and EqD has another rumor:
Episode 8: The Mysterious Mare Do Well - There is a new hero in Ponyville who is masked and stealing Rainbow Dash's thunder.

So far these rumors look pretty believable.

You don't have to be 'a jap' in order to be able to draw manga-like comics. It's just a style. Nevertheless, his/her comic is amusingly silly. :D

Wow, I felt like climbin Everest when I finished reading that comic. Either he's an artist or 'someone' had nothing better to do cause this would take a whole week.

This comic with the background story of Luna and Celestia was the best and it was colorful and the story was going forward. While this was also well drawn for being just a pencil, the story was in one place, nothing much going on. It's good but rly I felt like I climbed a mountain reading that.

fighting games are always full of recolors

I know, afterall I've done content for sucky mugen (and ponies will sure get to mugen when this different engine game is out). But when I did content (I'd better not waste my time with it any further) or even when I use content I delete all gay skins, like Pink hulk, Green Goblin with yellow colors etc..) keeping just the original and darker as being 'mirror'. I dont like, idk why they choose to add these diff color skins (called palettes) in fighting games.

Reminds me of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Noob Saiboot, Reyko from the MK series.

^ Unlike this community here where people have taken the time to do lots of models from scratch and such (well the majority are war3 based..) 1 guy for all the years of this sucky engine took his time to rip sprites from 3D MK games like MKA, a work that takes maybe years. All others do some crappy modifications of MK3 graphics sprites, no one really took the time to try doing ONE just one character or arena with 3D sprites, cause it is easy to do with these old boring MK3 sprites. When I told them how come, all in one sucky forum were like having food for flame fest. So yeah mugen sucks and if playing for the LOLZ doing anything about it is a waste of time

Anyway back to ponies, expecting next episode screenies and vids <3

~Season 2 Episode 5 - Sisterhooves Social~

Ah, another Saturday, another episode of Ponies. This was rather heartwarming. Train of thought:
- Rarity has parents! Well, goodbye "rarity's dead parents-fanfics". I think the 'laidback' attitude contrasts neatly with her pseudo-OCD.
- And in one fell swoop... Fandom destroyed! All sorts of sister-sister relations in that last bit.
- Crushing grapes... for wine?
- The scene where Rarity finds Sweetie Belle's project... Make the cuteness stop.
- Sheep = sapient? I guess Slavery = canon
- "My sister never 'high-hoof's' me..."
- "With Celestia as my witness..." - Well, there it is. We've joked about Celestia being their deity, but now it's official. :p
- Smoke alarms, but no washing machine?...
- Vegetarians, but eggs?... (I guess that's more of a vegan thing).
- So... AJ held breath for the entire thing?... Holy cow, she's a fish pirate Guybrush Threepwood in pony-form! (someone needs to draw that; we already have Pippi Longstocking).

Memorable quotes:
- "One. Day." /seriousface
- "Hey AJ, what's 'uncouth' mean?" *burp*
- "With Celestia as my witness..."

And man, what a twist! I'll be the first dope to say I completely missed it. I noticed she was quiet, and that her hair seemed different, but I didn't pick up the eye-color difference or anything until the horn was revealed. Wow, good job Hub.

Overall, a really good episode. Also, the first episode without Twilight Sparkle. I'm really glad they opened it up with Lesson Zero so that each of the other Mane 6 can send the 'friendship letter'; really makes the characters shine. Which is good, in a strongly character-driven show such as this.

I see a lot of people moaning and groaning about "no Twilight Sparkle", "boring sisterly love", "too much Rarity"... Honestly, that's what this show's about. Not every episode can be craziness/humor/comedy overload, nor focused on each character. The great little "slice-of-life" episodes are what this show's made of.

Also, consider; this is just episode 5. If this season's anything like S1, we have another solid 20 episodes to look forward to. So "no Pinkie Pie/Rainbow Dash/Fluttershy" isn't that disconcerting.

Then again, we need more songs. I can't believe they literally showcased Sweetie Belle and still didn't have her sing. :< Still, I have to say, as the oldest of 5, the sibling-rivalry bit was well-depicted.

Here's some other insightful post... I think he's got a good point, but unfortunately the way that MLP:FiM is set up, they just simply don't have the time or depth to explore something as awexome as logos/pathos/ethos in any proper way. :<

One thing I've noticed from watching these episodes is that in the episodes that focus on a conflict between two characters, some of the pairings (not shipping pairings, silly) work much better than others. For example, I don't think we'll ever really see a character conflict between Applejack and Fluttershy, because the characters' personalities don't contrast particularly well.

Therefore, I feel like the three best character combinations are:
1. Applejack and Rarity -- This one we've seen the most. There personalities and backgrounds contrast each other completely. I feel like the writers could expand this contrast to themes of the good of the community (represented by Applejack) vs. the good of the individual (represented by Rarity). I would like to see an episode, though, where Rarity appears in the good light, primarily to add color to Applejack's somewhat flat personality. It seems, generally, that Rarity has the most to learn from Applejack rather than vise-versa.

2. Twilight vs. Pinkie Pie -- This conflict we've only really seen in Feeling Pinkie Keen, but works really well. I feel this conflict could be used to explore themes of logic (portrayed by Twilight) vs. passion (portrayed by Pinkie) -- or maybe a three-way logos/pathos/ethos conflict with Rarity involved!

3. Rainbow Dash vs. Fluttershy -- This character conflict has only really been seen as a side-plot to Dragonshy and Sonic Rainboom. I feel like this conflict could explore themes of courage vs. cowardice or aggression vs. passivity.

That's not too say other pairings don't work. Applejack vs. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy vs. Rarity worked well because their characters were the most similar, thus creating a stronger friendship conflict. Furthermore, other character conflicts should be explored to keep the show interesting. But I feel like these pairings will make the best episodes generally.

One last note: great episode, one of my favorites. Season 2 has been better than season 1 in my opinion.

~~~
TL;DR, Good episode. Nice "slice-of-life".
Patience! I have a feeling we'll be seeing some singing from Sweetie Belle in Episode 9.
Rarity must choose between her friends and important social connections in Canterlot.
This episode was really good. People will complain about anything; the sisterly love was awesome and it fleshed out more of Sweetie Belle and Rarity's characters. I always assumed Sweetie Belle lived with Rarity, not her parents, who are...the complete opposite of both their children? And Canadian. Although I do find the lack of Twilight Sparkle disturbing... *twitch*
Rarity was low on the list of my favorite ponies, but after this episode, really made me more happy with her (as with many others). I was also shocked when it turned out "Applejack" was actually her in disguise. It was sweet to see how far she would go in order to bond with her sister, after realizing she made a mistake. Speaking of which, it seems Rarity has OCD that rivals Twilight. At least she can control it somewhat :D
The next episode is centered on Apple Bloom. Can we expect more development on the awesomeness that is Applejack? Next Saturday can't come fast enough.
Cry your manly tears for Sweetie Belle's love!
