I'll suggest you to add clusters of tinted river rushes at the trees of the left hill. Add them in a way that blocks the our vision of the base of the tree. Maybe barrens rocks are going to fix fine with the terrain.

But my 1st idea is going to help you.

PS:Most trees like that doesn't grow in grass. Add dirt where they're growing, but don't forget about the river rushes.

Hm... you definitely have some scaling problems in there. I guess you tried to create that "epic" feeling (in the background) and showing things close-up (in the foreground)?

The main problem is that you rely too much on the distance between the doodads to the camera. Simply placing them farer away isn't enough if you want to create actual depth. You need to scale doodads in the foreground a lot larger than those in the background. Right now it seems to me that all your trees have more or less the same size.
(A good example would be Death's waterfall pic - https://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34751)

Or take your river, if you look at the part under the bridge/between the mountains, it appears to be... well, let's say average sized.
Now, if you compare the size of the river in the foreground to the trees besides it than it's not more than a creek.

On the topic of trees, some tree variation would be nice. ^^
And maybe some rock faces instead of the... very steep hills.

Thanks 2-P, I'll try that out. Possibly tomorrow. I see what you meant now Void. 2-P explained it much better.

Necropost!

I found this still kicking around, and decided to play with it. I finally decided this was good enough. Only small updates. Stuff with the trees and plants.

I still hate the fact that I only used one tree. What was I thinking? It's too much of a hassle to fix that. : (

Yeah, although there is some, it's hard to tell. The problem is, that everything is scaled really small, so the tiles look huge. : (
