes.
I suggest this:
1.Naga High Warlord
2.Naga Tide Priestess (Sea Witch)
3.Naga Deep Stalker
4.Naga Death Knight
 
The Coral ents, I suggest naming it Coralant are spawned from naga coral trees, as said the Coral Trees are for underwater naga harvesting, coralants spawn from coral trees and I think they should have a model that suits the tree, treeant model does not look like a coral.

Hero abilities - naga death knight has death spells, naga tide priestess already has got abilities I don't see any reason to change that, naga deep stalker could have options to summon a deep sea murloc, have a shadow, frost spell, naga high warlord should be a tanker, he should have warrior skills.
 
Naga don't have ents. Ents are nature spirits. Naga, when they were Highborne, used and abused Arcane magic. Arcane Magic is tied to the golems (Dalaran and the Blood Elves are known for creating them with it), and thus, if anything, they would have golems.

Coral "Ents" would shatter, because coral is just that brittle. But a golem using the coral as a weapon (One hits, maybe a shower of spikes) would work, however.


I couldn't help but think of the naga statue when I was reading these posts, however, in corrolation to the "hydro-cannon" golems. (fountain mouth :P)

... Naga statue golem... A golem, shaped like a Naga Myrmidon. :3 A massive, new superweapon by some craftsman. Kinda like the Thor or TerraTron from Starcraft 2 (the concept of the weapon)
 
lol I was thinking of them being more liek the Mountain Giants, but built with a nagaish feel. Smoother, uses water, powered by arcane, since that's what the naga use...

As for the Naga Death Knight, Death Knights do have necromancer spells. Arthas had Animate Dead, and the Death Knights in Wow could summon undead and raise allies. Since we're not being very canon, I think it's fine to have a Naga Death Knight Necromancer.
 
So far, I've got him with these spells:
Summong Crypt Guards (Level 1: 2, then 4, then 6 [more of a little oversight, but they do fairly well aginst a swarm of footmen while still dieing])
Rain of Death (Like Blizzard, but rains shadow bolts that do AOE damage. An has a wider range than Blizzard. [Can't figure out how to change the missiles yet. still working on it.])
Vampiric Aura (To be a unique anomaly, he has to have more than just a different power. So I was thinking of longer fangs. [I think it looks great.])
Animate Dead (What would a necromancer be if he couldn't raise the fallen? [Spell hasn't changed.])

Hope you guys like the idea and spells. I did some backstory for the character already. And if anyone can think of a good name, tell me. The WoW names are so focused on snakes and water, it isn't funny. Maybe something along the lines of death or darkness. XD
 
May I like to point out that Deep Stalker model in my map has no team glow and is not upgraded unit. Besides wouldn't be better to have another intelligent hero (well all male naga models share animations which gets annoying)? And isn't naga necromancer uh campaign enemy not actual naga unit (also I never understood why would any race be unable to learn other types of magic instead of just racial)


Anyway Rain of Fire and Blizzard use model that is in constant loop animation of appearing from air and falling to the ground which means that very few models can replace. Though I can't shake of the felling that those spells are better for intelligent hero cuz he will have mana to use them. RTS heroes are lot more limited and focused on one role because well they have just 4 abilities.

sacrid, i appreciated you trying to create naga necromancer, but let Veljko figure his own naga race. In fact, go on and design what you want, letting others do the same

Veljo, continue shaping up the naga as you want.
sacrid, don't be so.... persistent on your part (which is kinda to the point of shubbing the idea down other's throat :/)
 
It is kinda conflicting. I mean this is group project which means all should suggest ideas but the problem comes is with actual agreeing. I duno maybe we should have roles? I mean I can for example work on the race with few others while other could make models, icons (seriously there are no icons for most of models), campaign story...

Oh and on the side I did add golem because well it is more unique then murloc catapult, 4t hero Enchantress

Found it. Though I would add waveseeker to the modelers and if I recall correctly you and Var are great modelers too. Oh and I must ask even tho its not my place but can we have Murloc Demon Hunter as a small enemy or comedy factor?


Anyway does anyone know any cool Golem model we can use? Snake statue, Golem made out of Sunken Ruin Doodads? Recolored Golem seems boring.
 
I have to look around a bit.

Murloc Demon Hunter. It's interesting, but wouldn't really work. One thing I did think of yesterday was bloopers, like for the credits. We could do a few random references to scenes from other movies or games. For example, two characters on a cliff. One's a Death Knight (or Lich King) saying to the other, "Together, we will rule the world as father and son".

And that'd be while the credits are rolling. Could be kind of cool.
 
lol You're not. There's var and me. While var isn't modelling at the moment, I am trying to create my Naga Death Knight Necromancer. Once I find out how to get the geomerge to properly merge the two models, things will really pick up.

I've also been spending some time mapping. I've got some great ideas already, but until we get a plot, I can't implement them into the story.

and sacrid, whatever you might be trying, i think you shouldn't be using the necromancer's skull thing, it just doesn't fit a naga.. what would be cooler is a skull of some other being, and some more things. it's all about thinking out of the box, not looking and applying what's already there..

don't just make a necro-wannabe, make a Naga necromancer >:D
 
sacridshadow, you've complicated things abouth your model that it does not make sense. If we here are talking something about logic and reality, your idea of necromancer is not suitable, like you say there are no coralants for naga race, they would shatter, or that underwater arrows would be against gravity. It is unlogical to create a Naga Death Knight Necromancer, it is logical to replace that with the Naga Death Knight. Why? Because necromancer is a thing that only burning legion and undead have and few corrupted races, the naga are not on the side of undead, Death Knight is a class in WoW which all races can become, which means it is a interracial class, so the same is for naga, example trolls do not have any connection with the death, aren't corrupted and can become death knight, the necromancer has similar spells to death knight, WoW was planning to add a necromancer class but they did not release it.
 
Necromancy is type of magic like any other (Wowpedia places it under religion also ). And Murguls can be necromancers so why can't naga? Many other races use necromancy like Nerubians and Satyrs. Besides Naga were created by Old Gods and they are also evil so naga are related to evil (and are quite corrupt race). Magic is not race oriented, it persons choice. Just because some races prefer one magic over other doesn't mean they can't be anything else. And in the end its his model so he can make what he wants.
 
The Naga use the Arcane, just as they did when they were Highborne. Humanity wields the Arcane. Necromacy is a darker branch of the Arcane, and lures such users over to it through the Arcane's corruptive power. (It is raw energy, and the mages want MORE, thus leading to fel magic and necromacy) As a darker branch of the arcane, I don't see why there can't be a few examples of sorcerors who have delved into necromacy.

However, when they were transformed into the naga, the males lost most of their intellegence. They became muscular, and very dangerous. The Females retained their beauty and intellegence, and act as spellcasting supporters. While there are some spellcasting male naga, they aren't widespread.
 
Thank you VeljKom. You explained it very well. Animalpower, what I'm calling my unit is not what it is actually going to be called. that's just so everyone knows what I'm talking about. Storywise, I made it so that the naga did become a death knight, and focused more on the raising and controlling of undead. I'm also making him a minor anomaly. Aside from the fact that all naga are anamolies just by being what they are, there are the additional changes from the common looks. In this unit's case, he'll have longer fangs, thus justifying his buff. And Velj is right. This is my unit.
 
Think it is simplest way to say that if murguls can be necromancers according to lore (and they aren't exactly what you call intelligent race) why can't naga?

Anyway think I'll soon need testers. Its not done yet but race can already stand against normal computer surprisingly, even though most units lack abilities... or AI is just damn slow...
