Yo all. I decide to upload some of my map terraining.

REMEMBER EVERYTHING IS DEFINETLY PLAYABLE
I wont share maps (from dead campaing project) and / or textures, so don't bother to ask.



Most of the terrains were for campaing what me and Garsh were making but it died, because I ran out of motivation :/

After big break me and Garsh started to remake our old map, Demise of the Death God. Demise of the Death God is PvE map for 1 to 3 players with a lot of boss encounters and shiat. Old version of the map is really ugly but pretty fun to play though me decide to make it more like hack'n'slash like to this remade version. Story:-
Once there was a castle what was known from it's brave soldiers...
No one could claim the castle because of its strong walls and its perfect position. The Castle of Braves is surronded by sea and forest full of bloodthirsty wolves.
And this undefeatable stronghold was commanded by wise and skillful leader who was comparing magic and raw power to protect the castle... for thousand years there wasn't any problems to keep castle in own of right owners.

But then came... the traitor... named as Athar'razn... He was living in the castle as arch mage for nearly twenty years... but when his preparations were completed. He opened portal into Darkness in silence of night...
At this night... Death God Deg'orus himself came out from the portal of Darkness and cursed the Castle of Braves and its soldiers
with most horrifying curse... curse what will tear flesh from soldiers and make them slaves of the Death God forever!
Castle fell into eternal darkness of night...

Behind of the castles walls, army of the darkness will grow and plan the reign of the Undead...
Gods have sent souls of most powerful warriors to stop this madness and face the Death God himself...
Path is dangerous and hard... so choose wisely... or you will be slave too... forever...

Some of these terrains are made by Garsh so a lot credits goes to him.

The mine:

I liked the orange crystal part, and how you kept the colours together, but the terrain walls are no good. Too stretched, too square. Also you should watch out for small mistakes like crystals sticking out of bottom of carts.

Really liked the window one.

Ice palace:

Snowpile looks nice, stones could use some variation. The bridge itself is above good, but you could at least rotate the crystals to avoid repetitiveness. Once again, 90 degree terrains are no good, especially here.

Mountain:

Really, nothing to see.

Forest:

Forest is durable, but once again that overstretched terrain (you could at least smooth the edges). And the waterfall is way too flat and linear. Even a crescent shape would improve picture a lot, not talking about the splitting up and needle water streams.

Edit:

And use goddamn smaller pictures! Both in format and size! Seriously, each one is MB at least.

Mine.

I could smaller those walls so they don't look so stretched. I do it when i'm too bored to do anything else.

Frozen Palace

Of course 90 degree ( if i got it right, im not sure what you meant ) pictures looks bad because they shouldn't be seen from that angle.

Mountain

It's part of boss fight. Maybe i will modify it lil' bit someday.

Forest

Can you tell what parts are overstretched so i can modify them...
And waterfall.. i like it that way, maybe i modify it lil bit if you could tell me how it's flat :D

I don't really like the 90 degrees cliffs in Frozen Palace. They seem...kinda like..."hello...? Falling to my doom here..."

Well, all "90 degree" walls are overstretched, because 64-pixel tile is covering such large distance.

And the waterfall is flat because its just a river going in a straight line and falling over edge which is exactly perpendicular to river's flow. Rivers are never like that.

Where === is edge of waterfall, and .\/. is river flow, and || \\ // are river banks, and [] are stones sticking out.

I maybe got that waterfall thing, thanks :)
I see what i can do.

In mine it's pretty easy to cover those 90degree walls with doodads so those could look better. But in Frozen palace those 90degree walls can't be covered, be cause they should be edge of broken glacier. Any ideas how to make 'em look better?

Nice playable terrain. I like to get motivation by looking at others amazing terrain.
I really like how you made the lava, really creative. :) very nice. If you ask me then terrain is only epic if its playable.

Hehe, thx. It's playable :D Soon (maybe next weekend) i will upload video about cool boss fight at castle under ice. As a proof :D

Update

Added new location, The Church.

I think cave part looks good but imo church part needs something but i don't know what. So I would want to get suggestions and ideas.

EDIT:

Updated all forest pictures and also made waterfall bit better

im surprised.

These are very good terrains. Your creativitiy is very cool, especially the ice and cave terrains, those are by far very new and interesting terrains.

Your exectution needs to be better though. Some terrains are too simple, while some are too complicated

But please, be more specific because i want to know what are too sipmle so I can imporve :D

EDIT:

And yeah! Update. There is now new place, Fort Shepherd. That place includes Church and the Cave.

Most of these places resemble WoW and Lotr Area's if you ask me.

Anywho, 5/5 for its very interesting.

Does look pretty good for a playable, only thing I am having problems with is that cathedral, it looks too generic, I know, its supposed to be a cathedral, but what about trying to make it look a bit exculsive like the rest of your terrain?

I would suggest having things hightened, like using some plateau model under the benches, and have sections of stairs between each of them, where you go up and settle down into the benches, and I would change those benches for something else all together if I were you, they stick out a bit too much. And at the alter, you might use a hexagonal plateau to make it even higher than the hightened benches, and then have stairs going in semicicle around it, meeting at the back of it, where they both lead up to the main alter.
